CHAPTER 340: CHAPTER 340: I CAN’T GIVE YOU ANYTHING

Julian Sterling’s lips curled slightly, he didn’t speak, which was a kind of agreement.

Gloria Galloway’s eyes dimmed instantly. The saying "close to the water, the first to get the moon" doesn’t apply here at all. In Julian Sterling’s heart, there’s a wall, a wall that can’t be pushed down. Only when facing the woman in his heart does he willingly come out from behind it.

"Gloria, when you first came, I didn’t know the person who would be my assistant was you. If I had known, I would have refused. Earlier, you already showed a liking towards me, but that kind of affection was just the admiration of a fan for an idol, not deep. You can leave anytime you want; I’m afraid you’ll get caught up. I can’t give you anything, and I’d feel guilty."

Julian Sterling is a good man.

Gloria thought so, but unfortunately, this good man didn’t belong to her.

"Best Actor Sterling, don’t overthink, I pulled you away just because I’m your assistant. I must always ensure your safety."

Julian Sterling smiled, his eyes curved into crescents.

"Thank you."

The two of them didn’t speak further and stayed in this small space for a whole hour.

To Gloria Galloway, this was probably the most memorable hour; her nose was filled with his scent.

When the noise outside gradually subsided, she quietly opened a crack to observe.

The fans who came looking for him had already left, probably thinking Julian Sterling had left the mall and didn’t continue waiting here.

Gloria Galloway breathed a sigh of relief and waved her hand behind her.

"Come out, let’s leave quickly."

As she spoke, she grabbed a rustic piece of clothing from the side and draped it over Julian Sterling’s shoulders.

However, Julian Sterling is simply Julian Sterling; no matter what he wears, he still looks so good.

Gloria Galloway had to take a tawny scarf and wrap it around his neck.

"Let’s go."

Julian Sterling didn’t resist the whole time. He understood Gloria’s concern; if tonight’s event got out, he would probably be trending in no time.

And what he dislikes the most is trending, being judged by others.

He walked behind her as they slowly exited the mall.

Outside, indeed, there weren’t many people left, and the driver who came to pick them up had arrived.

After getting in the car, Gloria Galloway finally breathed out; those fans were really crazy. Despite wearing high heels, they chased as if their lives depended on it.

"Send you home first."

Julian Sterling said indifferently, looking outside without speaking.

Gloria nodded to express her gratitude.

After tonight’s events, it seemed something more had developed between them, but exactly what it was, no one could say.

After lying in bed, Gloria Galloway tossed and turned, unable to sleep, becoming more curious about what the woman Julian Sterling was fond of looked like.

In her dilemma, Eleanor Hollis called her.

Gloria watched her name flash on the phone screen, preparing to be mocked.

"Gloria? Where did you take Julian Sterling? Did you two find a secluded spot?"

Eleanor’s eyes twinkled with laughter; Gloria’s recent actions matched her personality well, grabbing someone and running off like a mad sheep.

Gloria felt a bit embarrassed but was willing to share the recent events with her friend.

"I pulled him into a changing room, where we spent over an hour alone."

Eleanor couldn’t help but give a thumbs up, slowly teasing.

"Nice one, going into the changing room. Didn’t anything happen between you two?"

The changing room is an ambiguous place, a prime spot for flirting between men and women.

Gloria sighed, stroking the cat in her arms.

"Eleanor, could you ask Hugo Quinn what Julian Sterling’s beloved woman looks like? I’m just curious, thinking every day about what kind of woman could make him linger for so long. Do you know? He basically turned me down, saying he’s afraid I’ll get hurt. I feel like he’s been waiting for her to come back all along."

Eleanor sensed her dejected tone and looked questioningly at Hugo Quinn, who was sitting next to her.

"Okay, I’ll ask Hugo right away. If there are any photos, I’ll send them to you."

Gloria quickly thanked her and hung up the phone.

"She wants a photo of that woman?"

Because Hugo Quinn was sitting by her side, he heard their conversation clearly, his expression indifferent.

Eleanor, a bit sycophantic, hugged his arm, her eyes narrowing.

"You and Julian Sterling have such a good relationship, surely you have each other’s photos, right? Honey, I’m begging you, help us out, okay?"

With a call of ’honey’, Hugo Quinn felt entirely at ease.

He picked up his phone, under Eleanor’s gaze, opened their group chat, and found that woman’s photo in the group album.

Upon seeing the photo for the first time, Eleanor’s eyes slowly widened. No wonder Julian Sterling was so infatuated. How should one describe such a look?

She looked like a fox spirit from the Tianshan Mountains, enchanting but also pure and beautiful.

Isn’t this the appearance that all men adore?

She quickly saved the photo and sent it to Gloria Galloway.

After receiving the photo, Gloria didn’t sleep all night, examining the photo over and over again.

So beautiful, so captivating.

But Julian Sterling isn’t someone who judges by looks; she must have other qualities that attracted him.

Talent?

Gloria’s mood fell even further; in terms of beauty, she couldn’t compare to her. In terms of talent, aside from being very competent at work, she knew nothing else, just an ordinary person struggling in society, trying to get promotions and raises; but this girl was different.

Perhaps from birth, she never had to worry about such a life.

Her eyes flickered as she slowly saved the photo.

It seems the road ahead is long, so long that she cannot see its end.

The next day, she arrived at the film set early, seeing Julian Sterling sitting in the makeup room while staff applied makeup for him.

Close to the end of the year, all of his scenes had wrapped up, and today he was here to shoot a high-end luxury brand advertisement.

Gloria Galloway stood to the side, preparing warm water to soothe his throat and placing the soup she had cooked in the morning nearby.

To make the soup, she got up at four in the morning.

She had no other talents, only her dedication and gentleness to move him.

"Best Actor Sterling, this is your look for today, the shoot will start soon. Is there anything you’re not satisfied with?"

The staff’s attitude was very respectful. The entertainment industry is just such a place where hierarchy dictates behavior; if it were any other fringe actor, everyone’s noses would probably be upturned.

"Hmm, not bad."

Julian Sterling said coolly, and when he saw Gloria Galloway arrive, his eyes suddenly flickered.

Didn’t she sleep well? How come her dark circles are so pronounced?
