CHAPTER 312: 312

A woman stood there, her smile twisted and wide. Her eyes glowed with madness, and her teeth—some cracked, some stained with blood—peeked out through her broken lips. Her long black hair floated as if in water. She looked more like a cursed spirit than a living being. Her laugh echoed around him, making the colors around flicker.

Kael jumped back, raising his hand instinctively. "Who are you and why are you looking for me? Also, I’m not Leonard," he snapped, his voice firm but trying to sound clueless.

The woman tilted her head back and laughed louder, almost choking on it.

"Oh my my..." she said, licking the blood off her lower lip. "Can you not act like that? How could I mistake your soul? Bodies change, dear... but the soul, the soul stays the same."

She started circling Kael like a predator. Her bare feet made no sound against the colorful mist below.

"And why can’t I be here?" she asked sweetly, bending close to whisper into his ear. Her breath was icy cold. "It’s you who came to me this time. Seems your love for me knows no bounds."

Kael narrowed his eyes, clenching his fists. "Love my ass," he growled. "I don’t have such a weird taste."

The woman chuckled again, madness bubbling beneath her words. "Kekeke... Stop pretending, Leonard. I know that body of yours wants me. Let’s test it, shall we?"

Without warning, she lunged forward, her long fingers reaching out toward his chest.

But just as her hands were about to touch him—she froze.

Her smile disappeared. Her eyes widened in confusion. Her arms hung midair, as if caught by something invisible.

"What—?" she stammered.

Then a scream tore through the space. It was loud, sharp, and full of fury. It shook the entire realm, making even the colored mist ripple.

"YOU DARE lay hands on my man?!"

The voice was like thunder wrapped in fire. It shook Kael to his core and made the woman stumble back, clutching her head. The moment the scream echoed, the swirling realm of spirit energy crackled like lightning.

Kael’s eyes turned toward the new voice, surprised and unsure what to expect.

The woman in front of him looked terrified now. Her body trembled. She stepped back with a crazed look in her eyes. "No... You’re not supposed to be here..." she hissed.

Kael frowned. He didn’t know what was going on, but the presence of the angry voice felt strangely comforting.

The bloodied woman hissed like a snake, backing further into the colors.

Kael turned slightly, trying to make sense of it. "Who’s protecting me now?" he muttered, his heart pounding.

A loud, thunderous voice suddenly boomed again through the ruined space, its weight crashing down like a wave. "You dare touch my men."

The entire battlefield seemed to freeze. The Crimson Goddess staggered back, eyes wide, her face pale with disbelief. That voice—it wasn’t just loud, it carried an aura. A divine, terrible pressure. She hissed, "You... why are you here?" Her eyes darted around, searching. "Why are you protecting him?"

Kael stood still, stunned. The voice rang deep in his chest. He wasn’t able to notice it at first but now he was too familiar. It made his heart tremble.

"Who..." he whispered, looking around frantically. His temples pulsed as a sharp headache began.

The pain grew worse by the second, making him curse, "Damn!" He clutched his head, his breathing turning ragged. Why does this voice sound like someone I loved? Someone... important.

Then, like a shadow slipping between dimensions, a woman appeared behind Kael.

She didn’t just walk into existence—she materialized. Her figure was graceful but unsettling, like something out of a forbidden dream. Her eyes glowed dimly under a hood, and six ethereal hands floated behind her like ghostly limbs. She held a huge, jagged sickle, and her entire presence screamed danger. Cold, eerie, untouchable.

The Crimson Goddess froze. Her expression twisted in fear. "You again..." she whispered.

The mysterious woman’s voice came cold as winter. "Last time I beat you wasn’t enough, so now you’ve come crawling back?"

The Crimson Goddess’ lips curled in anger, but she didn’t dare move. Her voice trembled as she spat out, "Why are you protecting him? Why risk exposing yourself for this one man? What’s so special about him that you descended from the Godly Plane to watch over him?"

The woman tilted her head slightly. Her six hands shifted around her in a slow spiral. "You don’t need to know that."

Without another word, one of the ghostly hands drew back, gripping the sickle, and slashed toward the Crimson Goddess. The air around them ripped, a chilling void filling the space. The Crimson Goddess stared at it. She didn’t block or dodge. Instead, she laughed. "Keke..."

The attack stopped just inches from her. She didn’t even flinch.

"You can save him, but the city?" she said, voice turning gleeful. "This city is doomed. People will die. That dumb brute—let’s see if he can save it."

"You might be wondering why my avatar is here..Because this whole city would be getting sacrificed..Hahaha."

With a mad laugh echoing in the ruins, she vanished into dust.

Kael finally opened his eyes and stared at the woman in front of him. His breath caught. His heart pounded. "You..." he said, his eyes narrowing. "Which one of my lovers are you?"

The pain in his head flared violently. He gritted his teeth, stumbling slightly. "Dammit... Am I cursed? What the hell is this?!"

The mysterious woman floated closer. Her six ghostly arms moved with a grace that didn’t feel human. Two hands reached out and cupped his face gently. Two others stroked his hair softly. She looked at him with eyes filled with longing.

"Leonad..no..Kael..."

Her voice changed. It no longer sounded cold. It was soft, warm, trembling with emotion. Kael’s breathing slowed. The pain in his head dulled, as if her voice smoothed it over like balm on a wound.

"I’m sorry," she whispered. "It hurts... It hurts us too. Thankfully Nina stayed in the spirit realm and she managed to reach me. I came the moment I heard."

Kael blinked. Her voice... her touch... it was all too real. But why couldn’t he remember?

"You knew Nina?" he asked slowly. "Then who... who are you?"

Despite trying hard,Kael wasn’t able to recal. He knew she was one of his but as for which one he didn’t know.
