Chapter 489: Chapter 489 – The Matter of Thousand Dragonoir’s [ Part 3 ]
Peter’s cold voice echoed through the long throne room again, “I ask you again, did you or did you not use a sigmat ring in that fight?”
“I did.”
“See, now that makes sense.” Some guys start talking.
“It was weird before when it was said he didn’t use a ring… like what kind of maniac has that strength?”
“So that means he lied to them.”
Harry Bairevow narrowed his eyes at me. I could feel him internally asking, ‘So you lied to us?’
Peter smiled as through he uncovered a large matter, “See! I knew it couldn’t be true.” Then he looked at me with a sarcastic smile, “At least you have the dignity to admit the trut-”
“But it wasn’t used at the punch.”
Peter froze in his steps, “What?”
“I said, I didn’t use any ring when I… gave… that… punch.” My gentlemanly smile overlooked his twitching one.
“So you lie again. I thought you had some kind of honor, but I think it must have washed away by the countless illegal-”
“Peter” I call out.
“What?”
“You were there with me,” I ask him, “Where the battle happened, right?”
“Of course I was.”
“And you were there with me when I was fighting against Orion… or at least somewhere close?”
“What is the meaning of thi-”
“Humor me for a sec.” I say, my carefree expression peaking some interest.
“…I was.” Peter said after some thought.
“At the time of that fight, how many rings were I wearing?”
Peter didn’t know where I was going with this but he felt something like a trap coming.
“One probably… most likely.”
“So one?” My eyes looked at him as if saying ‘Do I lock down that answer?’, “And as I was fighting what element did you see me using?”
“Well… it was… !!!”
Peter’s felt shock course through him as his eyes widened. He remembered what element Henry used.
It was Fire.
The memory was still clear in his mind when Henry descended on the battlefield with a fiery blaze and started attacking with only fire elemental attacks.
His mind showed him that he didn’t use any other elemental attacks, nothing except the red blazing fire that burned the bandits that day.
“N- No… that can’t be possible.” Peter murmured to himself as he looked taken, “I- I- I… there might be some kind of explanation…”
“Peter.”
“What?” Peter felt annoyed at being called.
“Might wanna explain to everyone what you’re thinking right now?”
The color drained from Peter’s face as he saw all the nobles looking directly at him. Both the high and low members, the masters also were looking at him.
Turning to the side, he saw his whole family looking at him as well. But unlike the curious gazes of the others, they had a dark look, telling him to shut it.
“Th- There could be an explanation for this, it can’t be true.” He said to his family.
“Like what?” I ask.
Turning his head quickly, he barked, “I don’t know! You probably used two rings and one of them was used for that punch!”
Peter felt a bit scared as he saw the new devilish smile that Henry had.
“Didn’t you just say a while ago, I only used one ring.”
!!!
‘Damn! This guy was tricking me from the beginning.’ Peter frowned at being caught by such an easy trap.
As he was about to say something, Harry Bairevow, the Chief Advisor of the Crown called him, “Lord Peter Dragonoir.”
“Yes…?”
“Please state your answers correctly… Did you or did you not see Lord Henry Van Tax using multiple rings at the battle?”
“I… I…” Peter felt pressure from his family and felt another type of fear as he was looked upon by Harry and the whole kingdoms high gazes, “He… did not.”
“And what element was of that singular ring?”
“It… It was the fire element.” Feeling his strength leaving, Peter said with a deep gnash.
“What? So that means… the kid didn’t use anything but his own strength at the battle?”
“Th- That insane… how can someone attain such strength… how do I-”
“Silence!” Harry called out in an authoritative voice as everyone eased down.
Harry looked at me, “Lord Henry, do you have anything to say that would shed light on the matter?”
“About the thing of my punch?”
“Yes”
“Well, it’s like everyone is saying, it wasn’t just my own strength that caused such destruction, I used an external help.”
Harry’s eyes shone lightly, “Continue”
“As you know, I’m a student at Leon High.” I explain, “Recently I was given the honor to learn under Harold Graydol which I accepted. It was from him that I learned of multiple physical fighting styles, styles that can give tremendous boost to one’s physical strength.”
“It was one of those skills that I used to my fullest as I punched.”
Hearing that, collective murmurs of understanding roamed around the room.
Everyone knew who I was talking about. Harold Graydol wasn’t just a great teacher but also an exceptional man whose reputation spread all around the kingdom.
The guy was the best Hand-to-Hand specialist in the kingdom. So they understood what kind of monster his apprentice could only be.
Yet most intelligent eyes remained on Henry. Just because it made the truth easier to digest doesn’t mean it was that easy.
It would take a great accomplishment just being able to learn under Harold… overcoming him… that was yet to be understood.
Harry nodded slowly, satisfied with both the answer and the crowd’s reaction.
“That’ll be the end of that. It wasn’t what you are accused of, but it was a question which you answered truthfully, so now we will move on.” Harry asked serious, “Lord Tax, you said you admit your guilt on the matter.”
“Yes, I know what I did and there’s no point denying it.” I say, with a hint of sadness, “I killed a lot of men, men that were born on my motherland, people that were true guardians of the kingdom. I can’t deny that fact.”
“Indeed.” Harry nodded, somewhat satisfied, “You say you had to use your full strength against Orion to finish him.”
“Yes… As I fought Orion, he suddenly had a breakdown and went on OVerdrive.” I explain, “His Amplification ring had a change as it gave him super boost in strength and also increased his regeneration ability like crazy.”
“It was his regeneration ability that I had trouble with. No matter how many times I would smash his head or put a hole in him, it would quickly heal up.”
I sigh, “I knew if the fight continued like that, I would be the one who’d get exhausted in the end and we’d lose the battle.”
“So you had to something drastic that would put the battle in your side.” Harry said and I nod.
“Anything else you want to say before we continue, Lord Henry?”
“I believe that’s all.”
Harry turned to Abigail.
Abigail opened her mouth, “Now that we have a clear understanding of what happened, we will get to the next phase. If any of you might have anything to say before I bring my judgement, please do so now.”
“I have something to say!” Hearing the loud, familiar tone I see Margaret’s bimbo like hot body taking a step ahead, “The Religias House believes in Henry Van Tax’s favor.”
“Speak, Lady Margaret.”
“Thank you, My Queen.” Margaret nodded in respect, “I understand Lord Henry’s crime is big and unspeakable in many ways, but he only did so because he wanted to help.”
“It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that we were about to lose that fight, Your Majesty.” Margaret stated, “It was through Lord Henry’s help that we deciphered a trap laid for our allied army.”
“In the end, that trap would have ended Lord Peter and his men if not for Lord Henry’s timely intervention.”
