CHAPTER 110: CHAPTER 110: ETHAN WON’T LET YVETTE SEE HENRY

In the CEO’s office, Yvette Aston’s phone kept vibrating.

It was clear that Ethan Grant was quite displeased. Yvette hurriedly silenced the phone.

Ethan didn’t force Yvette to turn off the phone, as long as she didn’t answer, Henry Jennings would have to keep waiting.

Earlier, Christopher Carter sent a message saying that Henry’s car was downstairs, obviously here to pick up Yvette.

"Make a hundred copies of this document," Ethan assigned a task to Yvette.

Yvette glanced at the document, an employee handbook, and asked, "Mr. Grant, is this for all employees?"

"Yes." Ethan replied nonchalantly.

"But... wouldn’t it be more efficient to edit a group message in the department management group and have them distribute it?" Yvette didn’t quite understand why she needed to make a hundred copies.

Ethan put down the document in his hand and looked up at Yvette.

He didn’t say a word, but Yvette was already intimidated.

"Boss, I’ll go make copies right away."

Holding the document, Yvette left the office and diligently began making copies in the copy room.

In the office, Yvette’s phone kept vibrating again, the caller ID showed it was Henry Jennings calling.

Ethan got up, glanced at it, smirked, and turned towards the floor-to-ceiling window.

He wouldn’t mess with Yvette’s phone but making Henry go crazy downstairs was within his power.

In Montville, when he called Yvette, Henry had snatched Yvette’s phone to hang up on him.

Ethan Grant always reciprocated in kind.

...

Downstairs, Henry Jennings wore a dark expression, growing more agitated.

After calling for a long time without response, Henry knew it must be Ethan Grant’s doing.

Henry directly called Ethan Grant.

Ethan didn’t answer either.

Henry frowned, raising his hand to rub his forehead.

From what he knew of Ethan, Ethan wouldn’t go to such lengths over a woman without a reason.

Ethan’s actions were practically telling Henry that he was going to compete for Yvette.

Henry knew what Ethan intended to do through Yvette, as Ethan was aware of Jayden Grant’s private communications with him, and the Jennings Family had even hosted Melody Crowe to bid for the Solara event project.

This Solara project was a must-win for Ethan, but Jayden also sought it.

Jayden, after his stint at the police station and subsequent trending news, had his reputation plummet within Grant Group, heavily influencing him; he was tightly controlled by Ethan, and needed to secure this project to re-establish authority within the Grant Group.

Ethan knew the Jennings Family was aiding Jayden, was using Yvette as a warning to him?

After exiting the car in silence for a moment, Henry walked straight toward Grant Group.

He needed to let Ethan know that not everything was up for use and competition.

At the very least, he didn’t want Yvette to be exploited, caught up in the struggle between the Grant brothers.

"President Jennings... are you here to see Mr. Grant?"

The receptionist stammered a question.

"This way, please."

Apex was a strategic partner of Grant Group, and they certainly wouldn’t dismiss Henry. Instead, they escorted Henry to the elevator.

Elsewhere, Ethan arrived at the copy room, looking at Yvette beside the copier.

"How many copies so far?"

"It’s still printing, thirty have been done," Yvette quickly replied.

"No need to wait, Christopher will be back soon. Come with me," Ethan turned towards the elevator.

"Mr. Grant, is there a social event?" Yvette hurried after him, glanced at her notebook. She remembered correctly that there were no social events this evening.

Ethan said nothing, leading Yvette to the underground parking lot.

The moment the elevator doors closed for Ethan and Yvette, Henry stepped out of another elevator.

"Sorry, President Jennings, Mr. Grant just left, he just got into the elevator."

Henry was somewhat impatient, turning with a dark expression, repeatedly tapping the elevator button.

Ethan Grant!

Doing this on purpose?

It seemed he had been far too polite to Ethan over the years.

In the underground parking lot.

"Mr. Grant, are you... driving yourself?" Yvette looked around, noticing neither the driver nor Christopher were present.

"Can you drive?" Ethan asked.

Yvette nervously shook her head. "No, I can’t."

Seeing Yvette open the back door, Ethan’s face darkened. "Sit in the front!"

Yvette hastily closed the door and climbed into the front passenger seat.

"Mr. Grant, where are we going?" If they were meeting a client, Yvette wanted to be prepared ahead.

Ethan said nothing, stepping on the gas and driving away.

"Mr. Grant!"

At the elevator exit, the manager who had been receiving Henry frantically called out.

But it was too late.

Ethan’s timing was impeccable, hitting all of Henry’s nerve points.

Standing there in tense silence, Henry’s expression was grim.

Ethan, you’ve gone a bit too far this time.

"Has Mr. Grant been very busy lately?" Henry’s voice was cold and indifferent, betraying no emotion.

The nearby manager nervously nodded. "President Jennings, truly sorry, Mr. Grant has indeed been very busy lately."

"Heh..." Henry glanced at the time. "Since he’s so busy, call Jayden Grant and tell him I’m interested in discussing the Solara project with him."

The manager was startled for a moment, stammering, hesitating to speak.

Clearly, Henry was unhappy.

Everyone knew the Grant brothers, Ethan and Jayden, had different mothers and didn’t get along.

"President Jennings... should I call Mr. Grant again?" The manager nervously pulled out his phone, dialing Ethan’s number.

Henry didn’t stop him, watching for Ethan’s reaction.

If Ethan’s maneuver was too transparent.

Then there was no need for pretense.

Jayden Grant was a much easier opponent than Ethan.

...

At Michelle Lockwood’s villa.

"Oh my, what’s wrong with you, my dress is dirty now," Michelle exclaimed, stepping down from the car in her high heels, her long legs smooth and elegant.

She expected Caden Summers, waiting outside to receive her, to reach out to help her or carry her dress, but he stood there with an upright stance and serious demeanor.

"Come help me with my dress!" Michelle was truly at a loss with Caden, was he inclined towards men?

With her long legs, which man wouldn’t steal an extra glance or two, yet he didn’t budge.

His eyes were clear with a hint of impatience.

As if telling her, hurry up so I can get off work...

"Boss, can I clock out now?" Caden stepped forward, bunching Michelle’s dress into a ball in his hands, checking his watch.

He still needed to take Summers to the hospital to see a doctor.

Michelle’s long legs, like works of art, caught everyone’s attention, prompting Caden to carefully adjust the dress to cover them modestly.

"..." Michelle observed Caden’s puzzling actions, smirking. "This dress is a handcrafted luxury, a personal custom design worth a million... no crumpling allowed."

"..." Caden glanced at the now-balled-up dress in his hands, quickly letting go.

He suspected Michelle was setting him up.

But she wasn’t wrong, the places he had grasped showed evident creases.

Taking a deep breath, Caden softly spoke. "Were you perhaps... scammed?"

This dress costs a million?

Highway robbery?

Michelle gave Caden a knowing gaze, her eyes unrestrained.

"Stay with me tonight and you won’t have to pay for the dress."
