CHAPTER 202: A FIERCE BATTLE (2)
Boom!
Boom!
Explosions rang out as the dog monster swung its claws at Nolan.
Luckily, Nolan moved fast enough that none of the strikes landed. Still, the ground where he had been standing moments before was riddled with holes from the monster’s blows.
Roar!
Both dog heads let out a deafening roar, their fury no longer contained.
Their eyes bulged, and suddenly, crimson rays shot out from them.
The four rays lunged at Nolan with incredible speed. If it had been anyone else, they wouldn’t have had time to react.
But Nolan was different. To him, the rays crawled along, painfully slow.
Shifting his body to the right, he dodged with ease.
Blaaam!
More rays erupted from the monster’s eyes, but Nolan slipped past every single one.
Boom!
The opposite side of the colosseum shattered under the impact. A moment later, however, it returned to normal, as though some unseen force had repaired it.
"So boring," Nolan muttered with a lazy yawn.
Whoosh!
His figure vanished, reappearing beneath the monster. With both fists clenched, he drove them hard into its stomach.
Scrk!
The beast’s body burst apart, reduced to chunks of mangled flesh that scattered in every direction. The sight left Mathias stunned.
Incredible strength, he breathed, shaken. His once-dismissive look vanished, replaced by alarm. I really underestimated him...
At first, he had assumed Nolan would die at the hands of the dog monster. After all, that beast was one of the strongest in his collection.
But he was wrong—Nolan had crushed it with ease.
His shock slowly faded as he reminded himself of the vastness of his collection.
Leaning back casually, his smile returned. He raised his voice, "You exceeded my expectations, Your Highness. Impressive! But don’t get too comfortable—I still have plenty more monsters for you to face."
Clap!
He clapped his hands. From the iron gate on the left, a monster strode out with heavy, thunderous steps.
It looked like a bull, but far larger—fifteen meters tall.
Two enormous horns jutted forward, sharp enough to tear anything apart in an instant.
Its face was terrifying, with bulging eyes and hot breath snorting roughly from its nostrils.
The moment its gaze locked onto Nolan, the bull bent its right leg, then charged.
Each step shook the ground violently, its horns cutting the air with frightening speed.
Yet Nolan showed no fear. His expression stayed cold as he shifted to the side, clenched his right fist, and slammed it into the bull’s stomach.
Bang!
The giant bull was lifted off its feet, soaring through the air before crashing down with a thunderous boom.
"This..." Mathias froze, unable to believe his eyes.
The bull was much larger than Nolan, yet the young man had slammed into it and knocked it down with ease, as if it were nothing.
Who is he really? How could he hide all this from the Imperial Palace? Mathias thought, suspicion flickering in his eyes.
Nolan’s power was already far beyond the limits of ordinary humans. With strength like this, the emperor or the imperial family should have noticed long ago.
But judging from the news and rumors, they seemed completely unaware.
Clearly, Nolan had hidden himself well. That realization made Mathias wary—and uneasy.
Still, he kept reminding himself that Nolan was weaker than him. Slowly, his composure returned.
Meanwhile, Nolan kept fighting the bull monster. He wasn’t using his true strength—only his raw physical power.
Even then, he deliberately held back from killing it right away. Otherwise, the fight would be too boring.
MRR!
A deep growl rumbled from the bull’s throat as its crimson eyes locked onto Nolan with fury.
With a feral expression, it charged at him. But this time, Nolan didn’t bother dragging things out. He was already tired of the beast.
Pulling his right arm back, he clenched his fist and drove it straight into the bull’s lower jaw.
Bang!
The monster didn’t go flying. Instead, its body stiffened before collapsing heavily to the side, unconscious.
Its breathing faltered, then stopped completely. Nolan shook his right fist and smirked.
"Is that the best you can do?" he mocked.
Mathias seethed at the mockery. His hands tightened on the throne’s armrests, his breath growing heavy.
"Don’t be arrogant, Nolan Lorian!" he hissed coldly. "Those monsters were just the beginning. Now, I’ll show you my true collection!"
With a snap of his fingers, the iron gates on both sides burst open. In the blink of an eye, two monsters stepped out.
On the right was a tiger-shaped beast. Standing eight meters tall, it radiated a far more terrifying aura than the two before it.
Its body was packed with muscle, raw power surging through every movement. Its razor-sharp fangs glistened in the light, and its black eyes stayed fixed on Nolan.
On the left came an eagle-like monster, six meters tall. Its talons were sharp and menacing, while its hooked beak curved downward like a blade.
Their appearance thickened the air with killing intent, turning the atmosphere suffocatingly tense.
Yet even as the two monsters closed in, Nolan remained calm. He glanced up at Mathias with a relaxed expression and asked, "Is that all you’ve got?"
Mathias’ fury flared again. He roared, "Enough talk! Worry about surviving these two!"
Nolan chuckled at Mathias’ reaction. Glancing at the two monsters flanking him, he taunted, "Come at me, you stupid beasts!"
Provoked, both monsters lunged fearlessly at him. The tiger was closest and reached him first.
It leapt high, swinging its razor-sharp claws straight at him.
This time, Nolan didn’t dodge. Instead, he clenched his left fist and slammed it against the tiger’s left claw.
Bang!
The impact shattered its arm, drawing a roar of agony.
Seizing the opening, Nolan drove his right fist into its head.
Scrk!
The tiger’s skull burst apart, spraying red-black blood in every direction.
Kraaaah!
A piercing screech echoed from behind. Nolan snapped his gaze toward the eagle monster, then launched himself into the air, landing squarely on its head.
The creature thrashed wildly, spinning in midair to shake him off. But Nolan didn’t budge.
Grabbing both wingtips, he yanked hard.
Scrk!
The wings tore apart like paper, and the eagle plummeted, crashing to the ground.
Before it could even cry out in pain, Nolan clenched his fist and smashed its head with brutal force.
In an instant, the monster went limp. Nolan shook the blood from his hand and gave Mathias a cold grin.
"Got any more?"
