CHAPTER 351: I’M SIMPLY EXTRACTING INFORMATION

"Ha! I made eight gold today, top that, basrard!" The guard who said this was the same one who stopped Kai’s group eariler in the day. He threw the seven gold coins onto the table showing the others that he was telling the truth.

"Damn! How did you get that much coin?"

"Some new idiots moved into town. You know that Carlem fellow?"

"Yeah. The guy with the hot wife and daughters?"

"That’s the one. Well, he brought his extended family here, plus a few friends, and I got a coin from all of them! Drinks are on me, boys!"

"HAZAH!"

"Man, the new king is so much better than the last. We get to do whatever we want with no consequences and we still get paid." One guard smiled, eating some meat.

"I agree. Like, I just found out that one of the bitches I’m fucking is pregnant with my child. Her husband doesn’t even know. Ha, fucking sucker."

"Wait, aren’t you talking about the bitch who denied you food because you beat her husband?"

"Yup! That’s her. I made her my bitch after that. She hates it, but that pussy is amazing!"

"Hahaha! I bet!"

’Wow. These guys are horrible!’ Kai said as he was listening in on their conversation.

’Seriously? You’re one to talk.’ Leo invited himself into Kai’s head.

’Hey, at least I give them the luxury of hypnosis. These guys just had their way with the poor woman.’

Leo laughed. ’Whatever makes you feel better.’

’Shut up. You let your son beat me up.’

’Hey! That...Okay, it was my fault, but I apologized for that!’

’Horrible father and friend.’

’Leo’s heart shattered, and he sulked on Cassie’s legs while she played with their grandchildren.’

’Did you just narrate yourself?’

’Yes. Yes, I did.’

"I’m thinking about paying Carlem’s place a visit and getting a taste of his wife and daughters. What do you guys think?" The 8-Coin guard asked

"Let me join." The other guard pleaded

"There are nine holes between the three of them. All of us can get a turn."

’Disgusting bastards! How dare they talk about my future baby mothers like that!’ Kai revealed himself, walking over to them from the shadows.

"Hello, gentlemen." Kai greeted them.

"What the fuck?!"

"Who are you!?"

"How did you get in here?!"

All of them turned around and grabbed a weapon.

"I just followed you. Your awareness needs some work."

"What’s going to need work is your face when I’m done with you!" One of the guards wielding a club charged at Kai, swinging it with the intention of cracking his skull open.

Unfortunately for him, the club broke against Kai’s body, and with a single tap, the guard was eviscerated.

"Holy hell! Karlomire! You bastard!" The other guard, who had brass knuckles, charged at Kai and punched him in the face, only for his arm to be torn off by the rebounding of Kai’s energy.

"Arghhhh! Fuck! My arm!"

"Damn, that must hurt. Let me fix that for you." Kai plucked the guy’s head clean off, and it flew into a wall, splattering like a watermelon.

"And then there was one."

"P-Please! Don’t kill me! I-I’ll give you your gold back! Here, take it!"

"Oh, Carlie, I don’t want the money anymore."

"H-How did you know my name?"

Kai paused. "Your name is Carlie? I was just fucking around. Usually, all the useless people I meet are named Carl, so I usually go with that when I meet one. I can only remember three carls who are actually not useless."

"I-I can be one of them! I can be useful!"

Kai thought about it for a second, then accepted the guy’s proposal. "Okay, Carlie. Tell me, what do you know about the resistance?"

"The resistance? Not much. It’s not even known if they are real."

"Hmm. That isn’t being useful." Kai warned him.

"B-But! I did hear that if you act against the current rule, they will contact you."

"What is this? Elder Scrolls? No one is going to pop up next to my bed after I wake up, are they?"

"I-I don’t think so."

"Okay. So, what’s going on with the current king?"

Carlie gulped. "He was a former Solar Plexes. After gaining a mysterious power, he overthrew the king and queen, then made contact with the demon queen, and they are working together."

"I see. Wait...Demon Queen? As in a woman?"

"Y-Yes." He nodded.

’Fuck! I might not be able to kill her then. Honestly, I’ve always wanted to fuck a demon woman. I wonder if I can have children with them as well.’

’You can have kids with any sentient humanoid species in the infinite verse.’ Leo informed him.

’Rad!’

"Okay. So, this explains why demons are lurking around, even though I haven’t spotted one yet. Tell me about your hero."

"She’s injured."

"SHE?!" Kai was taken aback again. He was starting to think that he should have come to this continent first.

"Y-Yes. She. The hero and King Flexon battled each other. But she was injured and retreated to recuperate. After that, the king started spreading his influence all over the continent."

Kai nodded. "I see. This is great news. I need to meet with these resistance people. If I kill you, do you think they will come out to recruit me?"

Carlie started shaking even more than he already was. "N-No. BUT, that’s not me trying to keep my life. It’s just that I’m a nobody. If you want their attention, if they exist, then you would probably need to do something crazy. Like killing one of the important people in King Flexon’s circle."

"Or probably destroying something of his in some grand showing, right?"

Carlie nodded. "That could probably work."

"Sweet! Thanks for being useful, Carlie. I’m proud."

"T-Thank you, sir!"

"No problem." Kai blew the entire place up.

The explosion was so loud and destructive that it could be seen from miles away. Everyone in the town woke up to see what had happened, and all of the guards, no matter what their station was, ran over to find out what had happened.

"Why did our barracks suddenly explode?!"

"I don’t know! But we need to put out this fir-argh!" A brick was lodged in the head of the guard.

Kai walked out of the fire, his body and clothes unharmed and his face fully exposed. "Let’s make a dramatic scene, shall we?"
