Chapter 111: Heartbroken and Disheartened
CHAPTER 111: CHAPTER 111: HEARTBROKEN AND DISHEARTENED
But he stood there waiting for quite a while, and nothing came from Eleanor Hollis’s mouth.
A flicker of hurt passed through Hugo Quinn’s eyes, and he strode towards the elevator without looking at her again.
Actually, Eleanor was just stunned; she really didn’t expect Hugo to say such things.
She suddenly felt a chill in her heart, and by the time she came to her senses, Hugo had already left.
Eleanor slowly walked into the elevator, unable to figure out why there was a sour feeling in her heart.
They never had anything to do with each other, it was only right to take Marcus away; Marcus wasn’t her son, she was just the child’s doctor.
Now that the child was better and can go to school normally, surely she was no longer needed.
But the more she thought about it, the sadder Eleanor felt.
When she got to the base of Grandeur, she shivered a bit, feeling that the wind today was particularly cold.
When the taxi passed the supermarket, she habitually went in to buy groceries.
Back in the apartment, she suspiciously lay at the door to listen, wanting to know if there was any noise inside; had they really gone back?
She listened for a while and heard nothing, so she could only take out the key and open the door.
Marcus was not there, Hugo was not there either; it seemed both had left.
She put the groceries she bought in the fridge, feeling her heart blocked, and slowly sat on the sofa,
They just left like this? Without even saying goodbye?
Hugo was too much; after freeloading off her for so long, he just took the child away whenever he wanted, what did he take her for?
She dug out her phone, wanting to call Hugo and question him properly.
But thinking that this apartment was after all his, and she didn’t pay rent, so it offset his expenses on food and drink.
Thinking like this, it seemed she had no reason to call.
Just then, the doorbell rang, and a hint of surprise flashed in Eleanor’s eyes as she got up eagerly to open the door.
Humph, they lied about leaving, but still came back, huh.
Her heart was full of joy, but when she opened the door, she saw Lan Yancy’s face.
"Miss Hollis, the president asked me to pack up his and the young master’s things."
Eleanor’s smile froze on her face instantly, her fingers gripped the doorknob as if they were frozen to it.
She even wanted to close the door and prevent this person from taking their things.
"Come in then..."
She forced herself to stay calm, struggling to curve her lips.
Lan Yancy nodded and immediately went to the two’s room.
Hugo and Marcus had lived there for quite a while, there were a lot of things, and it took him an hour to sort out seven or eight boxes.
"Miss Hollis, the president says he’s sorry for disturbing you during this time, you can continue to live in this apartment as his way of repaying you. The young master is now back to normal, they might not come back in the future, so you can peacefully live your own life."
Lan Yancy was busy packing and didn’t notice that Eleanor’s face had changed completely.
"Miss Hollis, I’m going now."
Lan Yancy was about to leave with the stuff but found he couldn’t drag the suitcase, turning to see Eleanor grabbing the other side.
"Miss Hollis?"
Eleanor’s action was instinctive; when she realized what she was doing, she quickly gave a sheepish smile.
"They still have clothes hanging on the drying rack."
Lan Yancy immediately stopped, "I’ll go get them now."
But when he went to the railing on the balcony, he found his boss’s briefs and the young master’s underpants fluttering in the wind.
A phrase suddenly popped into Lan Yancy’s mind; the scene was too beautiful, he dared not look.
His face flushed instantly as he quickly used a hanger to fetch the two pairs of small pants into his palm.
He felt very conflicted inside; the president has always been a high and mighty person, but today, he saw the other’s briefs.
He felt like he stumbled upon an unbelievable secret and stuffed the items into the suitcase when he got back to the living room.
"Miss Hollis, I’ll head out now, the president thanks you for your hospitality during this period."
Eleanor opened her mouth, ultimately saying nothing until the room was quiet again.
She sat frustrated on the sofa, ruffling her hair.
Soon it got dark.
She slowly got up, went into the kitchen to make herself a bowl of noodles, realizing she had no desire to cook without those two at home.
In the evening, she tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep, feeling that this apartment was really big, so big that it was unsettling.
At Hugo Quinn’s villa, the atmosphere was equally gloomy.
Marcus wore a sullen face as he packed up to leave.
His dad had told him that mommy would come over tonight, which was why he excitedly followed back, but mommy wasn’t here at all.
"Liar!"
He turned and yelled at Hugo, his eyes red.
Hugo also felt incredibly wronged; whose child was this exactly?
"Nobody welcomes you, why are you still going?"
He took out a cigarette, intending to light it when he heard the child say something that pierced his heart.
"Mommy just doesn’t welcome you."
Hugo felt he should sell this child, save the trouble of him always siding with outsiders!
"Go to bed, it’s late now."
He said with a stern face, looking somewhat serious.
Marcus pouted, dragging his little suitcase, "I’m going to find mommy."
He was persistent about leaving; his back looked determined.
Hugo didn’t even smoke, thinking this guy was getting out of hand; he suddenly felt that when Marcus had autism, he was much more obedient.
"Little master, you better go upstairs and sleep, it’s late at night, even if you want to go, there’s no one to send you."
Lan Yancy tried to persuade, but Marcus was determined to leave, ignoring everyone.
"Let him go! I want to see where he can go!!"
This was the first time Hugo lost his temper at Marcus, his heart sour and bitter; after all those years, he raised an ungrateful wolf.
Thinking back to how he left work behind, personally taking care of the child’s daily needs, now the kid liked Eleanor, forgetting all his kindness.
Heartbreaking, chilling!
Hugo maintained a rigid face, watching the child being so stubborn, even opening the living room door.
He really wanted to chase after him, but in the end, he bit his teeth, not believing the child could go far!
Ten minutes later, Lan Yancy came in.
"President, the young master really left."
Hugo’s body stiffened, brow furrowing, "How did he leave? Didn’t he have no driver?!"
"I... I am surprised too, I saw the young master driving off on his own..."
Lan Yancy gulped, a drop of sweat slowly ran down his temple.
"Rebellion!! Hurry and chase after him!!"
If he had known, he wouldn’t have been mad at that kid; who knew the kid was so capable of driving himself?
Damn it, where did he steal the car keys from?
The traffic on the road was so heavy, could something happen to the child?
