CHAPTER 492: 491. CAN’T SLEEP (2)

"Why didn’t you tell me about Miss Reina?"

Ocean’s heart nearly came to a stop and Sol watched between the two of them while staying curled up in the comfy blanket as if he was watching a soap opera.

"Wha-What..."

"How could you lie to me, Master?"

Ocean’s heart started hammering loudly and blood roared in his ears as he heard that. This was impossible.

What did he mean? Did he figure out that Reina and Ocean were the same? But how?

Could he have seen Ocean transform into Reina earlier in the garden? Only the view of the transformation would have answered all the questions.

Considering he loved Reina this must be a huge shock, no, no, wait. He must be heartbroken and livid after finding out about the betrayal of Ocean then. Knowing that he loved Reina but also hiding such a huge thing.

Ocean gulped and spoke, "Your Highness... You see... I..."

Davian clenched his fists, his body trembling and Ocean almost felt as if he would fly into action and start fighting any moment. He prepared for the counter-attack and also to protect Sol. But instead of throwing a punch, Davian shot his forefinger ahead shouting.

"Master, you liar! How could you not tell me that Miss Reina is also here in Denril?!"

Ocean’s brain halted and went blank for a moment, Sol continued looking between them. He wasn’t a fool to not figure out what was going on.

"Eh?" Ocean asked and Davian still glared at him with a hurt expression.

"Master, how could you lie to me?! Why didn’t you tell me that Miss Reina is also here? Did you ask her to come along? But when did she go? And how did she come here? Who did she come with? Why didn’t you tell me, Master?!"

Ocean’s brain started reeling before he licked his lips and asked, "You... saw her?"

Davian huffed, "Yes, I did! I saw her when I was looking for you. I saw her in the garden dancing with His Grace! Why didn’t you tell me she’s also here? I could have met her! Do you even know how much I miss her?!"

Sol bit his lips to keep himself from bursting out laughing while Ocean felt so relieved that he felt like he would slump over.

"Ah... That... well... There was some work and I needed some intel so she is here."

"You wanted some intel so you asked her to come all the way over here?" Davian asked crossing his arms at his chest and Ocean narrowed his eyes.

"What’s with the tone, Your Highness? Lady Reina came here because she also wanted to see her brother’s glory, and I just gave her a task as an excuse." Ocean also crossed his arms at his chest and Davian gave him a suspicious look before he slumped back in his chair.

"But you should have at least told me, Master. Do you even know how I felt when I just saw her here out of nowhere?" Davian cried and Ocean tilted his head wrapping and arm around Sol’s shoulder slightly leaning in as he relaxed.

"Hm?"

Davian stared at him before he said with flushed face, "I almost ran out there to hug her."

Ocean’s fingers unconsciously clenched over Sol’s shoulders making him look up at him.

"I thought I’d finally gone crazy because of her..." He sighed and Ocean felt the tips of his ears turning red. Sol noticed.

"No-Now, now, is that all?"

"Is that all?! Master, do you think that’s a small matter?" Davian looked like he would rant for another hour but then he sighed and then beamed innocently at Ocean.

"Master, can you do me a favor?"

Ocean didn’t like the way he was making this sound.

"What do you want?" Ocean asked narrowing his eyes suspiciously.

"Nothing much, just... can you arrange our date tomorrow after the ceremony?" Davian asked.

"Wha-"

But before Ocean could give a straight refusal, Davian shot out of his seat and rushed over gripping his hand in both of his.

"Now, now, Master, you’re my chaperone, aren’t you? Can’t you do this one small thing for me? I’ll make sure to take good care of her and I’ll also treat her to lunch and bring her back safely. Please, Master!"

Davian pleaded putting the puppy dog eyes expression making Ocean narrowed his eyes. Usually, almost all the kids that were under Ocean would try to use this technique on him but it never had any effect him but strangely enough, this grown man’s puppy eyes were making his heart flutter.

"Sh-Shouldn’t you be asking her?" Ocean asked.

Davian’s smile dropped a bit, "But I don’t know where she is and if I approach her then she will think that I’m still following her. I want to make it look natural and only you can help me with that, Master!"

Sol snorted hiding his laughter and the two sets of eyes turned to him.

"Ah, besides, why is Sol awake so late?" Davian asked.

"Even he couldn’t sleep, so I was going to tell him a story." Ocean said prying his hand out of Davian’s.

"I’m sleepy now, we can continue our story some other time, it’s an important one after all but for now, I think his predicament is bigger." Sol spoke and Ocean could sense the smile behind those words.

