Chapter 405: Saving the resistance guy
CHAPTER 405: SAVING THE RESISTANCE GUY
"The crimes of this individual are vile and disgusting. He has been caught having sex with a minor!" The soldier announced.
"Oh yeah! Kill his ass!" Kai shouted. "Chop off his dick first! Make him suffer!"
"Disgusting bastard!"
"Kill him!"
"Burn him alive!"
"It is great to see the citizens of this lovely city agree that this disgusting man deserves to die." The soldier smiled.
"Please! I was innocent!" The man shouted, struggling to get out of the restraints.
Kai read his mind to make sure the man was actually guilty, and surprise, surprise, he wasn’t.
"Stick a bomb into his ass and light him up like fireworks!" Kai shouted.
Everyone turned to him with weird expressions.
"My bad."
"The punishment for this crime is death!" The rope was cut, and the blade came falling down on his neck, killing him instantly.
"LETS GOOOOOOO!!!!! Yeahhh!!" He stuffed more popcorn in his face.
"Bring up the second law breaker!"
The soldiers brought up the second lawbreaker. This guy looked like someone who was constantly in trouble with the law and wasn’t bothered by being up on the stage.
"This man is up here for murder! That’s all I’m going to say. Kill him."
The blade dropped on the man’s neck, cutting it off cleanly.
"Bring up the third lawbreaker, please!"
"It was just one loaf! It was just a loaf! Please! I needed food for my child! Please don’t kill me!" A woman pleaded for her life.
"This woman’s crime is theft! Stealing the hard work of someone is not only a serious crime, but it’s a horrible act of inhumanity. Off with her head!"
’Nah, not this one.’ Kai made an illusion that made it seem like the woman’s head was cut off. In reality, Kai saved her, located her child from her memories, and then teleported them to Dunross.
’They should be fine there. I’ll hook them up with a place to stay.’
For the next twenty-five minutes, the soldier kept going over the list of crimes people committed and sentenced them to death. If the crime was serious, Kai didn’t do anything and watched them die, but it was not that big of a deal; he saved them in secret.
Finally, the last person to be executed was brought to the stage.
"This man is the leader of a group of people who are trying to overthrow our wonderful and amazing king! His companions have already been brought into custody, and we’re making a public showing of his execution for any one of you bastards that we missed."
’Ahh, so there’s one of our missing resistance members. He’s not looking too hot.’
"I will always be loyal to the old dynasty and will never serve that bastard Flaxom!" The man shouted.
"And for that, you traitor, you’ll die. OFF WITH HIS HEAD!"
The blade dropped with the speed to cut off his head, but before it could, it shattered.
"What? What happened? What did you do?"
"I-I didn’t do anything." The resistance man said in shock. He was expecting his world to go dark, but he was glad that he was still alive.
"Hey, hey. What’s going on, everybody? I hope you all are having a wonderful day." Kai stepped onto the stage, breaking the gillotine and freeing the man.
"Who are you? What are you doing on the stage? Do you want to die?" The soldier asked
"Uhh, no. But even if I did want to, I’m immortal. Hahahahaha!"
The crowd laughed as well, aggravating the soldier.
"Do you know that interrupting a public execution is a crime?!"
"Really? What’s the punishment?" Kai asked. "Let me guess, it’s death, isn’t it?"
"Yes! It’s death!"
"Ha, figured. Well, don’t mind me because I’m just here to take this man. We’ll get out of your hair and leave you up to your...well...whatever you do in the city."
The two other soldiers stood in Kai’s way, stopping him and the man from leaving.
"Oh no, you’re not going anywhere. You’ll be taken in, then KILLED later."
"Jeez, man. Did you have to emphasize that? I can hear you perfectly fine, you know?" Jin rubbed his ear, digging some earwax out of it and flicking it to the soldier.
"Arrest them!"
"Stand behind me!" The resistance guy urged.
"Nah, it’s okay. I got this." Kai grabbed the head of the first soldier that came close to him and squashed it like a fruit, then tossed his body into another soldier.
He appeared behind that soldier, stabbing him in the back with his hand, then ripped out his spine.
"I call that a fataility."
The last soldier, the one announcing things, backed away in fear. He didn’t want to die and knew he wasn’t strong enough to face Kai.
"W-Wait! Please! Hear me out!"
"Huh? Sorry, I can’t hear that well. But I do hear something in my ear telling me to kill you." Kai smirked
"Wait! Just listen to me! I was just following orders! Please! I have a family! Please!"
"Ugh, fine, go. But I don’t want to see you around here again!" Kai looked the man in the face with the most serious expression he had ever had.
"Yes! Yes! I understand." The soldier got up and ran for his life.
"Heh, what a dumbass." Kai made a finger gun and aimed it at the guy’s head. "Bang." A beam of light shot through the soldier’s head, killing him instantly.
"Now that we have gotten that taken care of. Would you like to come with me?" Kai asked the resistance man.
"You’re a part of the resistance, right?"
"Duh. Why else would I save your sorry ass? I don’t know you, dude. Come on, Sekmala wants to have a word with you."
"Lady Sekmala is here? Wait! I have to warn her! Our base isn’t safe! It’s compromised. Traitors have taken it over and are posing as the resistance!"
Kai sighed. "Yes, we know. They blew up the base back in the east and tried to wipe us out with an army not too long ago. But thanks to my girls, everything was handled. Now, we’re here to save your sorry asses."
"W-What? Wait, who are you?"
Kai smiled. "Me? I’m freaking Kai LuForia, man."
"Who?"
"Fuck off."
