The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two
Chapter 19: Is Chase Sinclair Summers’ Father?
CHAPTER 19: CHAPTER 19: IS CHASE SINCLAIR SUMMERS’ FATHER?
Chase Sinclair frowned and glanced at Jayden Grant. "Why is Yvette Aston here?"
"Brother-in-law seems quite concerned about her." Jayden Grant said in a low voice as he walked up to Chase Sinclair. "I remember that night at the banquet, brother-in-law was there too, but left halfway, met someone... Yvette’s child... could it be yours?"
Over the years, Jayden Grant had been unwilling to let go and had always been investigating who the man was that slept with Yvette Aston back then.
He had looked into a few people, but with both the time and motive, Chase Sinclair was at the top of the list.
Back then, Yvette Aston, as the eldest daughter of The Aston Family, naturally had many suitors.
To Chase Sinclair, Yvette Aston was the white moonlight in his heart.
And to many others, she was a pure white jasmine flower.
Unfortunately... none of these people saw Yvette Aston’s true nature, vicious, deceitful, filthy, lowly.
Yvette Aston looked up in panic at Chase Sinclair. Was that man on that night really Chase?
Jayden Grant must have investigated, otherwise he wouldn’t be accusing his brother-in-law so casually, especially with Chelsea Grant present.
And Chase Sinclair, did not offer any explanation.
Summers blinked, staring intently at Chase Sinclair. "Are you my dad?"
Chase Sinclair glanced at Summers, his gaze falling on Yvette Aston.
If he admitted it, would Yvette go with him?
"Yvette..." Chase Sinclair raised his hand, wanting to help Yvette up.
But Yvette instinctively dodged, looking at Chase Sinclair in terror.
Was the man who forced her that night really Chase Sinclair?
"So it is you." Jayden Grant, seeing Chase Sinclair’s lack of explanation, went forward and punched him in the face. "You dare treat my sister like this! Yvette, that dirty woman, a filthy trollop who can’t live without men, and she actually bore you a child, ha..."
Jayden Grant was somewhat frenzied.
Chase Sinclair watched Jayden Grant with cold eyes. "As you belittle Yvette, think about your sister, how did Stephen come about, she knows best."
Chelsea Grant instinctively turned away, her eyes angrily fixed on Yvette.
Yvette clutched Summers tightly, breathing rapidly.
Was the man that night really Chase Sinclair?
Her eyes hurt terribly, as hot tears streamed down when she lowered her head.
Five years ago, when she was sent to court by The Aston Family and the Grant Family, not a single person dared to stand up for her.
Including Chase Sinclair.
To Yvette, Chase Sinclair and Tom Ziegler were all the same, all villains.
"I wondered why you were suddenly so eager to come back and divorce me, turns out you knew that tramp Yvette was released." Chelsea Grant laughed, her laughter full of irony.
She raised a hand and slapped Yvette, looking at Chase Sinclair with intense anger. "I tell you Chase Sinclair, even if we divorce, I won’t let you and this woman have it easy."
Chase Sinclair frowned, shielding Yvette. "I will take her away, try to lay a hand on her again."
"That little bastard is really your son..." Chelsea Grant also went a little mad, grabbing Chase Sinclair’s collar and yelling. "Have I not been good to you all these years? When The Sinclair Family was in trouble, it was my father who helped you, and this is how you repay me!"
Chase Sinclair’s face was very somber, and he said nothing.
Yvette’s face was red and swollen, painfully burning.
"Mom... does it hurt?" Summers cried and asked.
Yvette shook her head, having already gotten used to it.
Jayden Grant looked at Yvette with disgust. "You want to take her away? Just try."
"Jayden Grant! You dare lay a hand on a woman, are you even a man." Chase Sinclair grabbed Jayden Grant’s collar.
"What nonsense! All get inside!" Seeing Jayden Grant and Chase Sinclair about to fight over Yvette, Arthur Grant shouted in a low voice.
"Dad..." Jayden Grant quickly lowered his head and walked over with Chelsea Grant.
"Chase Sinclair, you come in too." Arthur Grant gave Chase Sinclair a meaningful look, his gaze falling on Yvette. "As for that woman, send her home first, it’s not proper for her to stay at the Grant Family."
"Dad..." Jayden Grant wanted to keep Yvette under his watch.
After all, only under his eyes could he be at ease.
But Jayden Grant dared not contradict Arthur Grant’s words.
He turned back, glared at Yvette threateningly, and signaled his assistant to send her back.
"Chase Sinclair, I heard you’re insisting on divorcing Chelsea?" Arthur Grant asked.
Chase Sinclair said nothing.
"Is there something Chelsea isn’t doing well?" Arthur Grant asked again.
Chase Sinclair looked down. "No... it’s my own reason."
"Dad! He’s been with that tramp Yvette all along, and the bastard she bore is Chase’s!" Chelsea Grant was certain the child was Chase Sinclair’s.
Chase Sinclair’s behavior earlier had clearly been an admission.
"Shut up!" Arthur Grant ordered Chelsea Grant to shut up.
Chelsea Grant, though full of grievances, didn’t dare say more and obediently kept quiet.
"Chase Sinclair, marriage isn’t child’s play, The Sinclair Family has been having some financial difficulties lately, your dad just came to me yesterday, go home and discuss it with your parents, you’re an adult, you should know better not to act impulsively."
Arthur Grant subtly reminded Chase Sinclair, also giving him a way out.
Chase Sinclair furrowed his brow and slowly clenched his fingers.
All these years, the Grant Family had been pressing The Sinclair Family through business dealings.
"As for Yvette and that child, I don’t care how you deal with it, just ensure it doesn’t affect the honor between the Grant and Sinclair families, understood?" Arthur Grant reminded him. "Show me what you’re capable of, how you handle Yvette and that child, we’ll see."
Arthur Grant intended for Chase Sinclair to show his loyalty by personally dealing with Yvette before he agreed to help The Sinclair Family through their difficulties.
