The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two
Chapter 102: Charlotte Summers Blocks Yvette Aston at the Company Entrance
CHAPTER 102: CHAPTER 102: CHARLOTTE SUMMERS BLOCKS YVETTE ASTON AT THE COMPANY ENTRANCE
After a busy afternoon in the office area, the end of the workday arrived, but Yvette hadn’t noticed.
She glanced at her little notebook, put the documents in order, and answered Henry’s call.
"Holly is out of danger now and has already woken up. Don’t worry," Henry directly mentioned Holly’s situation. "The hospital staff said Holly’s emotions are quite unstable, I’ll pick you up and we’ll go check on her."
Henry brought up Holly to ensure Yvette would accompany him.
Actually, Henry understood Yvette quite well; her job search in Meridia was merely an attempt to sever ties with him completely.
In Henry’s view, Yvette was stubbornly upset because he refused to call off the engagement.
But the marriage arrangement with the Bell Family wasn’t really his decision to make. The old man hasn’t been well for several years; he can’t get angry or be agitated.
"Okay... Where are you? I’ll come find you," Yvette whispered.
"Where do you work? I’ll pick you up and we’ll leave directly?" Henry wanted to know where Yvette worked, even Ben couldn’t find out.
"Grant Group..." Yvette didn’t hide it, as sooner or later he would find out.
She was definitely going to be by Ethan’s side in the future.
On the other side of the phone, Henry was silent; even over the phone, Yvette could feel Henry’s low pressure.
"I’ll be there soon." After a long pause, Henry said in a somber voice.
Yvette took a deep breath and hung up the phone.
She tidied up the items on her desk and left the office area.
Most of the company’s employees had already finished work; most of the first-floor employees held basic positions and didn’t need to work overtime.
"Did you see her? That’s Yvette. You know about the real and fake heiresses? That’s the shameless one. It’s said she even tried a marriage scam, tricking the Grant Family into a union, nearly becoming our group’s young madam."
"So shameless, wanting to marry Jayden and be our Mr. Grant’s sister-in-law, that’s truly shameless."
"Jayden is at least our company’s young master, Ethan’s own brother. She really had grand plans."
"It’s a pity, now look at her, I heard she just got out of prison."
Near the entrance, several mid-level employees gathered, as if they were specifically waiting to see what kind of person Yvette was.
Yvette stayed silent, lowered her head, intending to leave.
"Shameless." Yet, those women had no intention of letting her go.
"How do you have the face to come to our company? Our Junior President Grant was nearly ruined by you." Employees from Jayden’s team specifically waited for Yvette. "You’re the one who got Junior President Grant taken away by the police, right? You used such means to get a chance at Grant Group, you’re truly shameless."
Melody tightly covered the incident of Jayden going to the police station. Even though it made it to trending topics, no one knew the real reason Jayden was taken by the police.
But these people blocking her at the company entrance were clearly orchestrated by Melody.
"Yvette."
Apart from these people, there was a heavyweight presence.
Yvette heard her voice, and her spine felt a chill, Charlotte Summers.
Unexpectedly, she waited for her to get off work, how laughable.
Charlotte’s face was somewhat pale, stepping out of a black luxury car, which belonged to Jayden.
Evidently, Charlotte was there to assert her ownership.
"Using Jayden’s future as leverage to get a chance at joining Grant Group, I really underestimated you." Charlotte, soft and weak, said, stepping forward and slapping Yvette in front of everyone.
Yvette stood numbly in place; she had anticipated Charlotte would hit her, but she didn’t dodge.
Perhaps it was guilt at work.
She had undeservedly enjoyed the twenty-year life that should have belonged to Charlotte.
Therefore, no matter how excessive Charlotte was to her over the years, she endured it.
But Charlotte seemed unsatisfied, escalating her actions.
"Do you think staying at Grant Group will give you a good life? I heard from my mom you’re back for revenge? Ha..." Charlotte laughed, clearly looking down on Yvette. "Just you? I could squash you like an ant."
Charlotte threatened Yvette with a stare.
Yvette remained silent.
"She is truly shameless; how does she have the face to come to Grant Group?"
"And wants to be Mr. Grant’s assistant, what is she thinking."
The people around supported Charlotte; after all, Charlotte was the ’victim,’ the true eldest lady and Jayden’s legitimate fiancée.
While Yvette was nothing but a thief, without power or influence, and a convict.
"She used despicable means to threaten Ethan, forcing him to keep her by his side as an assistant, it’s her usual tactic," Charlotte said sarcastically.
Melody didn’t dare to disclose Yvette and Ethan getting a license to anyone, at least not now.
So Charlotte believed Yvette was using the case withdrawal to threaten Ethan.
"Yvette, having offended Ethan, do you think you’ll have a good time?" Charlotte continued taunting, wanting to hit Yvette again. "I’ll wait to see your end."
Yvette raised her eyes and looked straight at Charlotte, this time, she didn’t let her hand fall.
"What I owed you, I’ve already repaid, moreover, the person who owed you isn’t me. That slap just now is the last. If you touch me again, I won’t hesitate to call the police again." Yvette pushed Charlotte’s hand away.
Charlotte looked at Yvette in shock, ha... truly impressive.
May went home and said Yvette had shown her true colors and changed, no longer disguising herself, she didn’t believe it.
She witnessed it today.
In an opportune manner, Charlotte sat on the ground, her face weak, fainting there.
"She hit someone! She hit her, Miss Summers’ health is so frail, how could she have the heart to strike!"
"Don’t leave, you can’t think of leaving, if anything happens to Miss Summers, our Aston Family won’t let you off." Charlotte’s driver rushed over, grabbing Yvette’s hand, refusing to let her leave.
Everyone blamed Yvette.
Yvette felt suffocated, struggling to breathe.
She was terrified by the feeling of being surrounded by so many people, making it hard for her to breathe.
"Charlotte!" Hearing Charlotte had gone to Grant Group to block Yvette, Stellan was initially worried about Yvette, but rushed into the crowd to find Charlotte had fainted and glared angrily at Yvette, pushing her out.
Yvette, already with a racing heart, didn’t stabilize herself, fell to the ground, her palm scratched, forehead bruised.
Dazed, Yvette looked at her palm’s blood-soaked sting.
Stellan hugged Charlotte, angrily glaring at Yvette. "You better pray Charlotte is alright."
Otherwise, the Aston Family wouldn’t really let her off.
Yvette sneered, braced herself to stand, faced the bystanders, each blaming her.
In reality, anyone with eyes could see Charlotte was incriminating her.
But everyone subconsciously viewed her as a villain.
This is human nature.
"Stellan, if your sister is ill, take her to see a doctor. Don’t let her blow around outside for no reason – it might hurt her back."
A sedan stopped at the entrance, Henry stepped out, his voice deep.
Stellan frowned, it was Henry again.
"President Jennings... That’s President Jennings from Apex, right?"
"Is President Jennings supporting this Yvette?"
The people on the side were in uproar.
"President Jennings, it was Yvette who deliberately pushed our young lady," the driver said angrily.
Henry walked over to Yvette. "Did you push her?"
Yvette didn’t speak.
If Ethan were here, he certainly wouldn’t ask her such a question, but would directly resolve the issue.
Yvette paused, surprised why she thought of Ethan at such a moment.
