CHAPTER 512: "I’M DOING IT!"

"Ambrose?" I said as I looked up at the man before getting to my feet. The man was holding onto a walker frame, but compared to yesterday when he could barely stand up, it was clearly quite the improvement.

I smiled at the kind gentleman and said. "Well, look at you, up and about. Glad to see you on your feet. You have adapted quite well." I still remembered how it felt when I felt the gravity of home world for the first time. That shit hurt. So for him to have adapted without developing an overpowered ability such as my Gyrokinesis, I was impressed.

"I can barely believe it myself, young Apollo, It’s like just being here is filling me with energy." Suddenly recalling Ambrose’s power, I nodded my head reflectively. "Well, considering you absorb radiation, Psionic power has its own radiation. And with us all together, each acting like a small battery, you are probably feeding off everyone without realising it."

Ambrose blinked visibly in surprise at this news, his power was still new to him and he didn’t even begin to think that was an option, his train of thought was interrupted though as I asked.

"So, what brings you over to this side? I thought you were on a learning scholarship?" Ambrose wiped under his nose and sniffed a moment before nodding his head. "Yes, I thought so too, but the company who is sponsoring me apparently has given me permission to learn to defend myself. As I am going to be a hot commodity. I don’t think I am going to do any fighting stuff, but since I have Psionic energy, I might be able to learn how to manipulate it into a weapon. I’m not very courageous after all, fighting is scary."

I chuckled at the man and nodded my head. "Well why have courage when you can have a gun right? Or any other weapon." I joked, causing the man to chuckle. "Haha. Well said son. Welp, I am going to go look around and leave you with your lovelies. Hope I see you again." The man said before shambling away.

"Take care Ambrose!" I waved before looking at the man’s posture. ’Good bone strength for someone his age and his posture seems much better than yesterday... Psionics, fuck I love em.’

The entire day was spent in leisure waiting and we weren’t the only ones, everyone was sat down, some on their own, some in groups like ours. We became sort of a pinpoint destination in most peoples maps, thanks to Nerissa, mostly...

’Why are they still staring at me?’ I thought as a group of six Sepiidans were all standing next to one another roughly twelve meters away with their partners nearby. I mean I knew the reason why, Talia had explained in great detail, but I was actually a little scared as I felt like I was being hunted.

The deterrent of the rest of my group, alongside Janine doing her job wonderfully as she slapped a Sepiida that got too close earlier. She even went as far as saying I was her mate and the flies needed to buzz off.

It was brilliant acting on her part, as the raw emotion in her tone almost made me believe she actually thought that for a moment. ’Heh, I’d be so lucky.’ I chuckled to myself. It really was a shame Janine enjoyed carpet. ’We would be such a good couple considering how close we already are.’

I subconsciously began to stroke Janine’s leg as I thought this as she was sitting right next to me. I only realised I was doing it when she placed her hand atop mine and smiled up at me with a caring smile. A smile that made my heart flutter.

"Attention all Psionic wielders. Please make your way towards the transports. We have finished enrollment and are shipping you up to the moon now. Those that failed enrollment, please return to your vehicles and leave the planet, we are sorry for your time wasted."

"Finally!" I exclaimed with delight. And I was not the only one. The giant lot we were all standing in roared to life with the excitement of everyone. How could they not be? For many, their dreams were finally about to come true, a life beyond the mundane was about to start. Wealth at the tips of their fingertips a chance to be a somebody.

To others. ’Man I cannot wait to start reading all that juicy Psionic lore.’ I thought as I rubbed my hands together and licked the corner of my lips. I was brought out of my thoughts abruptly by Nerissa.

"Apollo, follow me, we are not using the public transport. We will use my private shuttle to go to the ceremony. It’s a four hour long trip in those shuttles and I doubt you all want to be squashed in the sardine tins with all those people Especially those voracious Sepiida. In my shuttle it will be thirty minutes." She said and began walking the opposite direction from everyone else.

I wouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth and began following Nerissa. ’Four hours? With all those people so close to her? Goodness, Nerissa has just saved a lot of lives from Orchids ire.’

As we walked towards the restricted section two Phalanx guards looked between one another, seemingly conflicted. Fortunately they had all liability removed from them with the simple phrase from the Praetorian as she passed. "They are with me."

That was all they needed. Praetorians outranked their boss’ boss’ boss by ’n’th amount of times and they simply returned to guard.

After arriving at the ship, the shuttle ride to the planets moon wasn’t anything to talk about and in forty minutes we were there. The moon was green and verdant and had an exotic jungle vibe.

I thought I had my fill of jungles with all the Ker’min stuff I watched as a kid and having to kill Chonk’s predecessor, but this felt different. Calmer. It had a serenity to it as I listened to the insects chirp and bleep. I heard birds overhead and their calls to one another.

There was a peaceful balance to the place that lulled me greatly. "This is going to be a nice place to study." I thought to myself. "Aaaahh!" I suddenly heard as Janine flew past my vision.

"Janine are y-" I began before she screamed. "Apollo! Give me gravity! She said on the floor, not risking movement. I did as she asked, walked over to her and placed my hand on her shoulder.

She immediately felt the effect and stood up, dusting herself off. "Ah, I should have mentioned. The gravity outside of the facilities is very reduced compared to most habitable planets in Spartari. There should be some gravity gear within the ship, go and put it on." Nerissa said, forgetting that not everyone wore heavy armour like hers.

Janine then walked back into the ship, just making it in time as my Gyrokinesis wore off. Orchid then walked towards me and rested her head on my shoulder. "I like this place, it reminds me of our spot. Only the colours are darker and less vibrant."

I smiled when my love bug said that and I was obliged to wrap my arm around her and look out at our surroundings. "Orchid, are you not in need of gravity gear?" Nerissa suddenly butted in as a third wheel, prompting the creature, commonly known as Orchid, to simply ignore her.

Replying in her stead, I stated. "Orchid has low gravity training. She will be fine here and with our gene enhancements, we are both heavier than we look anyway." I said, causing Nerissa to simply nod her head in understanding.

As I was waiting for Janine to put on her equipment, a thought suddenly occurred to me with all this talk of gravity. Deactivating my Gyrokinesis, I felt it immediately and my whole body tensed, alerting Orchid to my surprise.

"By Jewels tits..." I whispered in shock to my divine entity and raised up on my tip toes, putting the slightest amount of force downwards and I did it... I missed a breath in my shock as I slowly continued to float upwards.

"Hah! I’m doing it! Ahhahahaha! I’m fucking flying!" For months I have felt on the precipice of this bottle neck and all I needed was a low gravity environment? ’Oh, I don’t give two shits if I can’t replicate this on a denser planet. I am flying haha!’

Well. Floating was more appropriate, I wasn’t really doing anything except concentrating on lifting my body upwards as I slowly ascended. I had managed to get up to the top of Orchids head, around seven feet before I felt the strain start to hit me hard.

Even in the lighter gravity, it was still incredibly difficult to actually keep my heavy ass up. I could feel the strain on my Mindspace and wanted to focus on letting myself down gently now. Something I had never trained before as all my falling has always been freefall, making this require a lot of attention and.

"*GASP* Apollo you are flying!" Janine exclaimed, startling me, and before I knew it, my face was making out with the dirt below.
