The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two
Chapter 121: Ethan Grant Says Yvette Aston Belongs to Him
CHAPTER 121: CHAPTER 121: ETHAN GRANT SAYS YVETTE ASTON BELONGS TO HIM
Second floor, executive dining area.
This area is exclusively for company executives; the restaurant’s ambiance is exceptional, comparable to a five-star hotel.
Yvette felt like Granny Larson entering Grandview Garden; the difference between here and the Western dining area is stark. It’s lively over there, but quiet and sophisticated here.
"Is it okay to just... eat these?" Yvette pointed at the fruit and snack areas.
Christopher chuckled. "Yes, eat as you please."
Perhaps Yvette’s abilities had earned Christopher’s recognition; unbeknownst to her, his attitude towards her had shifted.
Yvette looked at the neatly sliced fruits in the fresh zone with delight, a smile on her face.
She might not have realized it herself, but her mood had significantly improved lately. "These fruits are quite expensive."
Yvette picked some and mumbled to herself.
Christopher noticed Yvette’s frugal demeanor. "You should eat more; look at how thin you are. The white and thin aesthetic is unhealthy; men should appreciate curvy women. Look at you, just skin and bones. How can you have presence when others are fully shapely?"
"..." Yvette looked down at her chest, her throat moved, but she said nothing.
Actually, she’s quite plump, just looks slim...
"Have more of this, and this." Christopher was truly treating Yvette as one of his own, piling food onto her plate.
Yvette hurriedly accepted, stammering as she spoke. "Can’t... can’t eat all..."
"Too much..." Yvette almost dropped the plate on the ground.
From behind, a hand reached out to help her hold the plate.
Startled, Yvette turned to see and gasped, "Mr. Grant..."
"Mr. Grant, the doctor advised you to stay fasting at noon." Christopher wondered why Ethan Grant had come down.
Ethan remained stern, contemplating when to reassign Christopher. "Have some porridge."
Christopher nodded. "You take a seat, I’ll get it for you!"
Ethan carried the plate away for Yvette, who stood there for a long time feeling uneasy.
Luckily, there was no one in the executive dining area...
Otherwise, Ethan helping her with the plate would be on company headlines tomorrow.
"How attractive is Grant Group’s staff meal to you?" Henry Jennings walked in, holding Yvette’s wrist, he asked helplessly.
Yvette flinched, pulling her wrist away.
Henry stood by Yvette, yet his gaze was directed at Ethan. "How about we eat out? Let me ask Mr. Grant for some time off?"
Clearly, Henry was doing this for Ethan to see.
"My people don’t get time off." Ethan spoke coldly with a stern face.
"Ethan Grant!" Henry was getting a little impatient.
Ethan, however, appeared calm and composed, sitting there like a noble stepped out from a fairy tale world.
Yvette didn’t dare look at Ethan; this man seemed dazzling.
"President Jennings! Please try our chef’s cooking, whatever’s available outside, we have it all here. Feel free to choose!" Christopher sprinted over to appease Henry. "President Jennings, please have a seat."
Then pulled out a chair for Henry. "Yvette, why aren’t you pouring water for President Jennings."
Yvette nodded quickly, running to get water for Henry.
With only Henry and Ethan left, Henry spoke gravely. "Ethan Grant, what do you mean by this?"
Obviously, Ethan intends to compete with him.
"No particular meaning; she is now with me." Ethan spoke calmly.
Henry clenched his fists tightly. "How long do you think she can last at Grant Group?"
"As long as I’m at Grant Group, she will be safe."
Ethan’s aura was not weak at all; just one glance between them could ignite sparks.
"Let’s see then." Henry sneered.
He didn’t believe Ethan could truly protect Yvette.
It’s just talk; when Yvette becomes a burden he must discard, Henry doesn’t believe Ethan could stand against all of Grant Group for her, nor against the entire business circle.
Henry knew well that even if he didn’t act, within Grant Group, Melody Crowe, Charlotte Summers, the Bell Family, the Aston Family, and even the Grant Family would intervene.
All he needed to do was watch quietly.
Watch Ethan lose.
"President Jennings, your water." Yvette handed Henry the water, whispering softly, "What would you like to eat?"
Henry leaned back in his chair, a smile on his lips. "Since Mr. Grant is treating, let him order for me."
Ethan kept a stern face, saying nothing.
Yvette took a deep breath, stammering, "Mr. Grant..."
"Tell the chef, President Jennings likes working out; keep it light, no oil or salt, just boiled chicken breast, boiled eggs, and greens in water." Ethan’s lips curled up.
Yvette blinked; would that even taste good?
Once Yvette left, Henry spoke, "Ethan Grant, I used to not find you this childish."
"Same here." Ethan snorted.
Henry gritted his teeth. "Let’s see who will win in the end; she’s mine, the mother of my son."
"You’ve already lost." Ethan had no intention of telling Henry that he and Yvette are now legally married, with a certificate.
"It’s just the start." Henry was confident that Ethan wouldn’t hold on for long.
...
The Aston Family.
Charlotte Summers lay in bed; ever since she faked fainting at the entrance of Grant Group, she’s been playing the role of a fragile person.
"Charlotte, how’s your health?" May Kendrick was worried for her daughter, looking angry. "These days, I’ve been busy taking care of you and haven’t found time to settle scores with her."
How bold, to dare act against her daughter in front of everyone.
"Mom... Yvette might not have done it on purpose." Charlotte spoke weakly.
"Don’t defend her, stop calling her sister, she doesn’t deserve it!" May was filled with rage.
"Madam, Wendy Bell, the eldest daughter of the Bell Family, is here to see Charlotte." The maid quietly spoke from outside.
Charlotte was taken aback, Wendy Bell?
She never had any deep connections with Wendy, who has a solitary personality and prefers quietness; they’ve only nodded at parties over the years. What’s her intention in coming today?
"Please usher her in." May smiled as she spoke. "Charlotte, chat with your friends; today no matter what, Mom will get you justice."
Leaving Charlotte’s bedroom, May walked into the living room with a stern face. "Stellan, your sister has been bullied, and you just sit there watching? What are you waiting for, go and bring Yvette back!"
"Mom..." Stellan felt a headache coming on. "This incident really wasn’t Yvette’s fault."
"Stellan, are you favoring Yvette now?" May shot her son an angry look.
Stellan looked down in silence. "Ethan Grant had Christopher send me the surveillance footage from Grant Group’s entrance that day, filmed from three angles, each very clear, and he even had them slow-motioned for me to see clearly."
Stellan knew that this was Ethan warning him.
Warning him not to act against Yvette.
"Moreover... Tanglewood Bay’s project, Grant Group delayed the final payment within the contract period, our funds are not circulating well." Stellan hadn’t expected Ethan to go to such lengths for Yvette.
Grant Group and the Aston Family have marital ties, so Grant Group’s finances always prioritize payments to the Aston Family. But because he pushed Yvette at the door that day, the project team said that night funds would follow the contract’s final terms.
The Aston Family had become accustomed to early payments from Grant Group; this delay caused financial strain, extending construction time, significantly impacting Aston’s project reputation, among other things, resulting in a butterfly effect.
Thus, Ethan Grant is truly terrifying; he can nearly collapse large companies reliant on Grant Group with a mere flick of his fingers.
Fortunately, the Aston Family has remained stable over the years, and Ethan hasn’t acted too ruthlessly against them.
