CHAPTER 119: CHAPTER 119: ETHAN GRANT ORDERS YVETTE ASTON TO WRITE A REVIEW

Lilith Larson’s face instantly turned ashen, devoid of any color.

"Yvette!"

Yvette Aston took a step back with her phone in hand, smiling at Lilith Larson. "Miss Larson, it’s a pleasure to work with you."

Lilith’s hands were trembling.

Yvette had been plotting against her, and now she revealed the person Melody Crowe had placed beside Ethan Grant.

With Melody’s personality, how could she possibly let her off?

She had no choice but to let Yvette have the upper hand.

This woman... is truly terrifying.

"Our Mr. Grant treats every employee well."

No sooner had Yvette finished her sentence, the police walked in. "Yvette Aston? We’ve received a report accusing you of intentional harm. Please come with us."

Yvette glanced at Lilith, her expression calm.

Those who joined the police at the doorway to watch were all mid-level employees or higher in the company.

Everyone was watching.

Lilith forced herself to stay calm, stepped forward, and spoke with a smile. "Sorry, it was all a misunderstanding. I’m the manager of the Human Resources Department at Grant Group. I just spoke with Yvette and realized it was a work-related miscommunication, not intentional harm."

The police frowned. "Are you in charge here?"

Lilith nodded. "Yes, this was a misunderstanding, and we’ll handle it internally. Sorry for the inconvenience."

"Lilith, what’s going on?" Arthur Grant approached, clearly displeased.

Yvette didn’t say a word. She wanted Lilith to step up and explain for her.

This way, Yvette could truly cut off all of Lilith’s escape routes.

It would be impossible for Lilith to turn back.

"Mr. Grant, it’s all a misunderstanding. We just found out that the issue arose during employee handover. I had specifically instructed the HR during training that peanuts should not be consumed, but they misunderstood it as Mr. Grant loving peanuts, which led to the error." Lilith quickly explained, intending to casually find a scapegoat and move past the incident.

Arthur looked at Yvette meaningfully and snorted. "Ethan is still in the hospital; this matter needs a thorough investigation."

"Today’s incident is a misunderstanding." Ethan Grant’s voice came from the crowd.

Instantly, the chaotic emotions in Yvette’s heart settled.

"Mr. Grant." The police approached to inquire about the situation.

Ethan explained to the police, stating that he insisted on eating candies and didn’t expect an allergic reaction, and it wasn’t related to the assistant.

The police took notes and then left.

The company staff quickly returned to their posts; no one dared to provoke Ethan at this moment.

"Ethan! Are you okay?" Wendy Bell ran over crying, hugging Ethan with a frightened expression.

Ethan’s expression darkened, and he subconsciously looked at Yvette.

She stood at the doorway, dumbfounded, not knowing to come over.

His face turned gloomy as he glanced at Christopher Carter.

Christopher, frightened, quickly squeezed in between Ethan and Wendy, spreading his arms to block her. "Miss Bell, our Mr. Grant isn’t feeling well; let him return to his office to rest."

Wendy wiped her tears, speaking softly, "Ethan, today’s event was frightening. The people around you are too careless. If it were me, I wouldn’t make such mistakes. I think I should just be your assistant."

Ethan didn’t hear what Wendy was saying; his attention was on Yvette.

She seemed lost in thought, standing there with her head down, tightly gripping her left arm with her right hand, clearly deep in thought.

What was she thinking about so intently?

"Ethan, this matter needs serious handling." Arthur wanted Ethan to take this opportunity to end his ridiculous marriage with Yvette.

"You’re right, it must be handled seriously." Ethan walked up to Yvette, his voice low. "No more peanut candies in the future, write a 3,000-word review, and send it to me before the end of the day. If you don’t finish, you’re not leaving!"

"..." Yvette snapped back to reality, looking at Ethan.

Write a review?

Arthur’s face darkened. Ethan clearly understood but pretended not to, deliberately provoking him.

