CHAPTER 421: UGH, SCHOOL, AGAIN!

Sir Richard held his sword in front of him, assessing Kai as they both walked around each other in a circle. He was scanning Kai to see if he had any openings or to defend if he struck first, but not only did he not find any openings, Kai didn’t attack first.

’He’s not even in a fighting stance, and I can’t see any openings! T-This means that he’s extremely strong. I guess I can’t hold back against him, huh?’ Richard increased his power, shocking everyone around them.

"The captain is giving this his all?"

"Whoa, I’ve never seen the captain this serious unless we’re fighting a real battle."

"D-Does this mean Kai is that strong?" Beryl asked rhetorically.

’I see it, an opening!’ Richard charged in, swinging his sword at Kai’s chest. The slash wouldn’t kill him, of course, but it was an attack that would take him out right away.

Richard smirked. ’I got him now!’

Kai could see everything in slow motion. He wasn’t just a powerful mortal; he was a demigod, so this battle was literally beneath him. Still, he wasn’t going to just obliterate the man, but he wasn’t going to have it be a close fight either.

He grabbed Richard’s sword with his bare hand, shattering the metal into pieces, then he sank his fist into Richard’s gut, punching the guy so hard that he flew into the barracks that the knights used and passed out.

"Hmm. I expected him to be stronger than that. Whatever. Umm, I won, right? Does this mean I have the job now?" Kai asked

"W-What? Oh! Yes. H-Haha! Yes, you’re hired. From now on, you’re Charlotte’s personal knight. Please protect her well." Axel held out his hand to shake.

"Thank you, sir! I will do my best!" Kai shook his hand with a smile on his face.

"No way!"

"He just beat the captain!"

"He’s so young, yet he’s this strong already? What have I been doing with my life?"

The knights couldn’t believe that Kai one-shot their captain, but seeing him do so only made them want to train harder. Seeing Kai so young and powerful made them know that they could be like him as well.

"Kai, a servant will stop by your room with your new uniform. You will be accompanying Charlotte to the Institute of Magic and Martial Arts today." Axel informed him.

"I can start working right away? Awesome! I’ll make sure nothing happens to your daughter!"

’Besides fucking her, of course. Mmm. This family has four women for me to have fun with, plus the maids? Yeah, this was a divine present for me. Thank you, Frostina!’

’I didn’t do shit!’ Frostina shouted in his head.

’Ow! What the fuck? You can hear me?’

’Of course I can! You said my name! I can hear anything if my name is spoken.’

’Oh. Well, you’re sexy as fuck. I would call you hot, but I didn’t know if you were chill with me calling you that.’

’Ugh, cheesy bastard.’ She stopped talking to him.

’Yup, she digs me.’ Kai returned to his room.

In his room, or at least the room he ’woke up’ in, Elseth returned with his new uniform. It was black dress pants, a white button-down dress shirt, black dress shoes, white gloves, and a clip-on badge that he had to wear that said Kai worked for the Nord Family as their Knight.

"There. Now you’re ready." Elseth smiled.

"Thanks!" Kai smiled.

"It’s my duty. The Lord is waiting for you at the entrance." She smiled

Kai nodded, then left his room.

"Oh, Kai, you’re done getting dressed. How do you like the uniform?" Axel asked

"Hmm. It sucks. This isn’t really my style. But if this is what I have to wear to get money, then it’s worth it."

"Hahahahahaha! I like your honesty! Trust me, I understand how you feel."

"Father, I’m ready," Charlotte announced, walking up to Kai and Axel.

"Aw, my sweet baby girl. Be careful on your way to the Institute. Please take care of her, Kai."

"No problem."

"Come on, Kai. I don’t wanna be late!" She grabbed his arm and dragged him outside. A carriage was ready for them, and she stuffed him inside, sitting next to him.

"Ready to go, My Lady?" The coachman asked.

"Yes. You may depart."

"Understood."

"So, Kai, u-um, are you glad to be working for my family?" Charlotte was so nervous that she didn’t even know what to talk about.

"Hmm. No. But it’s not a bad thing. I like new experiences."

"I-I understand." She didn’t know how to feel about his honesty. She liked that he spoke his mind in a respectful way, but as a noble, she knew that this way of speaking wasn’t really looked highly upon, regardless of rank.

"Wait! Karumi! We left her at the mansion!" She remembered placing Karumi on her bed before heading out for school.

"No worries," Kai called her name, then she poofed out of thin air and landed on his lap. "Did you have a nice nap, Karumi?"

"Yeah, it was cool." She responded.

"WHAT THE FUCKKKKKKKKK!" Charlotte understood people talking to their spirit animals, but she never expected one to talk back. She only thought that the fairy-type spirits could communicate verbally.

"What’s up with you?" Karumi asked

"Y-You! You can talk? How? Since when?"

"Since forever." She morphed into her human form. "Mmmnnn~Ahhhh! Feels good to stretch my arms and legs like this. Oops, my tails make the carriage a bit crowded, huh?" She made her tails vanish.

"Y-You can turn into a human?" Charlotte’s mind was exploding.

"Hmm. I wouldn’t call it that, but sure, I can."

"A-Amazing! You’re so beautiful!"

"Fufu, thank you! You should see my mother! She’s way hotter than me." Karumi missed her mom, but not enough to go see her again at the moment.

"Dude, you both look the exact same." Kai pointed out.

"I know."

"What? Ohh! You snake. You’re just trying to hype up your beauty by saying your mother is prettier than you!"

"Hehe, you got me. So, Kai, when are we going to—"

"Not now." Kai already knew she was going to ask to have sex so she could bear his children.

Charlotte didn’t know a spirit and a human could be so close to each other like this. She knew that spirit summoners valued their spirits with their lives and would always take care of them, but to see an interaction like this, as if they were friends, best friends, it was amazing.

"Wow. So cool." She muttered under her breath.
