The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two
Chapter 169: Ethan Grant Wants the Bell Family to Disappear
CHAPTER 169: CHAPTER 169: ETHAN GRANT WANTS THE BELL FAMILY TO DISAPPEAR
Meridia Paternity Test Center.
Wendy Bell’s car was parked downstairs.
"Miss, you guessed right. Ethan Grant is indeed suspicious; he proactively contacted Zane Quinn."
Zane Quinn was Ethan Grant’s childhood friend and worked at this test center. Wendy Bell guessed Ethan Grant wouldn’t trust anyone else, so he would definitely find Zane Quinn.
With a cold sneer, Wendy Bell spoke: "This couldn’t have been easier, could it?"
She’d expended so much effort trying to acquire Ethan Grant’s hair, but a tiger like Ethan Grant would never let anyone pluck his fur.
She would have to find another way.
"Do as I told you." Wendy Bell got out of the car.
Zane Quinn’s car was parked at the entrance, holding a sealed bag containing Ethan Grant and Summers’ hair as he walked toward the test center.
"Bang!" Suddenly, a muffled sound followed by the alarm of the car.
Zane Quinn glanced back. "Damn!"
An idiot had smashed his car with a huge rock!
"What’s going on with security? How did he get in?" Zane Quinn was heartbroken; this car was newly bought, over three million!
"Quick, catch him!" Zane Quinn was almost jumping in frustration.
"Bang!" Someone accidentally bumped into Zane Quinn, causing the sealed bag in his hand to fall to the ground.
Wendy Bell bent over smoothly, swapped the sealed bag, and smiled as she handed it back to Zane Quinn. "Sorry, excuse me, I was in a hurry."
"It’s okay." Zane Quinn glanced at Wendy Bell, squinting his eyes.
Wendy Bell apologized briefly and left directly.
Walking into the alley, Wendy Bell took a deep breath to calm her nerves, looking at the sealed bag in her hand.
Ha...
"I’ve got the hair sample, test it immediately, I want to know the result." Wendy Bell made a call.
...
Ethan Grant’s house.
"Stephen Sinclair, who gave you permission to be picky?" Seeing Stephen Sinclair only eat meat and not vegetables, Ethan Grant tapped his head with chopsticks.
Stephen Sinclair rubbed his head and spoke sullenly. "Uncle, I don’t like veggies."
"Speak properly." Ethan Grant, having a double standard for children, thought Summers speaking reduplicated words was cute, while Stephen Sinclair saying them deserved a scolding. "Vegetables are nutritious."
"My mom’s vegetables are tasty too." Summers served some vegetables to Stephen Sinclair.
Stephen Sinclair looked curious. "Really? Your mom is amazing, my mom never goes into the kitchen, barely eats with me, and Dad doesn’t come home."
Yvette Aston froze for a moment, looking at Ethan Grant.
How could Chase Sinclair treat his child like this?
"I called Chase Sinclair, he didn’t answer, and Chelsea Grant got drunk, these two are just..." Ethan Grant wanted to curse but held back in front of the child.
Really have no idea how such scumbags can be parents.
"Regardless of the reason, parents who can’t be with their children aren’t worth forgiving." Yvette Aston’s voice was hoarse, she ate rice with her head down.
She served five years in prison, missing five years of Summers’ life.
She didn’t even give Summers a complete family.
Ethan Grant’s hand holding the chopsticks became numb, feeling increasingly guilty.
"If... Summers’ father didn’t know of his existence before, but tried desperately to make amends after knowing, could he... possibly be forgiven?" Ethan Grant asked softly, not even realizing his cautiousness.
Yvette Aston paused, Henry Jennings had more than once offered to make amends, but she didn’t need his amends. "No, can’t be forgiven."
She couldn’t forgive herself for causing Summers’ lack nor forgive the harm done to her that night.
"If... I’m just saying if, that day at Montville I didn’t take you away to cooperate, what would you do?" Ethan Grant very much wanted to know if, with no other options, how Yvette Aston would respond.
