CHAPTER 46: CHAPTER 43: OUTRAGE!

When Qiao Yuxian returned to Fenglin Villa, Gu Yanjing was sitting in the living room.

She entered the living room and saw him, a smile appeared on her face, and she quickly walked a few steps and said, "Have you had dinner?"

Gu Yanjing heard her voice, turned his head to look over, first noticed the smile on her face, then glanced at her left foot.

Qiao Yuxian noticed his gaze, raised her eyebrows slightly, walked over to sit beside him, and said, "It’s fine now, it’s been healed a long time ago."

The two sat on that long sofa with space between them enough for almost three people.

Gu Yanjing looked at her.

Qiao Yuxian took off her slippers, placed her left foot on her right knee, and showed it to Gu Yanjing with her legs crossed: "Look, it’s fine. I heal quickly, and my left leg hasn’t used much strength."

Gu Yanjing looked at the dried bloodstains on her sock, and his expression cooled.

Seeing his odd expression, Qiao Yuxian glanced down. When she saw the bloodstain on her sock, she blinked, lowered her leg, and shuffled to the end of the sofa, moving away from the person exuding coldness.

Gu Yanjing observed her actions without speaking, directly took out the medical kit from under the coffee table.

Hearing the noise, Qiao Yuxian secretly glanced at him, seeing him take out the medical kit, the stinging pain of alcohol touching her wound from last night instantly flooded her mind.

She instinctively stood up and ran.

"Stop there," Gu Yanjing said sharply.

Qiao Yuxian pretended not to hear, quickening her steps towards the staircase.

Gu Yanjing saw her figure, his eyes seemed to have a storm passing through. With the medical kit in hand, he stood up, took long strides, and within a few steps caught up with Qiao Yuxian, blocking her path.

Suddenly, Qiao Yuxian almost bumped into him but managed to stop just in time, then suddenly squeezed out a smile and said, "Mr. Gu, what a coincidence, you’re here too. Ah—"

Without a word, Gu Yanjing bent down, hoisted her onto his shoulder, and headed upstairs.

Qiao Yuxian’s stomach pressed against his shoulder, her head down, and her little bun on her head quivered. She felt the blood rush to her head and almost vomited up her dinner.

"Gu Yanjing." Qiao Yuxian patted his back, "I can’t, I’m dizzy."

Gu Yanjing said nothing, holding her knee pit, he continued up the stairs.

"Gu Yanjing, I won’t run, I won’t run." Qiao Yuxian grabbed the shirt on his back, "I’ll put on the medicine, put me down."

Gu Yanjing, like a cold-blooded creature, ignored everything she said.

Upon reaching her bedroom door, which was ajar, he simply kicked it open and walked in.

Inside the dark room, Qiao Yuxian felt as though she was about to fall into some dark fairy hole. When Gu Yanjing turned on the light and walked inside, she clung to the door frame,

His footsteps paused.

Qiao Yuxian clutched the door frame with force and yelled softly, "Help! Someone is molesting me!"

Gu Yanjing: "......"

Shang Chen had just come in from outside and upon looking up, noticed the scene upstairs. He stood there not knowing whether to come in or go out, his face showing confusion.

"Help! Molestation," Qiao Yuxian held the door frame without letting go.

Aunt Mei heard the noise, came out of the kitchen for a look, and then laughed with deep meaning, returning to the kitchen while saying, "Young people sure know how to play."

Hearing this, Shang Chen’s mouth twitched, remaining disorganized in the living room.

Upstairs, Gu Yanjing listened to her shouting for a while, then coldly said, "Let go."

As if hit by cold frost, Qiao Yuxian resignedly let go and allowed him to carry her into the room, placing her on the bed.

Gu Yanjing released her, kneeling on one knee on the floor.

Qiao Yuxian’s first reaction was still to run, but he caught her ankle, and Gu Yanjing looked up at her.

As their eyes met, the extremely beautiful phoenix eyes of Gu Yanjing were filled with cold severity, and she immediately behaved, pursing her lips, and softly said, "I can apply the medicine myself."

Gu Yanjing ignored her, lowered his gaze, removed her sock, and placed her foot on his leg to unwrap the bandage.

"Gu Yanjing..." Qiao Yuxian tried to move her foot away.

"Don’t move," Gu Yanjing said softly.

She stopped moving, lowering her gaze to look into Gu Yanjing’s eyes.

His eye shape was beautiful, his eyelashes long but not curled, giving a sense of indifference.

Qiao Yuxian was absorbed in the sight when the pain in her foot shot straight to her brain: "Ah!"

She swayed backward, then bounced back, her head resting on Gu Yanjing’s shoulder.

Gu Yanjing glanced at her, seeing her lips tightly pressed together, her eyelashes trembled, and he lightened his touch.

But it didn’t matter whether he lightened his touch or not, the pain made Qiao Yuxian clench her fists and pound on Gu Yanjing’s back.

Not until Gu Yanjing re-bandaged her, the pain subsided, Qiao Yuxian uttered, "Why does it still hurt so much after a whole day and night?"

"Just the lesson you needed," Gu Yanjing said coldly.

Listening to his cold voice, Qiao Yuxian was impulsive and bit his shoulder.

Gu Yanjing was about to set her foot down when he felt a sting on his shoulder, and he turned to look at her fierce expression.

Like a well-behaved little fox who suddenly showed sharp teeth.

Gu Yanjing stared at her for two seconds, then placed her foot into her slipper, raised his hand, and patted the back of her head.

This touch seemed to bring Qiao Yuxian back to her senses, and she released her bite, looking at Gu Yanjing.

She pursed her lips, eyes wide open in shock, embarrassment, helplessness, and a hint of appeasement.

But due to their proximity, all these emotions turned into a daze, and she instantly held her breath.

Gu Yanjing’s hand still cupped her head, his expression indifferent, but his gaze traced over her brows and eyes, finally settling on her pursed lips.

Her crimson lips, due to the pressure, had edges that appeared pale.

The position was somewhat ambiguous, and if Gu Yanjing exerted a little force, they could touch each other.

All around was silent, without a sound, and the two seemed motionless, watching each other.

After quite a while, Gu Yanjing’s hand rubbed the back of her head again, saying softly, "Breathe."

Qiao Yuxian blinked, as if reborn, suddenly leaning back, simultaneously taking a deep breath.

Gu Yanjing released her accordingly, lowering his gaze to organize the medical kit, his expression veiled by his eyelashes exuded an indescribable intensity and desire.

Qiao Yuxian shrank back a bit, sitting on the bed hugging her knees, her ears red as if they could drip blood, with a somewhat evasive look, "Thank you. I’ll be careful tomorrow."

Gu Yanjing, still kneeling on the ground, didn’t move, observing her demeanor, paused, then found a topic, "Where did you go this afternoon?"

"Hmm?" Qiao Yuxian didn’t quite react initially and after thinking responded, "Didn’t Shang Chen tell you?"

Gu Yanjing gently knit his brow, stood up and said, "His job is to protect you, not to monitor you."

Qiao Yuxian looked up at him, then smiled after a moment, "Then I won’t tell you. You can ask Shang Chen."

Gu Yanjing: "......"

Seeing his expression, Qiao Yuxian smiled again, eyes brimming with charm, teasing his heart: "I went to see my dad. He apologized to me."

Gu Yanjing observed her expression but didn’t ask more.

Qiao Yuxian stayed silent for a while, then grasped one of his fingers, looked up and said, "Gu Yanjing, thank you."

Thank you for going to my family, seeking justice, and clearing things up.

Gu Yanjing still said nothing, instead curling his fingers, holding her small hand firmly.
