CHAPTER 184: CHAPTER 181- DON’T. MOVE.

"My cultivation base is too damaged for me to pick up on it. However, when I forcefully used a portion of my original cultivation to help all of you, I sensed that someone had rewritten the laws in this dimension. And hearing your story, the person who did it must have placed a law that dictates only those from your Forgotten Sect can obtain the Inheritances inside the Dimension."

Everyone was stunned upon hearing this.

"Then did Cheonma do it?"

Mar-Dule asked, but Little Abdu shook his head and said.

"I wish I could answer that question, but I was always inside Su Moon’s Palace. But whoever it was, this person had to be on par with Immortal Dai Shen to overwrite his Laws."

Upon hearing this, Sol thought to himself.

’Everyone is likely wondering what connection the Forgotten Sect has with the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension. But what I want to know is what connection Master has with the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension.’

As Sol was in his thoughts, he felt a gaze on him, and he turned to see Yoon-Jae staring at him.

Sol paused.

’That’s right, Uncle Master is Master’s Brother. Brother Yoon-Jae probably has the same questions as I do.’

"Wait! If only disciples of the Forgotten Sect can get the full Inheritance from the subsidiary Palaces, how come you were able to get Su Moon’s Inheritance, Brother Sol?"

Mar-Dule asked while turning to Sol, but Little Abdu interjected.

"Su Moon’s Palace wasn’t affected by the rewritten laws due to his Formation."

Mar-Dule’s face gained a look of understanding, but Sol thought to himself, even if that was the case, he might have been able to obtain Su Moon’s Inheritance, given that he was technically a disciple of the Forgotten Sect.

Sol shook his head. What were they doing? Now wasn’t the time for this.

"Let’s go. We don’t know exactly how many trials there are or what they are, so be careful."

Everyone nodded and refocused their attention on entering the palace.

Sol released his Heavenly Samsara Formation and pushed past the golden barrier with Yoon-Jae and Mar-Dule by his side. Ji-Hoon and the others followed right after.

Upon passing the barrier, Sol was met with eerily silent pitch darkness.

Sol heard Ji-Hoon and the others’ soft breaths as they came behind him.

"Is everyone here?"

"Yeah."

"Yes, Brother Sol.’

"I’m here..."

"Yeah...’

Everyone confirmed their presence.

"Why is it so dark?"

Mar-Dule asked.

"Hey brat, be careful."

Little Abdu suddenly warned on top of Sol’s head.

"What is it, Little Abdu?"

"Something is staring us."

A cold chill went down everyone’s spines.

Click!

"Hiccup! W-What was that sound?"

Mar-Dule was immediately on edge.

Flicker.

Suddenly, light appeared in this dark space, and everyone turned to look at Yoon-Jae, who had a fire floating above his palm.

"Look."

Yoon-Jae said, pushing his palm forward to light up a few meters ahead of them. Sol and everyone looked forward, only to see four pairs of eyes containing white pupils staring back at them.

Click.

Click.

It was a spider; one that reached up to their knees in height.

The clicking sound was a result of its mandibles snapping together.

"It’s a Spider-type Spirit Beast."

"A Spider-type Spirit Beast? I’ve never seen a Spirit Beast with so many eyes before."

Click.

Click.

Click.

Click.

Suddenly, the four pairs of eyes turned to sixteen, then twenty-four, and soon an uncountable number of eyes were staring at the group.

"Shit, it’s a nest. Most of them are as strong as a cultivator with acupoints open in two of their limbs. Let’s retreat outside, we can think of a way to deal with them there."

Heon-Tae made a suggestion, and everyone unanimously agreed.

However, as they tried to retreat through the barrier, they turned to see that it was gone.

What was behind them instead were more pairs of eyes.

"Fuck, that wasn’t a barrier, it was a Teleportation Array!"

Mar-Dule cursed.

Click.

Click.

Click.

In an instant, they were in another crisis, having been thrust into the middle of a spider nest.

Little Abdu suddenly stood up on Sol’s head.

"Let me handle it."

Little Abdu was about to leap off Sol’s head, but he was immediately caught by Sol mid-air before being placed back on top of his head.

"Little Abdu, your cultivation base dropped from the Spiritual Realm, didn’t it? Don’t do anything. Just focus on stabilizing your injuries."

Everyone, upon hearing Sol, felt their hearts sink to the pit of their stomach. Wasn’t Little Abdu their trump card coming here?

"Fuck, are we going to die in here?"

Mar-Dule asked, but Sol pointed out.

"They aren’t attacking us."

"Yeah, but they’re slowly approaching!"

One of the spiders drew closer and appeared inside the light that Yoon-Jae’s fire was releasing.

Click.

Click.

Its mandibles snapped ominously while a sickly black goo poured out of its mouth onto the ground. Its eight legs were silent as it carried its meter and a half body towards the eight youths.

