The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad
Chapter 354: Samantha Sullivan Is Pregnant
CHAPTER 354: CHAPTER 354: SAMANTHA SULLIVAN IS PREGNANT
The mall here is huge, and it’s full of luxury goods. If this camera had never been discovered, who knows how many girls would have suffered.
Hugo Quinn’s face turned dark instantly, and he immediately asked for the person in charge to come over.
When the person in charge saw what Eleanor Hollis was holding, and knowing Hugo Quinn’s identity, sweat instantly appeared on his face.
"President Quinn, rest assured, I will definitely hand this matter over to the police and will not let the person who installed the camera go free."
Eleanor Hollis’s good mood was instantly ruined, but she also knew it was not the person’s fault.
She never changed into the clothes she intended to buy, pulling Marcus and Hugo to leave, thinking she’d never again dare to change clothes in a fitting room outside.
Just as they left the mall, Gloria called, asking if she wanted to visit Samantha Sullivan at Evan Yancy’s place since it was Christmas Eve.
Eleanor thought it wouldn’t be good to bring Marcus and Hugo along, so she bade them goodbye and then took a ride to meet Gloria.
Gloria Galloway was still not in great spirits today, but she hadn’t resigned from Julian Sterling’s company. Julian was willing to give her one last chance, hoping she wouldn’t bring her personal emotions to work.
As soon as they met, Gloria started chatting nonstop.
"Do you know the actress I mentioned last time? She’s been so arrogant lately, telling everyone that she and Best Actor Sterling are a couple. I really don’t know where she gets the nerve."
She had held it in all day but didn’t dare say anything on set, fearing Julian would kick her out in a heartbeat.
Eleanor’s lips curled up in a slight smile as she leaned back comfortably in her chair.
"Julian Sterling doesn’t like trouble. Now that it’s not a big deal, he just can’t be bothered to handle it."
Gloria gave her a puzzled look, then snorted coldly.
"Why do you act like you know him so well?"
Eleanor shrugged, "That’s because you rush in too eagerly without getting to know people first."
They soon reached Evan Yancy’s place. Evan was happy to see them because Samantha hadn’t smiled in a long time.
Lately, Samantha’s mood had returned to normal, but she often liked to stare blankly at one spot.
"Samantha, we’ve come to see you."
As soon as they entered the room, Gloria Galloway announced, placing the gifts they brought on the coffee table.
Samantha tried hard to force a smile, but it didn’t reach her eyes.
"You’re here."
She seemed to suddenly wake up, trying to get up to wash some fruit, but as soon as she stood up, she staggered and almost fell onto the sofa.
Gloria and Eleanor quickly helped her up, only then realizing her face was unusually pale and she was getting thinner and thinner.
"What’s going on?"
Eleanor reached out to hold her arm, helping her to sit down slowly.
Samantha only looked down, not daring to say anything.
She was pregnant, and it was the man’s child. She didn’t even know the man’s name, just that he seemed to be a lawyer.
Could there be anything more tragic than this...
Every time she felt nauseous these days, she grew more and more panicked.
Evan stood by, at a loss. Lately, Samantha wouldn’t eat anything. Even when forced, she could only manage to eat a few stalks of vegetables, refusing anything else.
"Are you..."
Having been pregnant before, Eleanor understood that feeling of collapse, so she guessed the truth.
But Samantha hurriedly covered Eleanor’s mouth, signaling her not to say anything.
Eleanor’s eyes darkened. This wasn’t a solution. By now, she must be over a month pregnant, and when it becomes obvious, Evan would surely find out.
"Evan, you go upstairs first. I have something to say with them."
Samantha pulled out a slight smile. Her tightly clutched hands were already bloody, but her face remained calm.
Evan frowned, but still walked to the stairway, ascending slowly to the second floor.
Once his figure disappeared, Eleanor grabbed Samantha’s hand.
"Are you really pregnant? That man’s child?"
Samantha’s eyes immediately reddened, "Eleanor, do you think I should go and abort this child?"
If you do the math, it was indeed that man’s child.
With her broken body being with Evan, she was already letting him down. Could she let him raise another man’s child?
It would be a joke.
"Are you sure? Samantha, maybe it’s Evan’s."
Eleanor was reluctant, knowing how fragile Samantha’s body was, and if she went through with the abortion, she might never be able to conceive again.
Gloria stood frozen, shocked, covering her mouth without uttering a word.
Upstairs, Evan stood stiffly in the corner, listening to their conversation below, his heart slowly sinking.
After a long while, he finally turned into the study, gently closing the door, his steps rigid.
"Not Evan’s, not his."
She wished it were Evan’s, too. But when her family locked her away, she was still having her period, and after Evan brought her back, they never....
So the child couldn’t be Evan’s, it had to be that man’s.
She was carrying another man’s child.
Eleanor suddenly fell silent. Could Evan accept the fact that Samantha had been with another man, but could he accept her bearing another man’s child?
Evan was such a proud person.
All three fell into silence, unable to think of a solution after a long time.
At four in the afternoon, Evan came down from upstairs, his face devoid of any emotion.
He took the coat from the rack, glanced at them, and spoke.
"Stay and have dinner here. I have a meeting tonight, so I won’t be back."
His eyes were cold, at least in Samantha’s view, incredibly cold.
She sat freezing on the sofa, watching him put on his coat, close the door, and then disappear.
Eleanor and Gloria opened their mouths to speak but ultimately said nothing.
Could they blame Evan? He had already done so much. For Samantha, he repeatedly abandoned his principles.
"He might already know."
Samantha understood Evan; perhaps while they were chatting, Evan was already eavesdropping upstairs.
She forced a smile, recalling his earlier look, knowing they might be over.
It was her fault. If she hadn’t been so concerned about her family, she wouldn’t have been locked up. The ironic thing was that those so-called family members were the ones who killed her parents.
She had brought this on herself.
"Can you help me pack up my things? I need to move out."
She seemed to have suddenly come to a realization, her eyes slightly red as she spoke.
Eleanor and Gloria exchanged a glance, finally sighing and heading upstairs to pack for her.
Samantha didn’t have much, and they finished packing within an hour.
When she got into the car, she still called Evan, but the call was disconnected, and he didn’t pick up.
Samantha’s eyes dimmed completely, and she turned off her phone.
