The Headline Queen: President Hawthorne is Her Die-Hard Fan!
Chapter 541: Moron
CHAPTER 541: CHAPTER 541: MORON
As soon as Simon Hawthorne closed the door and left, Julian Hawthorne reverted to his goofy self, sitting on the floor and clinging to Paige Sterling’s leg, refusing to let go.
Paige took a deep breath, telling herself to be patient with this daft man, to be patient...
After all, he was her choice.
"Julian, if you keep this up, I swear I’ll leave."
Only then did Julian stand up reluctantly, "I..."
Paige cut him off, "Shut up, listen to me!"
Julian shut up, and Paige stared at him seriously, "Once we have the wedding, we’ll officially be husband and wife. I think we need to establish some house rules, for example..."
But before she could finish, Julian tackled her to the ground.
"Whatever you say goes..."
Forget house rules, any rules would do.
Then Julian totally ignored the fact that they were in the office and started acting out of line.
Paige, "..."
This man could be so wild, she really couldn’t handle it.
Julian and Paige both made a trip back to the Sterling Family and Hawthorne Family to gather the elders’ opinions on the wedding.
Neither side’s elders had major objections.
This wedding should have happened a long time ago.
However, Mrs. Hawthorne seemed to have quite a big opinion about it.
But now at the Hawthorne Family, where no one was fond of her, she didn’t dare to make a scene, only quietly expressed her dissatisfaction.
"They’re already living together and have registered, what’s the point of a wedding? Isn’t it redundant?"
And why make it so grandiose, for what reason?
When she married into the Hawthorne Family, there wasn’t such pomp. Now her son was going to give the Sterling Family daughter such a grand wedding, wasn’t that a slap in her face?
Old Master Hawthorne’s face darkened first, giving Mrs. Hawthorne a glare.
Julian and Paige organizing a wedding was supposed to be a joyous occasion where everyone discussed the details together.
There hadn’t been such happy events in the Hawthorne Family for a long time. Old Master Hawthorne felt quite rejuvenated because of his grandson’s marriage.
Besides, having a wedding was normal. Although the two had registered, without a wedding, what would people think of Paige?
Mrs. Hawthorne really shouldn’t have said such things.
Seeing the expressions around her, Mrs. Hawthorne’s own expression soured a little.
"I’m Julian’s mother, I have a say in his marriage. I mean well for them, considering Paige’s unique status, such extravagance, what would people think? I’m just a devoted mother, yet no one understands me..."
She pretended to cry, wiping her tears, yet no one comforted her.
Before long, Julian and Paige left, Julian telling Paige, "Don’t mind what she says. I’ll handle everything about the wedding, you just prepare to be the bride."
Paige nodded, "Whatever you decide is fine."
Julian chuckled, "You’re going to let me have my way with everything? Am I going to become unstoppable?"
Paige, "You’re not that kind of person."
Julian’s grin widened, but the next second Paige calmly said, "You’re the type who, given an inch, would want the universe."
Julian, "..."
Paige extended her vacation since she needed to plan the wedding.
News of their wedding spread, and the entire internet was full of blessings.
Although Paige and Julian had long been married, as her best friend, Summer Xavier still felt there was a difference between having a wedding and not having one.
Who knows how Julian would end up controlling Paige in the future; she figured it might be exceedingly difficult to see Paige again.
Summer felt like crying and arranged to meet up with Paige for one last hurrah.
The so-called hurrah involved the two of them going to their old haunt, a noodle shop, and delightfully enjoying a bowl of noodles.
As Summer was eating, she felt like she was eating her tears.
"Wah wah, Paige, how can you marry someone else, wah wah, clearly it’s me who loves you the most..."
She cried so earnestly that the people in the noodle shop were looking at them with strange expressions.
Paige’s mouth twitched awkwardly, "Enough already."
"Not enough, not enough, wah wah, how can you abandon me? How can you not want me? You heartless jerk..."
Paige, "..."
She was too lazy to deal with Summer, letting her cry.
As Summer was crying, she leaned over to hug Paige, covering Paige in tears.
Paige regretted coming out with Summer, realizing she’s just a drama queen.
Just as Summer was crying uncontrollably, two groups of people suddenly entered the noodle shop.
The two groups were hilariously dressed, wearing oversized jackets, sleeves cut off, and leaving the front open to show off tattoos of a green dragon and white tiger on their arms, and a Mickey Mouse on their chests.
The tattoos were obviously some cheap stick-on type from some online store.
The funniest part was the guy with green hair at the front, who seemed to be the leader, had drawn abs on his bony chest with a pen, almost convincingly.
Seeing this eye-catching group of jesters, Paige couldn’t help but twitch her lips.
In the noodle shop, as soon as people saw this group of clowns, they quickly paid and left.
Their wary expressions were automatically interpreted by the two groups as reverence, making them hold their heads even higher as if accomplishing something of historical significance.
They were serious about their act.
The boss wore a troubled expression, "What would you two gentlemen like to eat today?"
The boss’s demeanor showed that these two groups were regular patrons.
On the right, Blondie, puffing on a big cigar, snorted, "We’re not eating today. We just want to borrow the place for a showdown, a final battle!"
The boss, "..." Can I not lend you the place?
However, the boss didn’t dare say no. These wannabe gangsters weren’t necessarily capable of murder and arson, but they were steadfast in their flamboyance, or else how could they dominate the internet with their antics?
Summer, unable to hold back her laughter, drew the wannabe gangsters’ attention.
Green hair glared at Summer, "What are you laughing at?"
Summer, "I’m laughing, what’s it to you?"
Looking as if possessed by an arrogant spirit, Green hair declared, "Woman, you’re talking to me like this? Do you know who stands before you?"
Summer’s eyes hurt from the sight, and Paige stood up, "Why waste words on a bunch of idiots? Let’s go."
The wannabe gangsters were incensed by Paige’s words.
Green hair, "Woman, what did you say? Did you just call me an idiot?"
Blondie, "Woman, you have no idea about my power! You’ll regret shooting your mouth off today!"
Paige looked numb, hardly believing how brain-dead young people could be nowadays.
Back in her high school days, she hadn’t encountered anyone like this.
Now these two groups surrounded her and Summer, not letting them leave.