"I can’t control you anymore; take care of yourself!" Arthur pointed at both Yvette and Ethan.

If this issue isn’t resolved now and gets exposed in the future, it’ll be a stain on Ethan’s record.

"Mr. Grant..." Lilith’s voice trembled as she called out, lowering her head, not daring to speak further.

"Manager Larson, shouldn’t you also write a review and submit it to me?" Ethan asked meaningfully.

Lilith quickly nodded. "Yes, yes, this is my fault."

She was so frightened her legs were about to give out.

She dared not openly offend Ethan.

If Ethan really wanted to deal with her, she wouldn’t have a way out.

"What are you all still doing here? Did I tell you to stand as punishment? Come in and write your review." Ethan lowered his head to look at Yvette, a smile playing on his lips.

Yvette quickly turned around, following Ethan’s steps closely.

"Ethan..." Wendy stood there, her voice hoarse. Was she being ignored by Ethan?

"Miss Bell, your health is not great; you should go home and rest. May I escort you back?" Christopher smiled as he blocked Wendy, intending to send her home.

"I want to have lunch with Ethan." Wendy clenched her fists, wishing Christopher would mind his own business, but since Christopher was Ethan’s distant cousin, she dared not be too blatant.

She still had to pretend when needed.

"Here’s the thing, Mr. Grant just induced vomiting, and the doctor said he can’t eat anything for now. Please go back first, and when Mr. Grant is better, he’ll visit you." Christopher blocked Wendy, his smile stiff.

Wendy’s eyes reddened. "Is Ethan mad at me?"

"Not at all! I swear." Christopher had a soft spot for beautiful women; Wendy Bell was pure as a white jasmine blossom, but unfortunately, Mr. Grant didn’t quite appreciate it. "Miss Bell, you know about the Solara project. Mr. Grant is very dedicated to it. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have pulled out his IV drip just to return to work; he’s a workaholic, and during work, he doesn’t consider personal relationships."

Wendy knew Ethan didn’t like being disturbed while working.

"Scott Aldridge is my senior, and I’ve already contacted him. We’ll go to Solara together this time, and I can assist him." Wendy said earnestly.

Christopher thought for a moment and decided to brush her off. "Alright, Miss Bell, I will convey your dedication to Mr. Grant."

Wendy bit her lip, clenching her fingers. "How could Ethan hire an assistant so casually?"

Christopher took a deep breath; how was this casual?

As soon as she arrived, Yvette shook the entire entrance of Grant Group!

The HR Department was essentially the first gate of Grant Group; originally, this gate blocked Ethan’s way. It took Christopher several years to open it, but Yvette knocked on it hard twice and directly kicked it open.

Indeed, don’t judge a person by their appearance.

"Miss Yvette passed the assessment with full marks." Christopher already had a little bit of admiration for Yvette.

Wendy nodded and did not speak further.

"Miss Bell, let me escort you." Secretary Ziegler came running over, personally opening the elevator door for Wendy.

"I remember Yvette... seems to be Jayden Grant’s fiancée, right?" Wendy asked meaningfully.

The secretary nodded. "There’s such a rumor."

Wendy snorted, laughing coldly. It seemed she needed to visit The Aston Family and have a good chat with Charlotte Summers about Yvette.

...

Office.

Yvette felt a lingering fear. As well as she pretended earlier, she was now equally timid, with weak knees.

Almost losing her balance, Yvette held onto the door frame.

Ethan leaned against the desk with a coffee cup, looking at Yvette with amusement. "Don’t forget the 3,000-word review."

"Mr. Grant... what, what should I write?" Yvette stammered.

"Did you block Henry Jennings’ number?" Ethan suddenly shifted the topic.

Feeling a bit guilty, Yvette nervously clenched her fingers. "No... no, I can’t, block it..."

With a stern face, Ethan put down the coffee cup. "Write your review thoroughly! You’re not leaving if you don’t finish."

"..." Yvette was puzzled. What should she be reflecting on?
