The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad
Chapter 333: Want to Meet Hugo Quinn
CHAPTER 333: CHAPTER 333: WANT TO MEET HUGO QUINN
She had breakfast with Hugo Quinn and immediately went to the company. However, at noon, when she went downstairs, she saw Meredith Sterling outside Grandeur.
Meredith Sterling’s face was deathly pale, standing in front of her, saying she wanted to meet Hugo Quinn.
Eleanor Hollis felt irritated, furrowing her brows.
"If you want to see him, just call him directly. Why are you here?"
Meredith Sterling seemed startled by her attitude, trembling continuously; one might think Eleanor was bullying her.
Eleanor really didn’t want to get entangled with her and just said perfunctorily.
"Hugo and I have a meeting soon. If you’re here to see him now, he probably won’t meet you."
A hint of disappointment flashed in Meredith Sterling’s eyes, and she walked away, looking back three times with each step.
Eleanor bought what she needed and went upstairs.
"Let’s go, this meeting will last until the afternoon. Just keep me company, and you can go out for air in the middle, but don’t go far. We’ll go home together then."
Hugo put his arm around her, smiling as he spoke into her ear.
The two weren’t avoiding anything in the company since the higher-ups knew they were legally married.
They took the dedicated elevator directly to the parking lot, so even if Meredith Sterling waited outside like a fool, she wouldn’t encounter Hugo Quinn.
Meredith indeed didn’t leave, staying where she was, but she didn’t see Hugo by three in the afternoon. She had to pull someone coming out of Grandeur to ask.
"Excuse me, where is Hugo Quinn? I have something to discuss with him. His phone is off. I am his relative."
Since she looked very pitiful, the executive that she stopped quickly believed her and told her where Hugo was attending a social event.
Meredith turned, a smile flashing in her eyes, immediately getting a taxi to go there.
The meeting had already been going for over an hour by then. Eleanor felt stuffy and quickly went downstairs for some air.
As soon as she came down, she saw Meredith Sterling waiting below, and her brow furrowed tightly.
"Miss Hollis, I really have something urgent for Hugo. Last night when he came to see me, he left something behind, a small tie clip. I want to return it personally and tell him I am leaving."
A tie clip left in a hospital room?
Eleanor knew this person intentionally said those words, hoping she’d misunderstand, and reached out her hand.
"Give the tie clip to me. He’s in a meeting and can’t see you."
"Miss Hollis!"
Meredith suddenly knelt down, crying as if raining, gripping the hem of Eleanor’s clothes with one hand.
"I beg you, Miss Hollis, I am already pitiful enough. Could you help me? I just want to say goodbye to him."
Eleanor was well aware of her intentions, knowing that even her acting weak wouldn’t have any effect, and turned around coldly.
"Hugo is my husband. I won’t let someone with ill intentions get close to him. Give up trying to find a breakthrough with me."
She said coldly and went upstairs, leaving Meredith Sterling screaming heartbreakingly.
"You tell Hugo! If he doesn’t come out, I’ll wait here until he comes to see me!"
Eleanor felt a bit vexed and immediately pressed the elevator door.
When she entered the meeting room, she was quiet and just waited for Hugo on the side.
The person sitting opposite Hugo was the head of another company, and they were having a lively discussion, seemingly about to reach a collaboration.
"President Quinn, after this ends, how about I treat you to dinner? Let’s go to a KTV, the girls there are quite nice, and you can find any personality type you like."
The boss, evidently an expert in romance, said while shaking hands with Hugo.
Hugo glanced at Eleanor, noticing she was eavesdropping intently, with a smile tugging at his lips.
"My family keeps a tight reign on me, I’d end up kneeling on a washboard if I went."
"Haha, so you’re henpecked, President Quinn. Seems you have a great relationship with your wife, so I won’t disturb you."
Once everyone left, Hugo placed his arm around Eleanor’s waist.
"Let’s go eat something."
Eleanor, hearing him say that, immediately forgot about Meredith Sterling still waiting outside.
"What should we eat? I want shrimp. Is that okay?"
Just when she went downstairs, she saw an advertisement for crayfish and suddenly craved shrimp.
Hugo indulgently nodded, "You can eat whatever you want. Let’s go, we’ll take the private elevator."
The two sat down at a crayfish place. Eleanor felt a bit embarrassed; Hugo looked so smartly dressed yet was willing to come with her here.
"Some people are allergic to seafood, aren’t you allergic, are you?"
She had been shocked previously when Hugo was allergic to cat hair, so now whenever they ate things like this, she’d habitually ask.
"No, you don’t need gloves. I’ll peel for you."
When the shop brought over two boxes of crayfish, Hugo adeptly donned gloves and began peeling them for her.
Watching the peeled shrimp placed in her bowl, Eleanor felt a wave of emotion rising inside her.
Who was Hugo Quinn? The CEO of Grandeur Group, always busy, living intricately in the eyes of others. Yet here he was, sitting with her in a crayfish shop, peeling shrimp for her personally.
"Eleanor, aren’t you eating?"
Hugo noticed he had been peeling for a while, yet Eleanor hadn’t moved her mouth.
"No, I just feel that this doesn’t quite suit you. Everyone here dresses casually, but you, in your business elite attire, seem out of place."
Hugo’s eyes lowered quietly as he continued peeling shrimp.
"You’re my wife; don’t be so surprised. This should be expected."
Hugo put another peeled shrimp into her bowl, his face gentle.
Eleanor stopped dwelling on it and started eating one bite after another right away.
After they finished, it was already seven in the evening.
Leaving the row of stores, Hugo worried she might find the shrimp too spicy, quickly went to buy a cup of milk tea.
With the warm milk tea in hand, they sweetly returned home.
Having just entered the villa, Eleanor suddenly remembered Meredith Sterling waiting outside the building, feeling a blockage in her heart. How did she forget, Meredith said she would wait there indefinitely.
But now that it’s so late, she should have gone home, right?
Thinking this, she didn’t worry anymore and planned to go upstairs to help Marcus with his homework when Lan Yancy walked in anxiously.
"President, Meredith Sterling has been kidnapped. We haven’t found her yet. I checked the surveillance, and it seems like some local thugs did it."
Lan Yancy was visibly anxious. The president had instructed them to watch after her, but who knew Meredith would sneak out of the hospital quietly, and she did it flawlessly. It wasn’t until the afternoon that they realized she was missing.
Eleanor paused on the stairs, Meredith Sterling was kidnapped?
Her heart shuddered, suddenly remembering something Meredith had said.
"Tell Hugo, if he doesn’t come, I will wait here indefinitely!"
