CHAPTER 531: CHAPTER 531: DON’T BE ANGRY ANYMORE
After disembarking from the ship, Paige Sterling said, "I want to go to the mall to buy some things."
"Whatever you need, just tell me, and I’ll have someone bring it over."
Paige said casually, "I want to buy them myself. What? You don’t trust me?"
Henry Hale paused in silence for a moment, lost in thought, then said, "Indeed, you do need some things. I’ll accompany you."
So, Henry took Paige to a nearby mall, and he reminded her, "Buy something warmer; the place we’re going will be quite cold."
Paige glanced at him but didn’t follow his advice; she just bought what she liked.
After selecting the clothes she liked, Paige took them to the fitting room.
Sitting on a rest sofa, Henry saw her heading inside and stood up, "You’re going to try them on?"
Paige asked, "How will I know if they suit me without trying them on?"
"Everything looks good on you; you look great in anything."
Paige chuckled, "Move out of the way, I want to try these on."
Seeing her determination, Henry didn’t want to spoil her mood and said helplessly, "Alright then, finish trying them on as soon as you can. I’ll wait for you outside."
Paige entered the fitting room; it was spacious, divided into many small cubicles separated by thick curtains. She went into one of them.
She sat inside for a while before starting to change, only to be interrupted by a woman pulling open the curtain, "Sorry, I thought no one was in here."
The woman was speaking in Veridian and appeared to be from Veridia.
Closing the curtain and leaving, the woman suddenly opened it again after a moment, staring at Paige in shock, "Aren’t you God Sterling?"
Paige nodded at her, the woman appeared excited, "Oh my god, you really are God Sterling! God Sterling! Are you here for a trip too?"
Paige remained silent, the woman looked around the bodyguards outside, then asked quietly, "God Sterling, is there something you can’t say?"
God Sterling is so incredible, previously there were assassination attempts... Is there trouble for God Sterling this time too?
The woman became nervous, "God Sterling, have you been kidnapped? Can I help you in any way?"
Paige shook her head; Henry Hale was not a good person, and she didn’t want to involve innocent people.
However, the woman still wouldn’t leave, "God Sterling, I have friends outside. If something happens, tell me, and I’ll notify them so we can help protect you."
Paige continued shaking her head, "I’m fine, you don’t need to help me."
Saying that, Paige quickly changed and left.
Yet the woman was still full of suspicions. After going outside, she kept observing Paige’s companions. Henry Hale was wearing sunglasses, so she didn’t recognize him right away; she only felt that something must be wrong with God Sterling, otherwise why would those bodyguards follow so closely, as if they were guarding a thief?
She became anxious, wanting to help Paige but fearing that by doing so she would alert the wrong people, who might then hurt Paige.
Watching Paige exit, Henry breathed a sigh of relief, "I told you, everything looks good on you."
Paige didn’t say anything, just stood in front of the mirror.
Henry approached her and whispered, "That woman kept watching you. What does she want? Hmm?"
He stood very close to Paige, from certain angles it seemed as if he was holding her waist, appearing very intimate.
Seeing Paige silent, Henry’s smile grew more malicious, "She probably wants to help you, so why didn’t you cooperate with her? Afraid I’ll find out and do something to her?"
Paige coldly stared at Henry through the mirror.
Henry didn’t like how she always remained emotionless; he wanted to see genuine reactions on her face.
With a bit of malice, he suddenly ordered the bodyguards to threaten the store, driving out everyone and closing the door.
The woman who had spoken to Paige and her friends were left behind, surrounded by Henry’s bodyguards.
They appeared terrified, "What are you going to do?"
Henry chuckled, "You wanted to help her, right?"
The women glared at Henry, "What do you plan to do to God Sterling?"
"Naturally, I wouldn’t harm her; she’s far more useful than you. You should worry more about what I might do to you."
The women trembled but kept glaring at Henry.
Paige said, "Henry Hale, that’s enough."
Seeing her speak, Henry replied, "How could it be enough? If someone dies because of you, I’m curious about how you’ll react."
"Do you really want to know?"
Henry raised an eyebrow, Paige said, "I can tell you, you don’t need to make things difficult for them; they pose no threat to you."
"If you want me to leave them alone, you must make me happy."
He smiled maliciously, "You know what you need to do to make me happy."
Paige’s expression remained cold as she walked over to Henry.
Watching her with interest, Henry was caught off guard when she suddenly slapped him across the face.
The room fell silent, and even the bodyguards couldn’t help but avert their eyes.
Paige asked Henry, "Is this making you happy, Mr. Hale?"
Henry’s smile froze, and after a while, it gradually faded, "Paige, it seems you really don’t care about their lives."
Paige slapped him again, "Mr. Hale, are you happy now?"
Henry, "..."
No one knew how long it went on, but Paige slapped him again, "If you’re still unhappy, I can keep slapping until you are."
Henry pursed his lips, and as Paige aimed another slap, he caught her hand.
"Alright."
His tone was like dealing with a child’s tantrum, "I’ll let them go. Don’t be angry anymore."
With that, he waved his hand.
The bodyguards immediately opened the door, pushing the women out, warning them not to call the police.
In such a place, calling the police wouldn’t help them anyway.
Henry intended to take Paige away, but she said, "I want to go to the restroom."
Henry nodded and let her go, but waited by the sink.
Paige emerged quickly, surprising Henry as he expected some trickery.
Sending a bodyguard in to check and confirm nothing was amiss, Henry then said, "Let’s go to the hotel for some rest."
Paige didn’t react much; she wasn’t in charge right now and didn’t want to speak.
But once in the car, she distanced herself from Henry.
Henry seemed somewhat exasperated, "Are you angry with me?"
Seeing her continue to ignore him, Henry moved closer, saying, "I was just trying to scare them, not intending to do anything. You’ve slapped me several times; isn’t that enough for you?"
Paige couldn’t fathom what went on in Henry’s mind.
She simply didn’t want to speak to him, unaware of what Henry was imagining.