The group retreated but had to stop due to the swarm behind them.

"What do we do? Do we attack?"

"Attack?"

Mar-Dule looked at Ji-Hoon with a frightened expression.

"We don’t know how many there are, or if there are stronger Spirit Beasts in this palace. Not to mention, we’re completely in the dark and at a disadvantage."

"Everyone, calm down."

Sol said as he looked at the approaching spiders. His eyes gained a dark glow, and he looked around.

They were inside a Palace Hall, but it was completely covered in... Sol didn’t know what these white thread-like things were. But it blocked him from seeing the Hall in its entirety.

After glancing around, Sol looked back at the spiders. He realized something.

Sol lifted his hand, and a ball of fire gathered on his palm. He then threw it into the crowd of the approaching spiders.

They all immediately scattered, but a second later, they started to approach the fire almost out of curiosity.

Screech!

One of the spiders that approached too close stepped inside the fire and had the hairs on one of its legs burned off.

"What’s with them?"

Mar-Dule, seeing this, was confused.

"They can’t see. They’re just following the source of the light."

Sol concluded.

"There’s a staircase that leads to the second-floor balcony behind us. Let’s head up there and then think about what to do."

Everyone nodded before Sol gathered another fireball in his palm and threw it out.

Yoon-Jae did the same, and the spiders all scattered.

The group then carefully made their way towards the stairs.

Yoon-Jae still had the fire on his palm as he led the way for them.

However, as they were about to reach the stairs, Little Abdu’s voice echoed out solemnly.

"Sol, I can still feel the gaze. It wasn’t those spiders."

Sol and everyone’s faces changed upon hearing that.

"Can’t you tell where it’s coming from?"

Yoon-Jae turned to look at Little Abdu.

Little Abdu shook his head.

Yoon-Jae then turned to Sol; he was the only one who could see inside this place.

Sol did a quick scan of the Hall once again, but it was covered in too many of those white threads that his vision was blocked at various angles.

"The entire Hall is covered in white thread-like substances, so I can’t see everything in the Hall."

"That’s called spiderwebs, Sol. Damn it, I don’t like this situation. We need to-"

SCREECH!!

SWOOSH!!

A loud cry of a beast echoed out, followed by an ear-piercing whistle that almost deafened everyone. The ominous whistling sound was immediately followed by a terrifying windstorm that brushed past Yoon-Jae’s head. It caused his robes and hair to flap uncontrollably. Even the fire on his hand danced wildly.

"Wh-What was that?"

Yoon-Jae turned to look behind him while lifting his palm. Meanwhile, Sol’s face turned pale.

"That was..."

Sol swiftly spun around and looked at the spiderwebs that were now being burnt away. He was shaken to the core.

"Everyone, don’t move, and don’t make a single sound."

Little Abdu on Sol’s head was looking in the same direction, his expression was even more solemn than before.

"Brother Cheong-San, use your Innate Dharma so everyone can see in the dark."

Cheong-San immediately began forming hand seals.

Bump.

Sol felt Yoon-Jae bump into him. He turned and saw Yoon-Jae had backed into him; his face was pale as he looked at the stairs behind him. Or rather, what was left of the stairs.

In the middle of it was now a hole that was around four meters in diameter.

"That... Was that an attack? I-It just brushed past me. If it were just a few inches to the left, I wouldn’t be alive right now."

This was too terrifying. There was no indication of an attack other than that ear-piercing whistle. But by the time the whistle echoed out, the attack had already reached them. There wasn’t even a sound of the attack hitting the stairs either.

Looking at the damage the stairs sustained, it seemed like the attack simply vaporized them without leaving a trace.

As Yoon-Jae was freaking out, Sol swiftly clamped his hand around the fire on Yoon-Jae’s palm.

Yoon-Jae turned to look at him, and it was at that moment that a third eye appeared on his forehead, allowing him to see in the pitch darkness.

"Oh, fuck."

"W-What is that?"

Upon hearing those exclamations, Yoon-Jae looked over at Mar-Dule and the others to see their faces go pale before they instinctively retreated several steps back.

"Brother Yoon-Jae, are you okay?"

Yoon-Jae turned away from them to look back at Sol, who had spoken, but he realized Sol wasn’t looking at him. He and the others had their gazes on the ceiling of the Hall.

"I’m fine..."

Yoon-Jae answered as he raised his head to see what Sol and everyone were looking at.

"!!!???"

Immediately, Yoon-Jae’s scalp went numb, and a cold chill went down his spine.

On the other side of the Hall, the spiderwebs were fully burnt away to reveal the creature that had etched itself in the corner of the ceiling.

Its eight legs expertly balance its massive body on the thin, silk-like webs, while its eight big black eyes stare at the group of eight youths.

"Don’t. Move."

Sol enunciated in a solemn voice.
