CHAPTER 341: CHAPTER 341: THE NOISY WARD

"In a while, your mom and I will make a trip to the hospital over there, talk to the doctor about the situation, and handle the discharge procedures to get a refund if possible."

Lin Xiaoyan: "Dad, when you go, don’t start an argument. If we can get a refund, great. If not, just let it be."

Lin Fu nodded, indicating he understood.

After a hectic day, everything finally settled down.

Sister-in-law is safe, and the nephew is safe too.

That night, Lin Hao stayed at the hospital to watch over them.

As Lin Mu was leaving, she repeatedly reminded her son to watch the baby carefully and not to sleep too deeply at night!

Before leaving, Lin Xiaoyan gently touched her sister-in-law and nephew to make sure they were okay before departing.

The next morning, when Lin Xiaoyan woke up, her father was cooking at home.

"Dad, did Mom go to the hospital?"

Lin Fu: "Yeah, your mom was too excited to sleep last night and got up at three o’clock to go to the hospital."

Lin Fu: "Yes, your mom was worried someone might take her grandson away and didn’t trust your brother."

Lin Fu also smiled, "Don’t laugh, there’ve been many cases of babies being stolen from hospitals!"

"I know, but last night I made sure our nephew is fine!"

Upon hearing his daughter’s words, Lin Fu sighed, "It’s good you came back, otherwise who knows what might have happened to your sister-in-law and nephew... It’s scary to think about!"

"Last night, your mom and I went to that hospital and told them your sister-in-law had already given birth. The doctor wasn’t pleased at first, asking why she didn’t deliver there!"

"Your mom was so mad she said if they’d delivered there, her grandson would be gone!

The nurses didn’t find anything wrong; it was only their unease and twitching eyelids that prompted them to go to another hospital.

Luckily, the grandson was born safely, or we’d have to sue the hospital!"

Lin Xiaoyan curiously asked, "And then?"

"Later, the doctor didn’t say anything more and quickly processed the discharge, refunding four thousand six hundred plus."

"That’s good, being able to get a refund is enough. I was worried it might cause a dispute and they wouldn’t give it back."

Lin Fu: "The meal is ready, when Xiao Nan returns, you two can eat.

I’m heading to the hospital to deliver some food!"

Lin Xiaoyan saw her father packing food and nodded, "Okay, go ahead. In a while, Sister Nan and I will head to the hospital."

"By the way, Dad, today a single room will be vacated. Have my brother ask the nurse about it, and once they move out, quickly let my sister-in-law move there. It’s too noisy in the large ward."

After Nan Xi returned, the two of them ate before taking a taxi to the hospital.

As Lin Xiaoyan and Nan Xi neared the ward, they heard laughter coming from inside.

Entering the ward, Lin Xiaoyan didn’t see her parents but saw her brother feeding her sister-in-law.

Many people crowded around the middle bed; four or five were in the ward, each talking at once, making it quite noisy.

Lin Xiaoyan glanced over and then looked away.

"Brother, sister-in-law."

Fan Lalan smiled upon seeing Lin Xiaoyan.

Lin Hao also turned, and Lin Xiaoyan raised an eyebrow at the dark circles under his eyes, teasing, "Brother, did you really stay up all night?"

Fan Lalan chuckled, "He did, your brother stayed up all night. When our mom came this morning, he dozed a bit, but before he fell asleep, the baby woke up again."

Lin Xiaoyan laughed, "Then, brother, go home for a nap later. I’ll stay here with sister-in-law."

Lin Hao wiped his wife’s mouth with a napkin, "No need, once we’ve changed wards, it’ll be better."

"Hey!"

Suddenly, someone next door shouted.

The noise made the innermost mother’s baby cry instantly.

"Why are you yelling?! It’s early in the morning and I didn’t say anything when so many people came. Now you’re being so loud, but this ward isn’t just for your family!

Look at how you scared the baby. What if something happens? Will you take responsibility?!"

The innermost mother was infuriated seeing her frightened baby burst into tears, and she lashed out furiously.

The family at the middle bed blushed from the scolding, and the one who had yelled quickly apologized.

Lin Xiaoyan glanced over and pulled the curtain around her sister-in-law’s bed.

"What about the baby?" Lin Xiaoyan asked.

Lin Hao: "Mom and Dad took him for his shots."

Lin Xiaoyan nodded, thankful her nephew wasn’t there since the sudden shout would have likely scared him into crying too.

Soon, the middle bed’s families left one by one, looking disgruntled.

They had been scolded away!

Once they left, the ward fell silent.

Fan Lalan and Lin Hao breathed a sigh of relief. The people had started chattering non-stop from early morning, making it impossible to rest.

"Fan Lalan, the single room over there is ready for you to move in, at Room 606," a nurse walked over to inform them.

Lin Hao quickly agreed as soon as he heard.

"Let’s go, pack up and move!" Lin Hao didn’t want to stay in that ward any longer.

After some busy moments, they moved to the single room.

"It’s much more comfortable here; that ward is simply uninhabitable! Too noisy!"

Lin Mu sat beside her grandson, sighing.

Lin Hao: "I didn’t sleep a wink last night; there were three babies in that room. One would cry, then the other two would wake up and start crying too!

The baby in the middle cried all night, so I ended up holding our son in the hallway to get him to sleep."

Lin Fu: "I wondered why the baby was so sleepy, he just cried once during his shot and went back to sleep. Didn’t sleep well all night, huh?"

Lin Xiaoyan chuckled, "That’s how it is in a big ward, luckily someone got discharged today. Brother, nap for a while, I’ll go get some hot water."

Lin Xiaoyan picked up the teapot and headed out.

This side, being the single-room area, was peaceful and nothing like the noisy large ward area.

It was also noticeably cleaner here.

"Excuse me, coming through."

A bed being pushed from behind caught Lin Xiaoyan’s attention, turning she saw a new mother being wheeled in.
