Chapter 114: Troublemaker
CHAPTER 114: CHAPTER 114: TROUBLEMAKER
That night, Lin Xiaoyan heard her mother say that her brother’s debts were all paid off, and her sister-in-law had returned.
Lin Xiaoyan breathed a sigh of relief.
Afterwards, Lin Xiaoyan saw the IOU written by her brother, and her father said he would hold onto it for her until she returned.
The shop was bustling with many people buying milk tea.
Lin Xiaoyan quickly processed orders and served customers, while four employees in the back were swiftly making milk tea.
"Dingdong~ Welcome~"
"Darling, this is my family’s shop, what do you think?"
"The milk tea shop’s business is pretty good. How about we open one too?"
"Sure, tonight I’ll have my dad terminate the lease on this shop so we can start our milk tea business..."
"Alright, thank you, hubby~"
The milk tea shop was silent. These two people had been inspecting the shop since they entered, speaking audibly without any regard for others.
Lin Xiaoyan listened to the whole conversation and glanced at the two.
A man and a woman, the man was so fat his eyes were barely visible, while the woman wore a super short skirt with delicate makeup and was quite pretty.
Their air of "this is our shop" made them somewhat annoying to look at.
Lin Xiaoyan ignored them; after all, the shop was hers now, and there was no dispute.
Besides, the police station is right across the street!
"Hello, may I ask what you’d like to drink?" Lin Xiaoyan smiled at the next customer.
"Three lemon waters, one with ice, the other two at room temperature."
"Alright, please hold on..."
Lin Xiaoyan quickly processed the order.
At this moment, the fat man approached, planted his arm on the counter, looked at Lin Xiaoyan, then glanced at the staff inside.
"Wow, you’ve got quite a few employees here; seems like business is really good!"
Lin Xiaoyan looked up at the recent customer, "Hello, that’ll be twelve yuan."
"Okay."
The fat man looked at Lin Xiaoyan and asked arrogantly, "Where’s your boss?"
Lin Xiaoyan furrowed her brow slightly, looking at the man, and smiling, "That’s me. Do you need anything?"
The man was surprised, looking Lin Xiaoyan over, "You? So young?"
The staff handed over the prepared lemon water.
"Hello, your lemon water is ready."
The man continued to ask, "How much does this shop earn per month? You’ve hired so many employees, how much do you pay them? Your electricity bill..."
Lin Xiaoyan coldly looked at the man, "Sir, if you’re interested in opening a franchise, we can talk privately when there are no customers. For now, I have guests, so could you please make way?"
The man didn’t expect she hadn’t heard them say that the shop was theirs upon entering.
The man immediately felt humiliated and said coldly.
"This shop is my family’s, you’ll pack up and leave tomorrow, we won’t rent it out anymore!"
Lin Xiaoyan’s expression darkened, "Sir, are you the previous landlord?"
"No, my dad is, but if I tell my dad, he’ll agree!" the man said confidently.
The customers in the shop stopped playing on their phones and chatting, all looking over, ears perked up, watching the commotion.
"Honey, the shop decor isn’t very nice. Should we hire a new designer to redo it?"
The woman the man brought along approached coquettishly, her lips pouting, speaking in a sweet tone.
The man held the woman, agreeing generously.
The man continued to glare at Lin Xiaoyan, "Anyway, I’ve made myself clear. You’ll move out tomorrow!
I’ll reluctantly accept the items in your shop to offset the damage you caused to my family’s property during the initial renovation."
It was Lin Xiaoyan’s first time encountering such unreasonable people in real life.
"Boss, don’t worry; you definitely have a contract. As long as there’s a contract, there’s no need to fear. If the lease isn’t up, they have no reason to kick you out."
"Yeah, boss, don’t be afraid."
"With the contract in place, if you leave, it’s them who’ll have to compensate you for the losses!"
"That’s right!"
...
The shop’s customers, witnessing the man’s unreasonable behavior, collectively reassured Lin Xiaoyan.
Listening to everyone, Lin Xiaoyan felt greatly comforted.
"Thank you all."
"Honey~" Seeing everyone speaking like that, the woman was visibly displeased.
The man blackened his face, arrogantly looking at everyone, "Want compensation? Ha, dream on!
This is my family’s shop; we’ll handle it as we please, sue us if you dare, I’m not afraid!"
Lin Xiaoyan coldly looked at the man, "I suggest you first go home and ask your father if the shop still belongs to your family."
The man’s face fell, glaring at Lin Xiaoyan, "What do you mean?"
Lin Xiaoyan smirked slightly, "It’s nothing, but I regret to inform you that your father may have sold this shop."
Refusing to believe Lin Xiaoyan, the man quickly pulled out his phone to call his dad.
Lin Xiaoyan forced herself to suppress the panic, her hand trembling slightly as she maintained a stiff smile and continued to ask the customer what they’d like to drink.
Now the shop’s customers realized the man probably didn’t know the shop no longer belonged to his family.
Hahaha, nobody expected to see such a spectacle, it’s really gratifying!
The customers weren’t in a hurry to leave, some sitting with their milk tea on the nearby chairs, others standing by.
"Boss..." The employees noticed the man’s odd expression and approached to ask Lin Xiaoyan with concern.
Lin Xiaoyan glanced at the man, noting he couldn’t get through on the phone, and his expression seemed off.
"If anything happens, call the police." Lin Xiaoyan instructed.
"Alright."
The man was seething with rage, unable to connect the call, surrounded by gawkers, feeling utterly humiliated!
His anger was uncontrollable, his eyes reddened as he looked at Lin Xiaoyan.
Lin Xiaoyan’s heart skipped a beat, her hand immediately reaching for the phone under the counter, dialing the police with practiced speed.
"Sir, you can go home and ask your father for specific details. The shop was transferred about a month ago, to my knowledge." Lin Xiaoyan spoke warmly, trying not to provoke the man.
"A month ago? Why wasn’t I informed?" The man was furious learning the shop was sold a month ago!
"Honey, did your dad really sell this shop? I wanted to open a milk tea shop~" The woman gazed at him, evidently disappointed.
The man took a deep breath, his eyes locked on Lin Xiaoyan, "Who was it sold to? You?"
"There’s no need for me to tell you."
"Bang!" The man slammed his fist against the counter.
Witnessing the man’s tantrum, his massive frame intimidating, the spectators quickly moved aside.
The four staff members immediately surrounded Lin Xiaoyan, shielding her.
Lin Xiaoyan quickly described the situation to the police.