"Hand Summers over to Henry Jennings, then disappear..." Yvette Aston said truthfully.
She would go to donate a kidney to Charlotte Summers, atone for all sins, and die on the operating table...
Ethan Grant’s heart ached and felt numb, he put down the chopsticks and abruptly stood up.
"Mr. Grant, not eating anymore?" Yvette Aston asked nervously, was the food not to his liking?
Ethan Grant shook his head. "No... no, I suddenly feel a bit uncomfortable in my stomach, I’ll take a call."
The incoming call showed it was Zane Quinn.
Holding the phone, Ethan Grant absent-mindedly walked into the study, looking grim.
His breathing was a bit rapid, he suddenly didn’t want to know the truth.
Preferably, there’d be no truth for life.
Let him do his best to make up to Yvette Aston and Summers.
"Ethan Grant, the result is out, do you want to know?" Zane Quinn called.
Ethan Grant’s voice was hoarse. "Don’t want to know."
"Why aren’t you playing by the book?" Zane Quinn laughed. "Come on."
"Hmm, want to know, speak." Ethan Grant’s fingers were numb rubbing his brow.
"Want to know, buy me a new Bentley, my car was smashed." Zane Quinn gritted his teeth.
Ethan Grant’s eyes darkened. "You offended someone?"
"Whom could I have offended? Today is just an unlucky day." Zane Quinn cursed.
"Alright, stop messing around." Ethan Grant was already prepared.
"The sample isn’t qualified, can’t be tested." Zane Quinn said. "However, I suspect the sample was swapped, suggest you bring the child again for a test, because the two samples from the chromosome test seem to belong to two women."
Zane Quinn laughed. "Ethan Grant, turns out you’re a woman huh?"
Ethan Grant rubbed his brow. "Stop joking, car got smashed, sample swapped, you still have the nerve to call me?"
He shouldn’t have trusted Zane Quinn.
"You should worry about your sister-in-law now, that woman’s mind is definitely meticulous, your sister-in-law might not be her match." Zane Quinn said lazily.
"Woman?" Ethan Grant frowned.
"I thought carefully, after my car was smashed, a woman bumped into me head-on, dropping the sample, then she picked it up for me. I checked the parking lot surveillance, and by coincidence, saw her swapping the sample." Zane Quinn laughed. "Wouldn’t you say the woman scheming against you is really unlucky? She probably doesn’t know what I do, right?"
The paternity test center was Zane Quinn’s, and he was also a private investigator.
"Stop beating around the bush with me." Ethan Grant’s anger was already being suppressed.
"Wendy Bell, your little fling." Zane Quinn said smiling. "When you asked me to investigate the matter six years ago, I already suspected it wasn’t Wendy Bell; her attempts to win over you almost jumped on my face. If it was her that night, it wouldn’t be possible for her to stay silent for six years. But the time is too long, the overwritten surveillance video can’t be recovered, she confessed, and you can only hang your head."
Ethan Grant frowned.
"Of course, I suggest you bring the child here for a proper procedure to my place for testing." Zane Quinn wanted Ethan Grant to bring Summers over.
"No need..." Ethan Grant clenched his fingers.
He couldn’t let Yvette Aston sense anything.
Nor dare let Yvette Aston know...
If she found out the person who harmed her that night was him.
Ethan Grant felt scared.
"This matter, keep it confidential, I’ll handle Wendy Bell myself." Ethan Grant warned Zane Quinn.
"You’re insulting my profession." Zane Quinn scoffed. "Have time to let me meet your sister-in-law?"
"No time." Ethan Grant directly hung up the phone.
Wendy Bell...
It seems the Bell Family should disappear.
...
Bell Family.
Wendy Bell sat by the window drinking red wine, received a call.
"The test result is out, the parties tested have a father-son relationship."
The wine glass in her hand shattered on the floor, Wendy Bell trembling all over.
Summers... was indeed Ethan Grant’s son.
Absolutely cannot let Summers and Yvette Aston continue to stay in Meridia.
She would stop at nothing, to make Yvette Aston and Summers disappear.
