Chapter 347: From Prisoner to Heiress
CHAPTER 347: CHAPTER 347: FROM PRISONER TO HEIRESS
She restrained her gaze and slowly moved forward, but was stopped when passing through those luxury cars.
The leader took out a photo, looked at her carefully, and then gestured "please."
Grace Lynch was terrified; she didn’t know these people at all. Could it be that Hugo Quinn knew she was deceiving them and refused to let her go?
"Miss, please get in the car. The old madam has been looking for you for a long time."
The bodyguard’s face was full of respect as he opened the car door for her.
Grace felt like she was dreaming. How could she become the lady here?
She still got in, and as the car moved, she felt her entire being was somewhat floating.
Since childhood, she was a foundling. When Bridget Sutton took her in, she had no idea of her identity; everyone thought she was an abandoned baby. But now it seems her identity was a secret.
Upon entering the manor, her heart trembled, forcibly restraining her inner excitement.
"Miss, the old madam only recently learned of your whereabouts. She was planning to seek you out domestically, but Serena Sutton mentioned she could bring you back, knowing your flight would land here, so we hurried over."
So it was Serena, that woman had calculated so well.
Grace’s eyes were full of irony. She thought it was just a normal transaction with Serena; it turns out that woman knew her identity for a long time and sought cooperation.
Entering the living room, she was a little scared her appearance would frighten others. She was too disheveled, thin beyond recognition.
As the door opened, her gaze paused.
Everywhere in the villa was luxurious furniture, just at a glance it felt overwhelming.
"Dear granddaughter, come in and let grandma see you."
The elderly woman sitting on the sofa stood up, supported by a cane, her face full of kindness.
Is this her grandmother?
Grace’s heart almost stopped beating, her palms were sweaty.
"Are you my grandma?"
The old lady nodded, her face full of guilt.
"When you were little, there was an upheaval in the family. The family’s enemies secretly took you away. Child, how did you become so thin?"
The old lady’s face was full of pain, holding Grace’s hand, sitting beside her, wiping tears.
Grace didn’t feel touched at all. She had no feelings towards relatives; now her mind was filled with the wealth in this room. It seemed this was her chance to make a comeback.
Heh, Eleanor Hollis, you probably never expected my luck to be this good, right?
Her lips curled up into a smile, squeezing a few tears from her eyes, she lunged into the old lady’s arms.
"Grandma, it’s been so hard for me outside, boohoo, I accidentally ran into some bad people, haven’t had a full meal in so long. Grandma, I miss you so much, where are my parents?"
Why was there only the elderly woman in the hall, her parents were nowhere to be seen.
The old lady’s face stiffened, then let out a soft sigh.
"All these years you’ve been missing, your parents were always searching for you, eventually they died of depression. I had lost hope myself, never expected you would come back before I died."
The old lady’s face was full of excitement, her eyes reddening.
Because of this child’s disappearance, the family was instantly in tatters, a well-off family fell apart, son and daughter-in-law left one after another, she felt she could barely hold on anymore.
But the son’s dying wish was to find this daughter.
Grace’s heart leapt with joy, it seemed she was the sole heir of this family. That’s good; she was too lazy to handle all those messy affairs. Once this old woman dies, everything will be hers.
Grace’s lips curled further, crying even harder.
This family was the Wexler family, always engaged in international business. However, after losing a child, they settled overseas and never returned.
The Wexler family’s business was quite famous internationally, though they had no company domestically, since only the old madam remained, and she was too exhausted to expand the company back home.
But Grace was different, Grace knew her enemies were still back home; whatever happens, she must return.
She resented Eleanor Hollis, the woman she once looked down on, who snatched away what belonged to her.
She also resented Hugo Quinn; she was his wife, yet he personally sent her to prison.
She had too many targets for revenge; once she took over the Wexler family’s business, she would definitely storm back home!
In the past few days, the Wexler family was in an atmosphere of joy because the little lady they’ve searched for years finally returned. The old madam was very pleased and immediately announced the transfer of all Wexler family assets to Grace.
And Grace immediately changed her name, no longer Grace Lynch, but Grace Wexler.
"Grace, you’ve really suffered all these years, let the kitchen prepare something good for you so you can gain weight back, and nourish yourself well."
The old madam stroked Grace’s hand, finding her pleasing in every way.
She was unaware of this person’s experiences domestically, and had already done a paternity test using strands of hair left by her son back then; the results showed this was indeed their Wexler family child.
So she had no hesitation in handing everything over to Grace Wexler.
Grace Wexler’s lips curled up, she was shocked upon learning of the Wexler family’s assets.
Upon carefully checking the records, it became clear that the Wexler family had a thriving business back then, even when Hugo Quinn’s company hadn’t yet developed. This showed deep foundations.
From a prisoner, she leapt to become a top socialite; such a huge contrast heavily struck her heart.
She touched her face. Since she was seeking revenge, she definitely couldn’t return just like this; she had to have full cosmetic surgery so Eleanor Hollis and Hugo Quinn wouldn’t recognize her, allowing her plan to proceed better.
Grace Wexler smiled a faint smile, lowered her head to sip the tea in her cup. There’s also Nathaniel Quinn, who toyed with her and then discarded her like trash.
She wouldn’t spare the entire Quinton Family!
"Grace, what are your plans next?"
The old madam looked very kind, every move displaying authority, it was obvious she was a formidable businesswoman in her younger days, otherwise she wouldn’t have managed the company so well.
"Grandma, is your health not very good?"
Grace Wexler’s face was gentle as she poured her a cup of tea.
The old madam looked very gratified, sighed.
"Yes, I won’t be living much longer, but I’m still happy; seeing you has already been heaven’s blessing. Grace, when I couldn’t find you, I was planning to donate the Wexler family’s possessions to charity. Yes, heaven’s eyes were open."
Donate to charity?
Grace Wexler’s eyes darkened; so much money, could those people even handle it.
"Grandma, don’t worry, I will manage the company well."
