The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad
Chapter 327: President Quinn’s Showing Off
CHAPTER 327: CHAPTER 327: PRESIDENT QUINN’S SHOWING OFF
The executives nearby quickly bent down, wanting to pick up the red booklet on the ground. After realizing what it was, everyone started to flatter him incessantly.
"President, turns out you’re already married to Miss Hollis. Congratulations, congratulations, truly a match made in heaven!"
"Yes, I knew you would get married soon. Miss Hollis might be expecting a child shortly."
Hugo Quinn’s lips curved slightly; he was quite pleased with the comments. He took the marriage certificate and nodded nonchalantly.
"I’ll take your good wishes."
Just as he finished speaking, the elevator dinged, indicating it had reached the top floor.
The executives surrounded him as they headed to the meeting room.
Perhaps in a good mood, during the meeting, Hugo rarely raised his voice; he sat quietly throughout, and when the HR manager made a small mistake, he merely smiled it off.
The meeting room soon felt energized, everyone spoke passionately while Hugo listened quietly.
Even in the afternoon, when he went to have a meeting with another company, Hugo still carried the marriage certificate with him. During the discussion, the certificate fell from his pocket, prompting another round of compliments from the other party’s CEO.
Although Hugo spoke modestly, his lips were already curled up in satisfaction, and the cooperation was quickly settled.
The whole afternoon went by like this; wherever Hugo went, everyone noticed his marriage certificate. He basked in a day of flattery before heading home lightheartedly.
Lan Yancy had been by Hugo’s side all day, seeing his childlike behavior, she found it amusing. Probably only Miss Hollis could make the President behave like this. She hoped the couple would complete their wedding ceremony soon.
Back home, Hugo sat on the sofa, staring at the marriage certificate repeatedly.
Eleanor Hollis sat across from him. His thorough examination of the marriage certificate made her a bit embarrassed.
He’d been staring for half an hour already; could he possibly find a flower sprouting from it?
She twitched her lips but said nothing.
After another ten minutes, Hugo finally put the marriage certificate away, looking satisfied.
"Eleanor, where would you like to go for the honeymoon?"
After marriage, naturally comes the honeymoon. His mind was already flooded with ideas; they must leave Marcus behind when honeymooning, ensuring no disturbance in their couple’s world.
Eleanor was taken aback. She hadn’t thought about the honeymoon yet; it didn’t seem to be the right time.
"Let’s wait a bit longer; I don’t want to go anywhere for now."
She took a sip of tea beside her, but her wrist was quickly grasped by Hugo.
"No way, pick a place you want to go, and I’ll go with you."
"Dad, Mommy, are you going out to have fun? I want to go too!"
Hugo’s voice was a bit loud; Marcus, who had just come downstairs, heard everything clearly.
Hugo’s face stiffened as he slowly released Eleanor’s hand.
"You heard wrong. Your mommy and I will stay home. Marcus, have you finished your homework?"
He spoke with sincerity, lying without a facial twitch.
Marcus, being a child, quickly got distracted by his topic diversion.
"I already finished it; I’m just down to get some water."
Marcus walked to the water dispenser, wiggled his ears, then turned to look at Hugo.
"Dad, are you trying to leave me behind and go for a couple’s getaway with Mommy?"
Truly Hugo’s offspring; he quickly guessed his father’s inner thoughts.
Hugo felt a bit guilty, but soon adjusted his expression.
"I’ll be busy lately; how could I go on a honeymoon? I only said that to cheer your mommy up."
Marcus nodded in understanding; as he reached the stairs, he didn’t forget to remind him.
"You being able to be with Mommy is thanks to me. Even if you go on a honeymoon, you better take me along. If not, next time you argue with Mommy, I won’t help you."
Clever little kid.
Eleanor heard the father-son conversation, and her lips curved up. After Marcus went upstairs, she raised her eyes to glance at Hugo.
"I don’t have honeymoon plans for now, but we can go to the seaside tonight to watch the sunrise if we leave now. We can arrive by 4 or 5 AM."
As soon as she finished speaking, Hugo pulled her up.
Hugo asked Lan Yancy to prepare the RV. The RV was well-equipped; they could comfortably sleep inside.
This was Eleanor’s first time seeing the RV. Once inside, she looked around in amazement.
"How come I’ve never seen you use this before?"
Hugo hugged her, took the remote, and turned on the TV inside.
"This is for when going on outings. I used to like going out with Julian and the others, but that was years ago. This car has been idle since. Everyone has their career now; Julian is so busy he doesn’t even have a moment’s rest, and Evan is busy with entrepreneurship."
Listening to him, Eleanor suddenly felt envious.
The few young and wild friends gathering together, fearless at the time, doing whatever they wanted. Once they understood what they wanted, they worked hard together. How many friends like that can one have in life?
Being an RV, the bed inside wasn’t large; the two lay side by side, with Hugo holding her.
The car gently rocked, and soft music suddenly played—Hugo had switched the TV to music and opened the window beside them.
The wind outside was strong; all scenery retreated rapidly. The round moon hung in the sky, visible with just a glance up.
Eleanor quietly gazed at the face in front of her, suddenly feeling this might be the most romantic thing she could imagine.
Hugo took out a blanket, covering her, holding her tighter.
"If Marcus knew we left him behind, would he be mad?"
Eleanor finally had a pang of conscience, remembering Marcus was still at home.
"He won’t be. We’ll return early in the morning and say we went out for dinner."
Hugo opened the nearby glass cabinet, placing a glass of red wine in front of her.
"Want a drink?"
Alone with a man, drinking, Hugo’s intentions were obvious.
Yet Eleanor still took the glass and had a sip; they snuggled and finished the entire bottle of red wine.
The wine’s effect was strong, and Eleanor’s drinking capacity wasn’t good, making her quickly dizzy.
Hugo carefully tidied the wine glasses and bottles, placing them in the cabinet, then proceeded to undress Eleanor comfortably.
"What... what are you doing?"
Due to drinking, Eleanor’s face was red as she spoke stutteringly.
Hugo stroked her cheek, coaxing like with a child.
"Giving you a physical checkup, take off your clothes first."
He was earnest, as if that was truly the case.
