CHAPTER 406: FREEING THE RESISTANCE

Since Kai knew that the resistance members weren’t killed and that they were located in the prison, he wasn’t worried about them being found or killed. They were already found in the first place, and the soldier said that they were wen’t going to be killed just yet.

Because of this, Kai was just walking through the city without any worries, acting chill and relaxed. Well, he would have been relaxed regardless, but he was being relaxed for his companions since they were probably panicking like crazy right now.

"U-Um, is this the way to Lady Sekmala?" The resistance man asked

"What’s your name, resistance man? I don’t wanna keep calling you that in my head." Kai asked the resistance man.

"I’m Fred."

"Ha! Fred. What a basic ass name. Nice to meet you, Fred."

"Y-Yeah. Nice to meet you, too."

"And no, this is not the way to Sekmala. We’re going to the prisons."

"R-Really?" Fred was actually trying to formulate a plan to infiltrate the prison to rescue his companions when he met up with Sekmala, but since Kai was already headed there, he was thankful that his friends wouldn’t need to suffer any longer.

"Yes. It doesn’t make any sense to rescue them later when we can do it right now, so let’s do it."

"Yes! Thank you! B-But, the prison is in the opposite direction."

Kai paused, taking his time to look behind him at Fred. "And you’re just now telling me this?"

"W-Well, I didn’t know you were going to the prison. My bad."

"No, it’s okay. I didn’t relay what I was doing to you, so it’s fine. Don’t beat yourself up over it." Kai started walking in the opposite direction, retracing his steps unintentionally.

---

"So this is the prison, huh? Looks like someone just put a bunch of metal bars inside a stone cube." That was literally how the prison looked from Kai’s perspective. It wasn’t grand or even eye-catching. Just a cube with metal bars.

"Huh. Now that you put it that way, I kind of see it." Fred agreed.

"Alright, let’s get moving." Kai walked up to the front gate, his path being blocked by four guards.

"Hault!"

"What business do you have with the prison?"

"Your mom." Kai slapped the head off the guard’s body who was in front of him, pointed a finger from both hands toward the other two guards, then used his heat vision to kill the last one.

"W-Whoa! What did you kill them for?"

Kai paused. "What do you mean? They are our enemies. We kill our enemies."

"But those guys could simply be doing their jobs. We don’t know whose affiliation they’re with."

Kai raised an eyebrow. "And? Is that important?"

"Absoluetly. These guys could be working to feed their families, and you just killed their provider. You have to think about the consequences of your actions." Fred emphasized.

"Nah. I don’t care about any of that shit. Let’s go." Kai busted down the doors, heading inside the prison.

Multiple guards came to attack the two of them, telling them to surrender and come quietly so they could be arrested. Kai simply walked past all of them; his aura alone was enough to make them drop dead in their track.

With his X-ray vision, he looked around to see where the prisoners were being kept and made his way there.

Kai made sure not to kill every guard because that would leave this place without people to manage it. Fred was thankful that Kai didn’t kill everyone and thought he was taking his words to heart.

When they reached a door at the end of a hall they took, Kai kicked it down.

"Sup, bitches! If you’re in the resistance, pack your things; it’s time to go. Sekmala is waiting for you all. Come on. Get a move on, people." Kai urged everyone.

"Who’s that guy?"

"Does he think we’ll fall for your tricks again?"

"Fucking disgusting dog."

Suddenly, Fred’s head popped out from behind Kai.

"No, guys, he’s legit! He saved me from being killed."

"Fred?"

"Freddy! My man! You’re alive!"

"I want to apologize to you, kind sir."

Kai quickly read everyone’s mind to make sure who was and who wasn’t a part of the resistance, and when he found spies, he instantly killed them all with a thought.

"G-George!"

"Adam!"

"Sara!"

"W-Why would you do that?!"

"My wife!"

"They were spies for the Flaxem army. The ones who ratted you all out in the first place." Kai explained to them.

"H-How do you know that?!"

"I can read minds. And before you ask, yes, I can hear what you’re thinking. You fucked that guy’s mom and knocked her up." Kai smirked. He liked that guy’s style.

"You did what?!"

"Your mom is a fucking hottie, man. I’m sorry."

Jin led all of them, who were only around twenty people, out of the prison and found Sekmala. He told her everything that went on while they were separated, teleported the people to Sunspot city, then teleported himself, Osiren, Sekmala, and her two friends back to the secret room.

"So, what do you want to do next?" He asked her.

"Kai, I’ve learned a horrible truth." Sekmala looked at him with a worried expression.

"What?"

"The demon queen plans on turning this whole continent into a demonic hellscape soon. As for how soon, I don’t know, but we have no longer than a week."

Normally, this would be bad news for people, but for Kai, this was amazing. This little quest he was on would finally be over, and he could go back to having a lot more fun without the need to save people.

"So, I’m guessing you need to go back to Sunspot city so you can get everyone ready for the upcoming destruction we’re all going to face, huh?" He asked

"Yes. Please take me back."

"Alright. Anyone else want to hitch a ride?"

"Hell yeah!" Hathora jumped up and landed in Kai’s lap.

"I’d like to go as well," Basty informed him.

"Cool." He teleported the three of them to Sunspot City. "And you, Osiren?"

"Please take me to the third temple location. I need to gain more strength."
