CHAPTER 192: CHAPTER 192: FIXING UP THE NEW HOUSE

Lin Xiaoyan patted his shoulder, letting him continue working.

After chatting a bit with her brother, Lin Xiaoyan went to the hospital.

On the way, Lin Xiaoyan sent a message to Jiang Rong, asking if there was any update regarding the life swap situation of Li Wen’s family.

All the way to the hospital, she did not receive a response from Jiang Rong.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Lin Xiaoyan saw her mother receiving an IV drip, but her father was not in the room.

"Mom."

When Lin Mu saw her daughter arriving, a smile instantly appeared on her face, but she said, "If you’re busy, don’t come. Your dad is here with me, and my eyes have recovered. I can move now; you don’t need to bother coming."

Lin Xiaoyan put the groceries she had just bought in the kitchen.

"I’m done with work and don’t have anything to do at home."

Seeing the groceries her daughter bought, Lin Mu quickly said, "Your dad went downstairs to buy some groceries. I better tell him you’ve already bought some. Otherwise, it’ll be too much and will go to waste."

"Don’t move, I’ll tell him myself. Be careful with the needle in your hand, don’t move." Lin Xiaoyan hastily held her mom down to prevent her from moving.

Just as Lin Xiaoyan was about to call her dad, the door to the room opened from the outside.

"Sister-in-law?" Lin Xiaoyan, surprised, looked at her sister-in-law coming in and quickly got up to take the fruit from her sister-in-law’s hands.

Seeing the fruit her daughter-in-law brought, Lin Mu said, "Why did you buy such heavy fruit? Carrying it over is such a burden. Come, sit and rest for a bit."

Fan Lalan, indeed a bit out of breath, sat by her mother-in-law’s bedside, "I thought it would be good for you to eat more fruit in the hospital."

While Lin Mu chatted with her daughter-in-law, Lin Xiaoyan called her dad.

She asked her dad what he had bought and told him about the groceries she got, mentioning that Sister-in-law was here too, advising him to be mindful with grocery shopping.

Lin Fu agreed immediately and hung up the call.

Lin Xiaoyan washed the fruit and put it on the table.

"Mom, Sister-in-law, have some fruit."

"Alright."

Fan Lalan picked up a banana, peeled it, and handed it to her mother-in-law.

Lin Mu smiled as she took it, "You should eat some too."

"Okay."

"Yanyan, you sit down and take a break too." Lin Mu looked at her daughter, "Did you talk to your dad?"

Lin Xiaoyan took a bite of an apple, "I did, I’ve told Dad."

"Alright." Hearing her daughter had told her husband, Lin Mu was relieved.

Everything in Sea City is so expensive, whether it’s food or goods, even more than medical expenses.

After finishing the apple, Lin Xiaoyan went to the doctor’s office, finding Doctor Chen just there. She went in to inquire about her mother’s condition.

Upon learning that her mother’s eyes had basically recovered, Lin Xiaoyan thanked him repeatedly.

Finally, Doctor Chen said that her mother could be discharged in two more days.

Knowing this, Lin Xiaoyan, Lin Fu, and Lin Mu were extremely happy.

During lunch, Lin Xiaoyan asked her parents if they wanted to stay at that house after discharge.

"What house?"

Fan Lalan asked while eating.

Immediately, Lin Fu said, "Yanyan’s friend knows we’ve come and said we can stay in their empty house."

As she was picking up vegetables, Lin Xiaoyan paused and looked at Lin Fu, nodding, "Yes, he has plenty of properties!

This one is vacant, and he let me take you there to stay. It’s quite big; it has furniture and everything, just no home supplies."

This wasn’t a lie; Xuan Shiyi indeed has many houses.

Upon hearing this, Fan Lalan sighed, "So rich."

After coming to Sea City, Lin Hao had talked to Fan Lalan about his sister, but mostly about not inquiring into her matters.

So Fan Lalan didn’t ask when her sister-in-law met such a wealthy friend or why the friend was so generous in letting them stay...

Seeing her in-laws knew about it, she felt no need to ask or comment further.

Lin Xiaoyan glanced at her father, only to see him slightly shaking his head.

She looked down and continued eating. She doesn’t like lying. Lying means one lie must be followed by countless others to cover it up.

But she couldn’t reveal her work, and it was really bothersome.

After eating, Lin Xiaoyan looked at her sister-in-law, "Sister-in-law, I’m going to buy some home supplies, beddings. Are you coming?"

Fan Lalan hesitated a bit. She wanted to see, but being pregnant, she worried she might inconvenience her sister-in-law, so she finally shook her head, "No, I’ll stay a while and then go back to sleep."

Lin Xiaoyan: "Alright then."

In the afternoon, Lin Xiaoyan went to the mall and bought many things.

She bought six sets of beddings directly and then some essential small items for home, spending a few thousand yuan altogether.

However, when she took the items to the new house and started arranging it bit by bit, a sense of fulfillment filled her heart.

Setting up your own home, no matter how tiring, is joyous.

Lin Xiaoyan was cleaning at that house until night.

In between, she went back once, took the beddings back, and washed them in the washing machine. After drying them for a day, they could be laid out by tomorrow.

She was busy until nearly 9:30 pm, and when she received a call from her brother asking where she was, she suddenly realized how late it was.

Lin Xiaoyan told her brother the location, and Lin Hao, realizing it wasn’t far, just two blocks away.

Lin Hao: "Wait there, I’ll ride the scooter to pick you up."

Lin Xiaoyan: "Okay."

Returning home in the evening, after hastily eating, Lin Xiaoyan immediately went to her room to place an order for appliances on her phone.

Before, she thought the house had everything—it was already decorated, and the furniture was all there, so she wouldn’t need to bother buying anything else.

But now, wanting to move in made her realize the essential things in life still had to be purchased.

You would need to buy things like a washing machine and a refrigerator.

Otherwise, living there would be inconvenient, and there’s more...

The light in Lin Xiaoyan’s room stayed on late into the night.

Because she slept too late last night, Lin Xiaoyan didn’t wake up until nine.

She touched her head, feeling woozy, still not well-rested.

"Yanyan, you’re awake. There’s food in the pot, I’ll bring it out for you."

Fan Lalan was watching TV in the living room, with the volume turned down low. Now seeing Lin Xiaoyan coming out, she quickly got up.

"Okay."

While eating, Lin Xiaoyan checked her order from last night and confirmed the delivery time with the seller.

After she finished everything, she looked up, gazing at her sister-in-law, asking, "Sister-in-law, do you want to go with me later to the house to take a look? It’s not far, just two blocks away."

Having been cooped up at home for a few days, Fan Lalan, feeling bored, immediately nodded upon hearing her sister-in-law’s words, "Sure."

After washing the dishes in the kitchen, Lin Xiaoyan came out and said, "Just in time for you to see if you like it there. After mom and dad get discharged, we all can stay there for a while."
