The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two
Chapter 27: Charlotte Summers Wants to Marry Yvette Aston to a Madman
CHAPTER 27: CHAPTER 27: CHARLOTTE SUMMERS WANTS TO MARRY YVETTE ASTON TO A MADMAN
"Smack!" The sound of something being smashed came from the bedroom.
Jayden Grant, worried about Charlotte Summers’ condition, quickly ran inside.
In the room, Yvette Aston stood in the corner, and at her feet were broken bowls and utensils.
"What was she plotting? She’s trying to kill me, it’s so hot!" Charlotte Summers said angrily, her eyes red. "Jayden, she wants me dead."
Yvette Aston looked down numbly, her hands hidden behind her.
The bowl of hot porridge had spilled all over the back of her hand, already scalded and painfully burning.
"Yvette, if you play any more tricks, don’t blame me for being rude to you." Jayden Grant always believed Charlotte Summers and looked at Yvette with disgust, holding Charlotte to comfort her.
Yvette was numb already, indifferent to any affectionate behavior the two displayed in front of her, because there was no love left.
She still remembered five years ago when this man personally sent her to prison, the pain was heart-wrenching.
Now, she felt nothing.
She even thought that Jayden Grant ought to belong with Charlotte Summers.
The two of them were truly a match made in heaven.
Crouching on the floor, Yvette absentmindedly gathered the broken pieces.
"Jayden, she doesn’t really want to take care of me, I don’t want to see her face." Charlotte Summers said with an aggrieved expression.
Jayden quickly reassured her. "Charlotte, I’ll make her do it willingly. She owes you and has to pay it back."
After saying this, Jayden looked coldly at Yvette. "If you dare provoke Charlotte again, just see which school in Meridia would dare accept that little brat of yours."
Yvette’s fingers stiffened while picking up the fragments, her fingertips cut by a shard, blood dripping down.
Jayden Grant always knew how to find her weak spot to threaten her.
Kneeling on the floor, Yvette was almost humiliated into the dust. "What do I have to do...to satisfy you?"
Yvette didn’t know what she could do to placate Charlotte’s resentment.
"Satisfy? Yvette, you took twenty years of my life; if we hadn’t been swapped, I should have been the Aston family’s eldest daughter. I should have enjoyed an elite education, piano, dance... I should have been the distinguished socialite of Meridia, while you were born to be trampled in the mud." Charlotte looked at Yvette with intense hatred.
She hated Yvette, and even ruining her wouldn’t alleviate the grudge.
She just wanted to see Yvette pulled off the pedestal, trampled into the mud, to destroy everything of Yvette’s, to cut off her limbs, ruin her reputation, make her life worse than death, living like a sewer rat.
Even so, her hatred couldn’t be quelled.
Why should everything that originally belonged to her be taken by Yvette!
"Jayden, is it okay for me to do anything to her?" Charlotte innocently asked, although she was actually speaking for Yvette to hear.
She just wanted to flaunt, to tell Yvette, everything you once had now belongs to me.
Brother Stellan belongs to me, Jayden Grant also belongs to me.
The two men who once protected Yvette the most, now could harm her wantonly for the sake of Charlotte Summers.
"Of course, she owes you. Anything you do is not too much." Jayden lowered his eyes and kissed Charlotte Summers’ fingertips indulgently. "But you have to be good, eat well, and heal properly, okay?"
Charlotte nodded obediently, but her voice sent chills down Yvette’s spine. "Seeing her work so hard, I kind of feel sorry..."
Jayden was silent, saying nothing.
"With Yvette’s reputation in Meridia, it must be hard for her to get married, right? Who would dare take her, don’t you think, Jayden?" Charlotte asked with a smile.
A woman who had given birth to a child for a wild man, sullied by countless men, possibly suffering from venereal disease, who would dare marry her?
Not to mention wealthy families, even ordinary people wouldn’t marry a woman like Yvette.
She had thoroughly ruined Yvette.
"I heard today the Grant Family’s housekeeper’s son is nearing forty and still hasn’t found a girlfriend. The housekeeper is worried sick about his son’s marriage. Even though Yvette’s reputation is bad and she has given birth, she should still be a fit for the housekeeper’s son, right?" Charlotte’s words pierced Yvette’s nerves like a knife.
Instinctively looking up at Jayden, Yvette’s eyes trembled nervously, clearly she was afraid.
The housekeeper’s son of the Grant Family had mental issues; when he went crazy, he liked to bite people. Yvette had heard of these things when she was eighteen, that he had tried to assault a maid, bit her, and beaten her up miserably, even embarrassing the Grant Family.
Jayden Grant was a member of the Grants, and undoubtedly knew better than anyone how miserable that maid had been.
It’s said she still couldn’t care for herself physically now...
Charlotte Summers was obviously doing it on purpose.
Jayden’s body also stiffened, he instinctively turned to look at Charlotte Summers.
Charlotte remained innocent. "What’s wrong, Jayden? I’m thinking of Yvette too. Doesn’t her child lack a father, can’t register for household, and no school would accept him? I just heard the maids talking today, thinking it would be a good match, so I asked."
Jayden let out a sigh of relief; Charlotte hadn’t lived in the Aston family for over twenty years and had no interaction with the Grants, naturally not knowing the housekeeper’s son had mental problems.
He thought it must not have been intentional. "The housekeeper’s son is not..."
"Yvette, could it be you still can’t forget the man you slept with at the hotel six years ago? Who exactly is he?" Charlotte knew exactly what Jayden’s blind spot was, and before he could refuse, she intentionally brought up the incident six years ago to provoke Jayden Grant.
To make him agree to throw Yvette to the mentally unstable man.
Only if Yvette was married, truly destroyed by someone, could Charlotte Summers sleep peacefully.
Otherwise, she could never sleep soundly, always afraid Yvette would return, to take Jayden Grant back.
