CHAPTER 380: CHAPTER 23: ELOPE (4)
Christina still wanted to look back, Andrew quickly leaned over and pressed her head down onto the horse’s back.
They were heading in opposite directions, and Andrew’s heart was in his throat.
In the blink of an eye, Andrejewitsch had already flown over the Beastman Army, and without any prelude, the Beastman Army let out a "hurrah" and released a torrent of arrows at him.
Reason?
A whole Beastman Army was galloping in the wilderness, each Beastman was highly agitated, and if you lie down and stare at them like goldfish, do you really need to ask the reason?
The angry Beastmen didn’t care whether he was a dragon, they attacked regardless.
A wave of arrows stunned Andrejewitsch, who was circling in the air, and he had to hurriedly retreat and gain altitude.
Suddenly, the Beastmen seemed to believe they had won, and one by one, they roared wildly at Andrejewitsch. The noise was earth-shattering.
Regaining his senses, Andrejewitsch, flying in the air, was directly incensed and roared at the Beastman Army.
The Beastman Army was not to be outdone, and another wave of arrows greeted Andrejewitsch.
Andrejewitsch charged straight into the rain of arrows head-on, intending to swoop down and sweep away a swath.
Arrows couldn’t pierce dragon scales, yet, the Beastman Army was not composed solely of Beastmen; there were also One-eyed Giants. A bunch of One-eyed Giants lifted massive stones and wielded tree trunks, hurling them directly at him.
In that moment, Andrejewitsch, already flying low, lost control and crashed onto the ground. The Beastmen recklessly charged forward, surrounding him. Then, a sweeping Dragon Breath followed.
Both sides started fighting indiscriminately, Andrew, who glanced back, was dumbfounded.
"This guy... is crazy, isn’t he?" Andrew suddenly exhaled in relief, laughing.
Christina quietly turned her face toward Andrew.
"It’s okay, we’ve temporarily escaped." Saying that, Andrew grabbed Christina’s reins and made a circle, heading towards the rear of the Beastman Army again.
There was no better time than now to cross the defensive line of the Beastman Army. After all, the Beastman Army was preoccupied with dealing with a deadly Gold Dragon, and had no time for them.
From time to time, Andrew would look back at the battlefield.
Andrew had experienced many wars, but he had never encountered a war like this. It could be said to be a war completely between different dimensions.
In the roars of the dragons, countless Beastmen were thrown into the sky. A giant tail swept through the formations like a rag wiping grease off a table.
*Liches are beings who can stand shoulder to shoulder with Angels and Demons, and so are Gold Dragons. A single Gold Dragon fighting a whole Beastman Army.*
If placed in the South, such a Beastman Army could create a kingdom. Excluding Gray, none of the southern human nations would have the ability to resist. But here, they were just cannon fodder.
Wave after wave, the Beastmen surged towards the Gold Dragon, using iron chains, iron nets, and all kinds of bizarre contraptions. However, with a single Dragon Breath, everything would be reduced to nothingness, including the Beastmen wielding weapons.
The unprepared Gold Dragon appeared to struggle amidst the endless Beastman Army, but in reality, what awaited the Beastmen was only a painful defeat after all their blood had been shed.
This scene was almost impossible to witness in the South before. But now...
The world seemed to be quietly changing. Angels, Demons, Liches, Dragon Clan, maybe even Titans or other terrifying races would arrive in this world. When these powerful beings re-emerged, the original inhabitants of this world would likely become piles of bones under their feet. Even dwarves and elves, who considered themselves superior to humans, would be no exception.
They either had to submit or face destruction. There were only two paths before them.
While galloping, Andrew saw a small Beastman standing alone ahead. The figure was only as tall as Andrew’s waist, with disheveled hair, dirty clothes, fangs like grass, disproportionately large hands and feet. It seemed to be intimidated by the distant fight with the Gold Dragon, and the dagger used as a weapon had already fallen to the ground. He stared in shock, mouth agape.
Turning his face, he directed his gaze to Andrew. Upon realizing that Andrew had a human face, he was even more surprised and opened his mouth to shout.
While they crossed paths, Andrew reached out and pulled him onto the horse.
The little Beastman seemed completely petrified, not resisting, just hugging the horse’s neck tightly as Andrew carried him away.
Andrew did not know the outcome of the war. Because Andrew was not concerned. While both sides were fighting, Andrew had already taken Christina and ran far away. They galloped continuously,
Running and running, running all morning, they did not stop until dusk beside an oasis.
There was a small grove around a central lake, or rather a pond.
The Beastman stood there dazedly, neither running nor resisting, but just stood there in a stupor.
"Let’s rest here for the night. The horse is tired and can’t run any further. We’ll set off again tomorrow."
"Mm!"
The destination, Udoven, still seemed a distance away. However, whether they should proceed, Andrew was already uncertain.
