The Growth of a Titan in the Cultivation World
Chapter 185 - 182- Separated
CHAPTER 185: CHAPTER 182- SEPARATED
Sol formed a hand seal and sent out his Heavenly Samsara Formation to cover everyone. Their figures then disappeared from the Hall.
"What do we do? Sol, what do we do?!"
Mar-Dule dropped all etiquette and directly called Sol by his name.
Twitch.
The monstrosity of a Spirit Beast suddenly shifted.
Yoon-Jae’s face went pale before he growled softly.
"First, start by lowering your voice, bastard!"
"Hiccup!"
Yoon-Jae turned to glare at Mar-Dule with his eyes wide open.
"What is that? Stop doing that!"
"I can’t... *Hiccup!*... help it. I hiccup when I’m nervous."
"Hicc-"
Before Mar-Dule could continue his hiccupping fit, Cheong-Su covered his mouth.
Everyone then looked at the motionless Spider Spirit Beast on the ceiling. Just like the spiders from before, it wasn’t attacking them.
"It can’t see us right, Brother Sol?"
Heon-Tae asked.
"I don’t know about that Third Brother, isn’t it looking directly at us?"
Ji-Hoon countered, and Sol frowned.
"Maybe it’s waiting for us to move before devouring us. I heard that monsters like this love it when their prey struggles."
Everyone turned to look at Yoon-Jae with dumbfounded expressions.
Why say such ominous things in this situation?
Meanwhile, Sol turned to observe the Spider. He wondered if it was seeing through his Heavenly Samsara Formation. If that was the case, the situation was worse than he thought, as this spider was obviously the mother that gave birth to these smaller ones.
’But where’s the father?’
Sol looked around, hoping another Spirit Beast wasn’t hidden within the webs. Soon, his gaze landed on a massive ball of spiderweb on the ground below the Mother Spider. At first, he thought nothing of it because he hadn’t sensed any life force from it, but judging by its shape, it could likely be the corpse of the father.
"Should we fight it?"
Cheong-San looked at his brother, and I wanted to ask him if he had gone mad. But he opted not to use his Divine Sense to speak in this situation because perhaps the Mother Spider could sense his Divine Sense fluctuations.
"You want to fight that thing? It’s at least a Quasi-Spiritual Realm Beast. It could even be in the Spiritual Realm!"
Mar-Dule took Cheong-Su’s hand off his mouth to say.
*Hiccup!*
Cheong-Su clamped his hand back over Mar-Dule’s mouth while saying.
"It was only a suggestion, and we can’t possibly stay here forever, right?"
SCREEECH!!!
A vicious roar from the Mother Spider suddenly pierced the eerily silent darkness.
Click!
Click!
Click!
Click!
The smaller spiders all turned frenzied as if they had been stimulated.
"Fuck!"
Heon-Tae cursed as small spiders suddenly began rushing towards them, all while stumbling over each other.
"Damn it, how are they able to know where we are? Is it the Mother Spider?"
"Looks like we can’t avoid fighting!"
Sol yelled before Ji-Hoon and everyone readied their weapons.
With a flip of his hand, Sol brought out his divine bow and knocked it back. Fire Aether Energy began to gather around him at unimaginable speeds.
"Sol..."
"No, Little Abdu, focus on recovering your cultivation. I’ll protect you."
Little Abdu didn’t push any further, but at the back of his mind, he was thinking that if things got too dangerous, he was going to step in. Even if his injuries reached the point of no recovery.
Sol wasn’t a fool; he knew what Little Abdu was thinking.
"We’re getting out of here. If this is a part of the trial, then there must be some way to pass it!"
Screech!
The smaller spiders released screeches of their own as they pounced at the group. They resemble a tidal wave as they bore down on the group, hoping to drown them and devour their flesh.
Swish!
Swish!
A pink and golden light burst forth as Byeong-Ho and Heon-Tae swung out at the tide of spiders in front. A flaming arrow gathered between Sol’s bow before he fired it to the left.
Mar-Dule and Ji-Hoon swung to the right, while Yoon-Jae swiftly turned around and took a step forward. A raging wave of crimson flames that momentarily lit up a few dozen meters of the Hall slammed into the tide of spiders from behind.
Their combined attack was enough to break the tide of spiders, but there were too many of them. As one wave was destroyed, another far stronger followed it.
"Shit! This is the worst situation! *Hiccup!*"
Bang!
A torrential amount of Metal-type Aether Energy erupted from Mar-Dule’s body. His eyes glowed with a vicious look as he leaped forward and slashed down with his twin sabers.
Two saber arcs filled with immense power tore through the incoming spiders and even left two long trails of destruction on the ground.
The spider’s bodies burst into a gory mess of green goo, having died in an instant. However, more appeared and rushed towards Mar-Dule.
"Idiot! Don’t step out of the Formation!"
*Hiccup!*
Mar-Dule hiccupped, and his scalp tingled as the swarm of spiders immediately surrounded him.
"Fuck, he’s dead."
Yoon-Jae cursed, but Cheong-San suddenly stepped forward. He formed a hand seal and then pointed at Mar-Dule.
The third eye on Mar-Dule’s forehead released a golden aura that spilled out to cover the spiders around him.
In an instant, all the spiders that the light covered gain an additional eye.
These spiders stopped in their tracks before turning around and attacking the others behind them. They were even more vicious than before, sacrificing limb and life to kill as many of their brothers and sisters as possible.
Mar-Dule took the opportunity to retreat into Sol’s Formation.
"I think I know what this trial is."
Cheong-San said.
"But, it might be too much for me to handle."
Cheong-San’s face was slightly pale. Controlling this many Spirit Beasts when he barely had any experience was severely taxing.
However, he still waved his hand and summoned his Innate Dharma. When it appeared, the golden eye observed the spiders and captured them in its pupils. Cheong-San’s Divine Sense then went through his Innate Dharma and spread out to the spiders, forming a link.
Nearly a hundred spiders fell under his control and started attacking the other spiders.
This was to buy them time to recuperate; however, the swarm of spiders trampled the ones under Cheong-San’s control to pounce on the group.
Sol and the others got ready to attack, but Little Abdu’s face suddenly changed.
"LOOK OUT!"
SWOOSH!
All the hairs on Yoon-Jae’s body stood on end as he felt the familiar breeze.
The wave of spiders that was about to pounce on them was vaporized by a four-meter-thick pillar of black energy.
Having been alerted by Little Abdu, everyone managed to dodge the attack on time. However, the attack was like a laser beam, and it destroyed the ground before moving up and severing a nearby pillar in half.
The pillar was large, almost forty meters thick. When it fell, it resulted in a massive shockwave that shook the entire palace.
The ground was destroyed along with the smaller spiders that were unfortunate to be in the way.
As a cloud of dust engulfed a portion of the hall, Sol remained crouched on the edge of the second floor’s balcony.
He was separated from everyone by that one attack, leaving him with only Abdu on his head.
His only comfort was the fact that there was no adverse effect of being in the Hall without an Inheritance from the Subsidiary Palaces, so Yoon-Jae, Mar-Dule, and Ji-Hoon were fine.
Screech!
The spiders had made their way onto the second floor.
Sol’s eyes narrowed, and he didn’t hesitate to punch out at one that leapt towards his face.
