The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two
Chapter 104: Ethan Grant Rushes to Find Yvette Aston Overnight
CHAPTER 104: CHAPTER 104: ETHAN GRANT RUSHES TO FIND YVETTE ASTON OVERNIGHT
Yvette gasped, looking at Henry Jennings, her gaze stubborn and resolute. "Ethan Grant is not that kind of person."
"Yvette!" Henry thought Yvette would be shocked, disappointed, but never expected her first reaction would be to defend Ethan Grant. "You’ve only known him for a few days, how much do you actually know about him? For Ethan Grant to be in the position he is today, do you really think he’s a good man?"
"That’s Mr. Grant’s private affair... and it has nothing to do with me." Yvette felt anxious, a certain indescribable heaviness in her heart.
No matter what Ethan Grant was like, it had nothing to do with her; they were merely in a business relationship.
But why did it have to involve Wendy Bell, again someone from the Bell Family.
She just didn’t want to provoke anyone from the Bell Family anymore.
"Yvette, don’t get involved with Ethan Grant. He’s different from me; at least my feelings for you are genuine, I won’t exploit you. But Ethan Grant, he can utterly ruin you." Henry released Yvette, giving a deep warning.
Yvette hung her head, saying nothing.
Henry frustratedly tugged at his tie; Yvette was exactly the kind of woman who needed to see the coffin before shedding tears, who wouldn’t turn back until hitting a wall.
She wouldn’t look back until she had suffered at Ethan Grant’s and the Grant Group’s hands.
...
Coronet City.
Ethan Grant stood by the hotel’s floor-to-ceiling windows, frowning slightly.
Yvette hung up on him?
With Yvette’s temperament, unless something happened, it was impossible for her to hang up his call and not respond.
"Check if something has happened with Yvette, ask the maid if she’s returned home, and also check with the company." Ethan Grant said solemnly, instructing Christopher Carter to investigate.
Christopher sighed, already knowing Yvette was trouble.
After making some calls, Christopher walked over to Ethan Grant with a serious face. "The maid said Yvette hasn’t gone home. People at the company said Yvette had a confrontation with Charlotte Summers at the company entrance after work today. Yvette pushed Charlotte Summers, causing her to faint."
Yvette was becoming increasingly reckless, daring to openly push that sickly Charlotte Summers.
"Do you believe it?" Ethan Grant asked, sitting on the sofa with a slightly restrained voice. "Has The Aston Family been giving Yvette trouble?"
"Stellan Aston took Charlotte Summers away, and The Aston Family approached Melody Crowe and Arthur Grant to say that someone like Yvette should not remain in the Grant Group." Christopher sighed, with so many people opposing Yvette staying in the Grant Group, who knows if she can handle it.
"Pull the video from the company entrance and send it to me, did Yvette leave with anyone?" Ethan Grant didn’t believe Yvette would intentionally harm Charlotte Summers.
"Yvette left with Henry Jennings, presumably returning to Montville." Christopher glanced at Ethan Grant and spoke again. "Mr. Grant, I’ve told you before, Summers is Henry Jennings’s child, and Yvette and Henry Jennings are intertwined, this will cause you a lot of trouble."
Ethan seemed pensive. "She can’t take leave from the three-day training. Yvette will definitely rush back to Meridia before work tomorrow. If she’s hurrying to leave with Henry Jennings, something must have happened in Montville. The woman named Holly Ziegler, check her out."
Christopher hesitated because he didn’t understand why Mr. Grant was focusing so much on Yvette—it seemed pointless.
But since Ethan Grant instructed, he had to comply.
Sure enough, after calling the people at the club, they learned Holly Ziegler had an accident, being pushed down the stairs and suffering heavy bleeding, the child was lost and her life was in danger.
"Mr. Grant... Holly Ziegler was pregnant and was pushed down the stairs, lost the child, and her uterus couldn’t be saved, but her life was."
Ethan was taken aback, frowning at the time.
Was Yvette pleading with Henry Jennings over Holly Ziegler’s matter?
Obviously, Yvette didn’t fully trust him, otherwise, she would have told him such a thing immediately.
