CHAPTER 113: CHAPTER 113: IT TURNS OUT TO BE XU MU

After Sasha Morgan hung up the phone, she let out a cold snort. This group of sycophants didn’t even say a word in her defense when the teacher insulted her.

She took the ice cream out of the shop and placed it in front of Marcus.

"Eat up, it’s my treat as an apology. If you got hurt, I’d be in big trouble today."

Marcus quietly looked at the ice cream in front of him, thinking he could call this woman ’Auntie.’ How could she be so vain and make him call her ’Sister’?

But she was nice enough to buy him ice cream, so he couldn’t say anything.

He took the ice cream, had a bite, then smiled and said, "Thank you, Sister."

Sasha Morgan was instantly delighted. Kids were easy to win over, and when she met his mommy, she’d definitely want to make a good impression and try to get closer in the future.

Just as Sasha Morgan was thinking about this, she looked up and saw Eleanor Hollis walking over.

Truly, enemies meet on a narrow road!

She crossed her arms and started to mock as Eleanor approached.

"No matter where I go, I seem to run into you, Eleanor Hollis. Aren’t you like a persistent ghost?"

Eleanor didn’t expect Sasha Morgan to be here. Thinking of the phone call just now, it suddenly made sense. It seemed that she was the one who had called.

However, she didn’t care about all that. Her priority was checking if Marcus was okay.

Sasha Morgan noticed that Eleanor wasn’t going to pay her any attention and got angry. Did this person still think of herself as the high and mighty top student, treasured by the teachers?

"Eleanor Hollis!!"

She stepped forward and raised her hand, intending to slap her in the face.

She had been thinking of doing this for a long time. Every time she saw this face, it brought back her most humiliating memories.

But Eleanor quickly intercepted her hand and threw it aside mockingly.

"Don’t think ignoring you means I’m afraid of you. You just don’t know your place."

Sasha Morgan backed off a few steps, letting out a sarcastic laugh.

"You really have kept that high-and-mighty attitude, Eleanor Hollis. At school, teachers adored you, but out in society, who cares about your grades? You didn’t graduate from college, you don’t even have a decent job, got pregnant before marriage, dropped out—you’ll only be looked down upon by everyone. I’m dying to know if you ever had that bastard child."

Sasha Morgan’s gaze lingered maliciously on Eleanor’s stomach.

The color drained from Eleanor’s face. That child was her eternal pain. Sasha’s words were like opening her wound and rubbing salt in it.

Seeing Eleanor’s change in expression, Sasha knew she had hit a nerve, and proudly lifted her head.

"Splat!!"

A strawberry-flavored ice cream came flying toward his white suit, bursting into a pale pink flower.

The melted ice cream slowly dripped down her clothing.

"You’re not allowed to talk about my mommy!"

Marcus angrily glared at Sasha Morgan, his little hands tightly clenched.

It was only then that Eleanor noticed Marcus standing in front of the car, and she breathed a sigh of relief, rushing over to scoop him up in her arms.

"Marcus, are you okay? Did anything happen? How could you drive out by yourself, you scared me half to death."

Eleanor couldn’t quite understand why she felt so worried about this child. Just the thought of something happening to him made her heart ache painfully.

Sasha Morgan’s body turned cold when she heard Marcus call Eleanor ’Mommy.’ She stiffly turned her head and saw Eleanor fussing over the child.

She was that little one’s mommy...

The child came from a very high status, which meant she...

Sasha Morgan couldn’t even bear to continue the thought, feeling as if cotton had clogged her throat, leaving her speechless.

"Mommy, I’m okay."

Marcus gave a sweet smile, then tugged at her hand. "I’m hungry."

A trace of warmth appeared on Eleanor’s face. "Alright, I’ll take you to eat right away."

She stood up, looked at the dent in the car’s rear, and coldly turned to give Sasha Morgan a look.

"Miss Morgan, the insurance company will contact you regarding compensation. Please make sure your phone is available."

Sasha Morgan stood frozen, feeling like her brain had been struck by lightning. She’d been busy ridiculing Eleanor, but it turned out she was the child’s mother!

So who was her husband? Could he be a super-rich second-generation heir?

When Eleanor dropped out of college due to pregnancy, could it have been because of this child in front of her?

Sasha’s mind was buzzing, unable to accept this reality.

The people around hadn’t left and started discussing Eleanor as they pointed her way.

"She’s actually the child’s mommy and dressed so low-key. True wealthy people really are low-profile."

"Yeah, and she seems well-mannered too, staying so composed after being scolded by that arrogant woman."

"I wonder whose boss’s child this is."

Sasha Morgan took a step back, unable to describe how she felt, only that a chilling cold crawled through her very bones.

"Screech!!"

Another luxury car suddenly stopped beside them; it was Hugo Quinn who had arrived.

He was just about to get out, but seeing the large crowd, and Eleanor with Marcus standing not far away, he paused.

His brows furrowed—it would only cause trouble for Eleanor if he got out now.

After all, his ex-wife was Grace Lynch, a fact known by many in Serenford. As long as people followed entertainment gossip, they’d know about his recent divorce from Grace.

If he went out there, everyone would think Eleanor was Grace.

The hand holding the car door slowly pulled back, and he let out a mocking laugh.

Wasn’t he angry with Eleanor? Why was he still being so considerate?

"Mommy, it’s Daddy’s car."

Marcus’s eyes lit up when he saw the car stop.

Eleanor was somewhat reluctant to go over. After all, the man had just moved out today, and if she went over, would Hugo Quinn think she was trying to cling to him?

"Mommy, let’s go."

Marcus tugged on her, wanting to go over, but Eleanor stood still, full of inner turmoil.

Sasha Morgan watched their interaction, feeling even colder inside.

Just a moment ago, she was thinking of making a good relationship with the little one’s parents, thinking there might be business connections in the future.

Turns out the little one’s parent was the very Eleanor she despised!!

She was driven mad by jealousy, her heart heavy with bitterness.

"Mommy, let’s go over."

Marcus repeated, looking at her with a pitiful gaze. "Mommy can do without Daddy, but not without me."

Luckily Hugo Quinn couldn’t hear this, or he might have fainted from anger.

Eleanor was amused by him, sighed, and headed toward the car where Hugo Quinn was.

She opened the car door and saw Hugo sitting in the back seat, silently. She couldn’t help but start nagging him.

"Mr. Quinn, Marcus is still young. How could you let him drive out by himself? What if something happened? Besides, letting a child drive is a violation of the law."
