CHAPTER 411: THE DEATH OF SETTON

Sasha, Kyana, Nadya, and Osiren arrived at the last temple location, only to find it surrounded by the soldiers and demons of Flexom and the Demon Queen Apophia.

They had already excavated the ancient site, and by the looks of things, Setton had already claimed the orb that rightfully belonged to Osiren.

"No! No, no, no, no, no! We’re too late! Setton made it here before us!" Osiren slammed his fist onto the moving sand as he dropped to his knees.

Kyana looked around. "It seems like they knew about this place for a while. The temple isn’t overflowing with sand like the previous ones."

"There aren’t any workers here as well. I remember you telling me that slaves were unearthing the second temple you found, right, Kyana?" Nadya asked

"That’s correct. And if we’re to assume Setton was behind that as well, then it’s safe to say that this temple was already in their possession long before the others."

"Fuck! I failed! I had one job and I failed! This was meant to help me obtain the power to aid my people, but now it’s in the hands of a traitor! That fucking bastard!" Osiren was so angry that he was crying.

"Just kill him," Sasha said with a shrug. "He can’t use that power if he’s dead, right?"

Osiren’s tears stopped, and he stood back up. His eyes locked onto Setton’s face, and his anger exploded. "Right. I’ll rip that bastard’s head off!" He powered up and then took off toward the traitor.

Setton was going over everything he needed to do before realizing someone was coming after him. Now that he had the orb, he felt extremely powerful and knew that with this new power, he would usher in a new era of the kingdom with the aid of Flexom and Apophia.

"S-Sir!" A soldier ran toward Setton. "A sand storm is coming our way!"

"Hmm?" Setton looked toward the raging sand that was threatening to bury them. "Heh, that’s not a storm. That’s the last Prince of the Astalith Kingdom."

The desert wind howled as Osiren charged, sand splitting beneath his feet. Rage burned behind his eyes—rage for his fallen kingdom, for the betrayal standing before him. Setton stood waiting, a lazy grin tugging at his mouth, and a blade resting on his shoulder.

Osiren reached him in a blink. Their blades clashed, Khopesh meeting Setton’s curved saber in a burst of red sparks. Osiren pressed forward, each strike heavy with fury. Fire erupted from his swings, lightning cut through the dust, and he increased his strength by creating energy avatar arms around his arm to overpower the traitor.

Setton parried, laughed, and backstepped, deflecting the onslaught, not taking things seriously.

"You’re angry, my prince," Setton taunted, grin widening as another barrage came. "Good. Makes it fun."

Osiren roared and drove his knee into Setton’s gut, sending him flying through a dune. Before Setton landed, Osiren appeared behind him, slamming him into the sand with a crash that split the ground. Energy burned through the air, waves of power flattening the dunes around them.

But Setton was still laughing. He wiped blood from his lip, and his eyes glinted with excitement. "Is that all the royal fury you’ve got? Show me your anger. I was the one who orchestrated the death of your family after all!"

He vanished. A second later, Osiren was hit from behind, ribs cracking from the impact. Setton was on him now; each blow he landed was faster and heavier. His strikes grew monstrous, his aura dark, demonic horns beginning to break through his skin. Osiren tried to counter, but a kick sent him sprawling across the desert.

Setton followed, stomping him into the sand, hand around his throat. "You’re not fit to rule anything. Those blessings were wasted on you."

Osiren’s Khopesh fell from his hand. He could barely breathe. Even with his new strength, it still wasn’t enough to beat Setton.

"Damn. He’s getting fucked." Sasha said as she watched the fight.

"Should we do something?" Nadya asked.

"I have an idea!" Kyana teleported between Osiren and Setton. "Time out!"

Both froze. Osiren was wondering what she was doing while Setton could feel his heart starting to pound with fear.

"Here. Time to drink up, Osiren." She tossed his the chalice.

Osiren caught it, barely. Said a prayer to the goddess, took a sip, and the world erupted. His aura blazed brighter than before, and cracks of power split the ground.

Kyana smirked. "Okay, y’all can get back to fighting now." Then she vanished, the wind swallowing her.

Setton grinned. "That wont be enough to kill me." His body warped, skin darkened, eyes burning crimson, claws tearing through his gauntlets.

Osiren said nothing. He rushed forward, fire spiraling from his Khopesh, lightning surging through his veins. The desert became a storm of sand and energy colliding in violent waves. Setton’s demonic power tore through the chaos, but Osiren matched him, step for step.

They clashed one final time. Setton snarled, "You can’t kill me!"

Osiren grabbed his neck with his right hand. "Watch me."

His arm ignited. Energy screamed outward as his chi was supercharged. An explosion shattered the air, tearing through the desert in a column of light. When the dust settled, Setton’s body lay still, half-consumed by the explosion.

Osiren knelt, his right arm gone, chest heaving. The storm eased. All that remained was the sizling of the sand and the prince, alive, staring into the endless desert he vowed to reclaim.

"I-I did it." He managed to speak before passing out onto the sandy ground.

"Wow! He blew up his arm just to win! That was some epic shit right there!" Sasha felt proud after watching Osiren claim victory.

"Hey, look." Nadya pointed to Setton’s body, which started to float. An orb of energy left his corpse, then floated inside Osiren, giving him immense power.

"I guess the goddess was still looking after him even in this moment." N adya walked over to the prince and healed his body, regrowing his arm.

"Hey, girls...what the hell happened here?" Kai asked, appearing out of nowhere.

Sasha ran over to Kai and dove into his arms. "Osiren won his fight against Setton. It was pretty cool."

"Really? That’s epic."