Ocean narrowed his eyes at him before he turned to face Davian.

"Please, Master? Do me this favour. You’re going to be my best man in my wedding after all."

Sol snorted loudly this time and buried his face into the blanket while Ocean tried his best to not flip over them.

"F-Fine, I’ll talk to her." Ocean spoke, exasperated and Davian beamed.

"Really?! Thank you, Master!"

"Good, good, now get back to your room." Ocean said making a shooing motion with his hand and Davian beamed before he thanked him again and then turned practically walking on wind as he made his way to the door.

But right before he stepped out he turned and said, "Ah, besides, Master?"

Ocean looked at him, exhausted, "What now?"

Davian smiled, "If you come to like someone in future, please tell me, like how you’re helping me out. I’ll also help you with her."

Ocean sighed before Davian left and Ocean turned to look down at Sol who hopped down from the armchair with a small smirk on his face.

"Best man in his wedding? Or his bride?" Sol teased and Ocean felt a vein pulsing in his forehead before he plucked Sol up from the ground throwing him over his shoulder.

"Hey, what-"

"Good kids sleep on time and wake early to grow taller, and since you’re still awake, it’s quite sure that you’re not growing any taller than that." Ocean said as he walked towards the bed.

"Hey!" Sol shouted offended as he wiggled his legs since his arms were trapped in the blanket that was rolled around his body.

"But, don’t worry, your dear Uncle will make sure you sleep on time and be a good boy, hm?"

"Put me down! How dare you bring up my height?! I’m way taller and stronger than you!"

"Right, right." Ocean spoke.

The next morning, the annex was a flurry of movement, the snow that had fallen the earlier night had wrapped the capital in the blanket of white. The temperatures had dropped and the since the next venue of the ceremony was at the Holy Place, which was now named as Holy Grove.

Denril was a religious country and the recent sightings and also the incident from four years ago had solidified their faith in the Dragons so, this ceremony was to officially bless not only the King and Crown Prince of Denril but also the three Princes who had arrived from Sestia.

Though there were some opposing arguments considering Sestia is a nation that was built after the First King defeated- slaughtered a Dragon while Denril worshipped the Dragons but the three Princes were wise and they accepted the customs with respect which satisfied the King.

Well, why wouldn’t they respect the Dragons since they had one in their lives.

Since there was a dress code for this ceremony, Ocean was dressed in a regal ensemble of white, deep blues and golden. His tailored coat shimmered faintly under the light, adorned with delicate embroidery and ornamental chains that draped from his shoulders. A silken cravat in rich sapphire was fastened at his neck with the communication brooch, while pure white gloves completed the look, adding an air of elegance and quiet authority.

The finishing touch was his white mask with the golden engravings of a flying Dragon.

Ocean nodded in satisfaction before he turned slightly to see Sol, who was also dressed up according to the dress code colors of white, blue, and gold. His outfit had clearly been tailored with warmth in mind—a thick, white coat lined with soft fur draped over his shoulders, its high collar brushing against his jaw. Beneath it, he wore a navy-blue tunic trimmed in gold thread, paired with ivory gloves and dark trousers tucked into sturdy boots. The subtle shimmer of golden accents along his sleeves caught the light, lending a quiet dignity to his otherwise practical attire.

He could have looked dashing if not for him being so small, his golden hair and ethereal gold eyes only made him look like an angel.

"How adorable!"

The maids cooed around while looking at him while he seemed exasperated.

"Why such a rigid expression, Sol? You look so cute." Ocean smiled as he walked over and sat on a knew before him.

Sol gave him a glare, "This coat is too thick, it’s not even that cold."

"It’s not in here but it’ll be colder outside," Ocean said as he placed his gloved hand over Sol’s shoulder.

"So, I made sure that you’d be bundled up just right."

Sol felt a vein throbbing in his head as he could see the teasing glint in Ocean’s eyes.

"You-"

Before he could say something, Ocean reached out and scooped him up on his arm.

"Shall we get going now?"

Sol swallowed his words before he sighed, he didn’t have a choice here. He didn’t like Ocean fooling around him so much but he also didn’t hate the feeling of being taken care of.

Whatever it was, but now Sol did have something that he could use to tease Ocean back though.

"Yes, His Highness Davian must be waiting." Sol commented and Ocean turned his eyes glancing at Sol who smirked.

Ocean didn’t say anything as he simply sighed and walked towards the door.
