Chapter 407: The third temple
CHAPTER 407: THE THIRD TEMPLE
"Finally, we found the place!" Amaya grumbled as she looked down to find the top of the third temple. Like the others, this temple was buried in the sand and had to be dug out.
Thanks to the use of magic, or witchcraft, everything was pretty easy.
"Sorry for the confusion. We thought you six were working for Setton. Our intel told us that he betrayed everyone, so we were on high alert." One of the resistance guys apologized to Kai’s girls.
"It’s okay." Gwen smiled. "Everyone makes mistakes. Besides, I don’t blame you for being on edge. I would be too if I were in your position."
"Y-Yeah. Thanks." The guy turned around, blushing like crazy.
"What do you think is the challenge for this temple?" Kyana hoped there would be trees again.
"I hope there aren’t any trees," Gwen smirked at Kyana, knowing that she would want to see some trees again.
"Bitch."
"Ooo, hear me out. What if we get sent to a place where the challenge is to eat a lot of meat?" Amaya asked.
"What kind of meat are we talking about?" Sasha, who loved eating, was absolutely on board with something like that happening.
"Kai’s meat." Nadya chuckled.
"You know, that wouldn’t be so bad. I mean, I wouldn’t eat him, but...you know. I’d be down for riding his meat." Kyana bit her lips.
"What are you talking about?" Kai asked, popping out of nowhere.
"OH JEEZ!"
"What the hell?!"
"Dammit, Kai!"
"My fucking heart!"
"You startled me."
"Let’s mate, husband."
"Sorry, y’all. I didn’t mean to scare you guys like that. Any luck finding the third temple?" He asked, bringing Sasha and Amaya into his arms.
"Yeah, it’s right there." Kyana pointed to the hole in the ground, which showed the whole top of the temple.
"Ahh. How convenient. So, why isn’t it, you know, fully out?"
"Because we just found it like, five minutes before you came."
"Understandable. So, you guys ready to enter it?" He asked them.
"I was born ready!" Osiren cut in.
Everyone went silent and just stared at him until he realized that Kai was not speaking to him.
"S-Sorry."
"Yes, babe, we’re ready to go inside," Gwen answered him.
"Sweet. Hold on to me." Kai dropped all of them through the sand and into the temple, seeing the familiar layout as he had before.
"Haha! We’re inside the third temple! We’re really inside the third temple! This is so exciting!" Osiren was ready to gain his buff and become a force to be reckoned with. He wasn’t going to allow his people to suffer any longer.
Like usual, they passed through multiple traps, a lot of which Kai had to prevent Osiren from running into, and they killed a few minor monsters along the way before making it to the first room where the orb was.
"Okay, everyone, be careful, we don’t know what trial this temple will put us through." Osiren grabbed the orb and waited for the temple to start shifting.
The moment it started to transition into the first trial, Kai slammed his fist against the air, shattering the illusion that made them pass the first trial instantly.
"D-Did you just break the trial?" Osiren asked, slightly confused.
"Hell yeah, I did. You got me fucked up if you think I’m gonna sit through another one of this trial shit. We’re here for the orbs, so let’s get them. Besides, we’re on the clock now. We can’t be wasting our time on seeing who’s worthy and who’s not."
"That was so hot," Sasha whispered in Kai’s ear.
"O-Okay." Osiren held the orb, then continued down the path to the next trial.
Again, they passed through many traps, killed some low-level monsters, then finally made it to the room that had the second orb. Osiren grabbed it, and when the area started to shift, Kai slammed his fist in the air once more, breaking the trial and letting them get the orb without any issues.
"Wow. I get that we’re on a time crunch, but at least let me feel worthy of these, man." These temples were dedicated to the Goddess of their land and were used as a place to make his foundind ancestor stronger, so Osiren wanted to follow in his footsteps.
"Nah. Get the orb and let’s go." Kai urged.
"Ha, no trees for you, bitch." Gwen muttered under her breath, speaking to Kyana.
She was slightly disappointed because she truly wanted to see some trees again. So, Gwen rubbing that in slightly pissed her off. "When you sleep, I’m putting a pillow over your face and holding it down."
For the third trial, it was more of the same as earlier. Osiren couldn’t do anything about it and just had to accept the easy way out.
Still, he was thankful for the temples being there in the first place, and he was thankful that he was getting the power to help his people.
When they left the temple, most of them slightly disappointed, he absorbed the orbs, getting significantly stronger than he was before. Now, he was actually able to pose a threat to someone like Horisia.
If she went all out, he would stand no chance, but he was getting up there.
"Congratulations on achieving this new power, Prince Osiren." His people bowed before him.
"Thank you. I appreciate that. Soon, I will repay your kindness and loyalty with freedom. Please just hold on a bit longer."
"Sweet. Now that the third temple is taken care of, we should head back to Sunspot City." Kai urged.
"Why? Shouldn’t we go for the final temple right now?" Osiren asked. He was right there, so close to achieving the power he needed.
Kai did want to go to the fourth temple, but he would prioritize Sekmala over that because...why not? "While I wouldn’t be against it, Sekmala needs all hands on deck. You heard her earlier, a war is coming, man. You need to be informed about everything that’s happening in your kingdom."
"You’re right. Please take me back." Osiren nodded.
"I’m taking all of you back." Kai waved his hand, and everyone, including the resistance at the temple, was taken to Sunspot City.