"To Montville." Ethan rose, grabbing his coat to leave.
Christopher was shocked. "Mr. Grant! Your meeting is tomorrow afternoon. Going to Montville now..."
Though the distance from Coronet City to Montville isn’t far, just over an hour’s long drive, what is there to fuss with so late?
"Moreover, since Yvette went with Henry Jennings, surely Henry Jennings will help her handle these things."
Christopher is urgently advising.
As Ethan entered the elevator, his voice was low. "She’s now legally my wife in name. Do you think I should let her owe other men a favor?"
"But that’s Summers’s father, what does it..." Christopher was frantic, but he got silent, knowing that once Ethan Grant made up his mind, no one could change it.
...
Montville Hospital.
"Go on in, I’ll wait for you outside." Henry Jennings guided Yvette into the hospital room and went to the smoking area to light a cigarette.
Yvette nervously looked at Henry, reaching out for her phone.
Henry frowned. "Wanting to contact Ethan Grant?"
"He’s my boss..." Yvette explained.
"And it’s off hours." Henry was a bit jealous. If it were any other man, he wouldn’t worry, but when it came to Ethan Grant, Henry was extremely tense.
"What right do you have... to control me?" Yvette’s eyes were red with anger, but she dared not offend Henry Jennings.
"Yvette, don’t test my patience." Henry’s voice was low.
Yvette knew Henry was angry.
Actually, Yvette was afraid of Henry, the incident of being raped six years ago left her with a deep psychological shadow, afraid of his anger.
With head lowered, she entered the hospital room, thinking of how to explain to Ethan Grant.
In the hospital room.
Holly Ziegler’s face was pale, staring vacantly out the window.
"Yvette." Little Ya was still there, eyes red.
It was clear that Little Ya was a very good girl, at least now beside Holly was only her.
Hearing Little Ya calling Yvette, Holly came back to her senses, looking at Yvette, her emotions couldn’t hold.
"Holly." Yvette walked to her bedside, extending her hand to her.
Holly said nothing, only tightly hugged Yvette.
Three years in prison together, even without words, they understood each other’s pain.
There was an unspoken scream and howl, a helpless feeling even when the soul was shattered, powerless and desolate.
"Is everything okay in Meridia?" Holly asked softly.
Yvette nodded.
Holly didn’t mention the child or the uterus, and Yvette didn’t ask.
It wasn’t that she didn’t care, it was that they understood each other too well.
"I’ve joined Grant Group, still in the learning phase. I have to rush back tonight, there are three days of assessments, after which I will be Ethan Grant’s personal assistant." Yvette spoke softly.
Holly took a deep breath. "Yvette... you have to hold on to Ethan Grant, the big tree."
Yvette nodded.
"You need to climb higher, to a height those people can’t reach."
Holly’s voice was a bit weak.
Yvette said nothing.
"Yvette, once I’m discharged and have dealt with everything here, I’ll come find you in Meridia. I want a fresh start in a new environment." Holly smiled hoarsely.
"Okay, I’ll be waiting for you in Meridia." Yvette patted Holly’s back.
"Holly..."
Holly wanted to say something more, but her gaze fell on the man entering the room.
Yvette also turned to look, it was the manager from the club.
Yvette had seen him before, quite good-looking, decent features, but she never expected him to be such an irresponsible person.
"Holly, the club’s been busy, this is the first chance I’ve had to see you." The man spoke softly. "How are you?"
He clearly knew but pretended as if he knew nothing.
Holly’s face hardened as she spoke. "The child is gone, yours, and the uterus couldn’t be saved either."
Since he played ignorant, she laid it out plainly.
"Holly... take care of yourself, this is thirty thousand... Last time you asked about our relationship, I think it’s not quite suitable, my mom doesn’t quite agree either." The man placed the money on the bed, turning to leave.
"A child, a woman’s whole life, thirty thousand? You’re hardly a man." Little Ya voiced angrily.
Yvette looked at the man, just feeling it was ironic.
This was reality.
"She fell down the stairs, it wasn’t my fault, without a uterus, she can’t have kids..." the man muttered softly.
