CHAPTER 410: DEMONIC BETRAYAL

Kai taught Apophia how to play tic-tac-toe so it wouldn’t be a complete wash on his end. She agreed to play, sitting on the couch in front of him as they began the game. They did rock, paper, scissors, something Kai taught her as well, to see who would go first. Kai won.

He placed an X in the bottom right corner.

"If you don’t stop what you’re doing, then I’ll just kill you. I don’t really like killing beautiful women, so this would really hurt my feelings. More than when you tried to kill me after luring me to have sex."

Apophia placed an O above Kai’s X

"You do know that this is the way of this world, right? We’ve been doing this for thousands of years before you arrived here. Why do I have to listen to you? Because you’re the son of the Progenitor?"

Kai placed an X in the bottom left corner.

"That’s true. I had a talk with Gracia about that. I told her how stupid it was, and she said it was just the way things are. Now, I don’t really care to change your culture or anything, well, I guess I am, but don’t you think that what you guys are doing is kind of stupid?"

Apophia placed an O between Kai’s X’s

"I can see where you’re coming from, and it is a little...barbaric. But it’s our customs. We are the rulers of this world, and we can do what we want. Look at you. You were doing whatever you wanted when you first came here."

Kai placed an X at the top left corner.

"You’re right, and maybe that is me being hypocritical, but wouldn’t it be better if everyone got along? Like, I want a demon woman as one of my girls, but because of the discord between the races, it’s hard fucking one. Look at you! You tried to kill me!"

Apophia placed an O between Kai’s X’s again.

"Well, I didn’t know who you were at the time, and I would never sleep with a mortal. Tease them? Maybe. But sex? Absolutely not. However, you’re different. I don’t mind being with you."

Kai placed an X in the center, winning the game. Apophia saw him win and cursed under her breath.

"Look, Apophia, I’m being really nice here, because there’s someone who wants you dead, and it’s not me."

"Heh, and who is that person?"

"Me." Morrigan walked inside the room.

"What? Morrigan? What is the meaning of this? You’d dare betray me?!" Apophia got up to subdue her former ally, but her power was negated by Kai. Angered, she sat back down, knowing she couldn’t do anything.

"For thousands of years, I’ve been telling you that we should change, but you never listened to me. I’ve had enough!" The demon of foresight shouted.

"You’re nothing but an insignificant demon lord! How dare you go behind the back of your queen?! This is treason!"

"I’m not a fucking toddler. I know what it means to betray you. After Kai kills you, I will take your place as the Demon Queen and usher in a new age for our people."

Apophia stared into Morrigan’s eyes, her anger rising more and more by the minute. "Do you seriously think that my brothers will allow you to take my position?"

A smirk was erected on Morrigan’s face as she began to speak up. "Tell that to my sister, who is currently ruling as a Demon Queen on the liberated continent."

’Liberated continent?’ Kai wondered to himself.

’There’s a continent where the demon king, or I guess queen, managed to kill the previous demon king, take his power and position, and unite the demon world and continent on the other side of the world. That person is Morrigan’s sister.’ Leo explained to him in his head.

’Ohhh. That’s pretty cool.’

Apophia’s eyes widened as she realized what Morrigan wanted to do. "You! You’re going to have your sisters become the demon queens of the other lands, are you?!"

The demon of foresight didn’t respond and simply smiled. That was indeed her goal. While she told Kai that she had friends in the other lands who would become the new rulers, in truth, they were her sisters.

"So, Apophia, you can either step down as the demon queen or die. The choice is yours."

"Ohh no! You aren’t going to take what’s rightfully mine! I’ll make you pay for this betrayal!" The demon queen lunged at Morrigan, but Kai stopped her. However, he was pushed back, to his shock.

Then he felt it, the progenitor decay running through her veins. "I forgot that you absorbed this power." He grabbed her head and threw her out of the building, breaking parts of the roof in the process.

"Go back to the demon world and prepare for her arrival," Kai demanded.

"I understand. Here, take this. It’s a stone that will allow you to travel to the demon world once you crush it. It’s a one-time use, so don’t accidentally crush it prematurely."

Kai accepted the stone, then placed it in his inventory. "Thanks."

She nodded. "I’ll see you there, husband." She vanished into darkness.

"Oh, I’m so fucking her later."

"KAI LUFORIA!" Filled with rage, Apophia came crashing into the palace, grabbing Kai by the throat and dragging him across the ground.

"Sorry, but I’m not into being choked." He broke free from her clutches, uppercutting her into the air. He teleported behind her, kicking her back down to the ground, then teleported to her side, blasting her with lightning.

"Man, lightning is so cool. I don’t care how many abilities I have. Nothing tops lightning." Kai smiled

"Oh, you wanna taste lightning?!" A chaotic storm of violent demonic energy raged in the sky as Apophia charged up her power.

This demonic power was amplified by Progenitor Decay, so it had the capability to actually injure Kai, but not kill him, though.

Purple lightning crackled in the sky, thunder following closely behind, booming into the ears of everyone.

"Die!" A lightning bolt that lit up the sky rained down onto Kai.

He was actually going to allow it to hit him, but he remembered that he was standing in the castle and the whole place could get obliterated. So he flew toward it instead, getting struck by it in the sky.

"Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" He screamed in pain, getting singed by the powerful lightning, then fell to the ground, nearly defeated.

"Hahahahaha! Idiot! This lightning has an energy that can harm even the likes of you! You’re a fool!" The demon queen flew down to the ground, stomping on Kai’s chest.

"Fuck the progenitor, I’m killing you."

"Just kidding." Kai blasted her head off, killing the demon queen and sending her consciousness back to her real body in the demon world.

"Haha, fucking idiot. Alright. Let’s finish up here, then head to the demon world once I’m done."
