The Jilted Heiress' Return To The High Life
Chapter 1570
?Chapter 1570:
Karina lifted her chin, undaunted. “So what if I am new to this?”
Moses raised an eyebrow. “Calling in reinforcements already?” Without waiting for a response, he turned toward the sofa, where Nate lounged with an arm drapedzily across the backrest. “Nate, get over here and back me up.” Moses arched one brow at Karina, a slow smirk forming, his eyes glinting with a yful challenge.
With both Corrine and Nate now seated as tactical aides, the game reached a fever pitch. Moses and Karina were electricpetitive, sharp, andughing far too often for anyone else’sfort.
“Unbelievable,” Maxwell muttered, flinging his cards down in frustration. He nced from Corrine to Nate like they were some sort of sorcerers. “Are you two secretly card-counting prodigies or something?” How else could they guess the oues so precisely?
Cutler leaned back in his chair with a sigh of defeat, rubbing a hand over his face. “A straight flush or a full house every time? I am starting to think this is rigged.” He reached for his drink and drained it in a single go.
Nate checked the time and stood up. “It is gettingte. We should leave.” Without waiting, he reached for Corrine’s hand and guided her out of her seat.
Moses frowned, still itching for another round. “Come on, it isn’t even midnight. One more hand.”
But Nate did not even nce back. His hand remained wrapped around Corrine’s as they headed straight for the door, their pace unbothered by the calls behind them.
Just as they exited the private room, Zack and Rowan arrived at the door.
“Heading out already?” Rowan asked, his voice cutting through the hallway. His eyes flicked to Nate, and then lingered on Corrine, unreadable but sharp with curiosity.

At first, Rowan had written her off as just another one of Nate’s inner circle. But something tugged at his thoughts now. Corrine seemed different—worthy of more attention. Especially considering Braylynn’s condition in the ICU—something that had everything to do with Corrine.
Rowan straightened his shoulders and offered a thin smile. “Miss Hond. We meet again.”
Corrine gave a slight nod. “Mr. Larson. It has been a while.”
Naturally reserved, she wasn’t the type to gush over brief acquaintances. Still, out of deference to Nate, she responded with polite civility.
Noticing the subtle tension between the two men, Corrine understood they might need to discuss something and decided to step away. “You two talk. I will wait in the car.”
Without another word, she turned on her heel and walked off, disappearing around the corner.
After she left, the corridor grew quiet, save for the soft flick of a lighter. Rowan brought a cigarette to his lips, the me briefly illuminating his sharp features. He exhaled slowly, his gaze fixed on Nate, eyes unreadable. “You made a move against the Quinn family,” he said tly. “The Elder Council will not overlook it. And all of it—for a woman?”
Zack spoke up, his tone edged with curiosity. “What is the Quinn family’s current status?”fn6178 ?? ??? ???? ?? ???? ???? ???????s, ????s? ??s?? find(?)ovel/fn6178
