CHAPTER 36: THE BLOOD WOLF

DAVINA

The moon that had been tucked under the shadowy clouds spilled out, shining brighter. I went after the guards, but I had lost my way. I was like a walking zombie, roaming around with the Moon rays that seemed to surround me.

I tread on the path to the forest, almost losing all senses and ability. But I kept going, with my feet stepping on several twigs and sharp rocks.

I came to a flowing river, with the moon casting its shadow on the waves that raged.

"Davina?" A voice called from behind, and my head snapped in that direction, but there was no one.

It was just a void, with the trees behind me starting to rage with the flow of a heavy wind.

"Are you ready?"

The voice came again, and I snapped my head in another direction. My heart skipped a beat, when I looked into just another void. Even the moon did not cast its rays in that direction.

"Take my hand."

I swallowed, "Who the hell are you?"

"Me?" The voice chuckled, the sound like a happy laughter only a child could have. It was serene and divine.

"I have been waiting for you for too long. Take my hands."

It was like a whisper, and a pull from behind. My body whirled to the side and the next second, I was being suspended in the air, just a few inches above the floor.

"Who the hell are you?"

"Why the hell are you asking?" The voice snapped, as if riled up. "You called me here, didn’t you?"

"No, I didn’t." I shook my head, frantically. "I don’t know who you are."

"You will find out soon, since I am here already. Don’t worry, you will love me."

In the blink of an eye, the voice was gone and the forest came to stand standstill. The void was gone too, with the moon rays surrounding me again.

I was back on the floor, and immediately I thrashed, shooting up to my feet with my head darting around.

"What was that?" I gasped, holding onto my chest. My senses were back, and the memories that flashed in my mind almost made me scream out loud.

I held my head, hoping and praying I wasn’t going crazy. The way I scared off the guards, and even followed after them like I was a rogue with no sense was all baffling to me.

"How dare you!"

The same voice, the same fear and crippling voice resounded, and I felt my body quiver down to my bones.

The voice didn’t come behind or beside me, it came from right inside me. Right inside my soul and my mind.

"How dare you call yourself a rogue?!"

"What... what are you saying?" I felt like my brain was about to go bust. The pressure was immense.

"I found you worthy of my entity, and here you call yourself a rogue?"

"Entity? Who the hell are you and why are you inside me?"

As soon as my words dropped, my body whirled toward the flowing river like I was being controlled. The same voice kept ringing in my head, pushing me straight to the center of the river.

Even with the waves, I wasn’t washed away. The moon cast its rays on me, like I was being kissed by the Moon Goddess.

However, the next second, my eyes looked straight into the river. My reflection was clear as day, but the person looking back at me wasn’t the Davina I knew.

It was different, feral with blood red eyes that shone bright.

"You have a blood wolf. I am your blood wolf, and don’t you dare call yourself a rogue!"

As if on command, my hands raised slightly as the voice continued.

"Do you know what those hands can do? You can make people tremble at your feet!"

"Your claws can kill in the blink of an eye."

"Your eyes can compel whoever you want. And you fucking call yourself a rogue?"

"You are an Alpha! The only one who can bring peace and chaos to—"

"Davina!"

My head snapped to the side, as I saw three boys rushing toward me. My eyes were blurry, my senses dulled but I could feel them. Feel the pull toward the three men who stood at the bank of the river.

"Davina, what the hell are you doing?" They cried.

"Ugghh..." The voice in my head let out, as if disgusted by their presence.

"Why the hell are they here at this time? They should give us a few minutes."

"Do you know them?" I asked, probing to know if my senses were still intact.

"Of course..." The voice chuckled, the child-like happiness was back with a softness hidden within. "They are our mates..."

My head snapped toward the riverbank again, and I moved toward the pull I was getting. I was slowly getting back my reins, while I pushed this voice away from me.

However, the blood wolf pulled me back, "No way you are going to them! This is our moment! We need to get to know each other."

I stopped again, "What’s your name?"

I fought for my consciousness. Half with the blood wolf, and half with me.

"Why have you appeared at this time?"

"I am Seraphine. The blood wolf." Her voice was filled with pride, which spilled into my mind.

"Have you heard that name anywhere?"

"Yes...it’s familiar." I nodded. "But I cannot recall."

"Well, no worries. Our destinies have been sealed, right from the moment you were born. We will lead—"

"So, why are you here? I am not 20 yet."

Suddenly, she went silent as if burned by my words and I felt her release my consciousness. I was back to myself, in control with my eyes clearing up.

At this moment, I could see my mates clearly and they were already in the river, swimming toward me.

The minute I realized I was standing within the waves, I slipped, falling straight into the churning river.

"Davina!"

They yelled, rushing toward me. But I was being taken far away from them, like invisible hands were dragging me deeper into the water.

I wasn’t a good swimmer. Hell, I couldn’t even swim!

That blood wolf must have a lot of power to keep me standing in there for so long.

My head got submerged in the water, water filling up in my throat and ears.

"Seraphine!" I screamed in my mind. "You brought me here into this river. How dare you leave me all alone?"

She chuckled, and the sound was like vines slithering into my heart wickedly.

"Save yourself." She sneered. "You pushed me away for your mates."

"No! You left when I asked a question!"

"Ohh..." She said nervously. "That’s right, you are not at fault."

"Then save me!" I snapped.

My mind was frantic, but my body was going immobile as I sank deeper into the water.

As we got lower, it got darker, and even an Alpha wolf wouldn’t be able to see through this void darkness.

"No." She refused. "Let’s see if our mates would be able to."

"If they can’t, they are not worthy of having us."

The next second, I felt her pull on my body and she dragged me deeper into the water.
