The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad
Chapter 373: Engaged to the Wexler Family’s Young Lady
CHAPTER 373: CHAPTER 373: ENGAGED TO THE WEXLER FAMILY’S YOUNG LADY
Cole Crawford heard what he said, glanced with his eyes, and suddenly lowered his head to take a sip of coffee.
"Then don’t forget what I said. Get engaged to the Wexler family’s young lady. Didn’t you say you wouldn’t love any woman other than Eleanor Hollis? You and Eleanor have no possibility now. It doesn’t matter whom you get engaged with, and the Wexler young lady is the most suitable for you. After she was found and returned, she’s taken over all the Wexler Family’s business, and the old lady has completely handed over the power. Being with her, there’s no harm, only benefits for you."
This was the deal between Cole Crawford and Xavier Crawford. If Xavier wanted to return to the country, he had to get engaged to Grace Wexler of the Wexler family.
Xavier had agreed, and the Wexler family did not oppose it.
As long as the engagement ended, the two would return to the country together.
The Wexler Family.
Grace sat in front of the mirror, staring at the unfamiliar face, her thoughts somewhat scattered.
This face was surgically done with great success, performed by the most authoritative cosmetic surgeon, and there were no visible traces of surgery. Even standing in front of Eleanor Hollis, she believed Eleanor wouldn’t recognize her.
Grace curved her lips, and she was about to get engaged to the young master of the Crawford family soon. By then, she’d return to Serenford with a brand-new identity, and given that Xavier Crawford was a friend of Eleanor Hollis, becoming Xavier’s fiancée would only further lower Eleanor’s defenses against her.
If not for this reason, she wouldn’t have agreed to get engaged to Xavier Crawford.
The engagement was in three days. Since both of them had other objectives in mind, they were not enthusiastic about the engagement ceremony.
Cole Crawford and the old lady naturally didn’t want to see such a scene. They exchanged a knowing smile and each put a packet of drugs into their wine glasses.
Xavier Crawford and Grace Wexler drank without hesitation, exchanged some pleasantries, and were about to leave.
But Cole Crawford helped them into a room and then locked the door.
He wasn’t about to let Xavier easily get his way. Xavier was in a hurry to find Eleanor Hollis. As long as something happened with Grace Wexler, Xavier wouldn’t have the face to entangle with Eleanor anymore.
Grace, in her haze, vaguely knew what was about to happen, but she didn’t mind. After all, she frequently did such things with Nathaniel Quinn before.
Recently, she had had that membrane repaired. If Xavier touched her, she would seize this man tightly.
The Crawford family’s assets made her envious, after all, they were an old and established family. Being with Xavier wouldn’t be a loss.
Xavier’s mind grew increasingly blurred, suddenly feeling something soft and warm entering his arms.
"Xavier, hmm..."
Grace deliberately made such a sound and then undressed him.
The one who understood Xavier the most was always Cole Crawford.
Cole knew that a small amount of drugs had no effect on his brother, so when administering the drugs, he wasn’t stingy at all and even added a bit of hallucinogen.
Xavier felt dazed until he pressed down on Grace, and his eyes slowly cleared.
"Eleanor... actually, I really like you."
He said emotionally, adding more pressure.
Grace’s face instantly turned unpleasant, but she quickly wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I’m Grace, you have to be responsible for me from now on."
Everything ended two hours later.
Ray Crawford heard there was no sound inside, secretly unlocked the door, and with the old lady, they went outside to have tea, quite satisfied.
The old lady smiled, clinking her cup with Cole Crawford’s.
"My dear Grace is certainly having her first time, and Xavier will surely have to take responsibility for it. I sincerely hope I can hold Grace’s child while I’m still alive."
Whether it was the first time or not, Cole didn’t want to investigate, as long as the other party was the Wexler family’s daughter, it was fine.
"Old lady, rest assured, my brother is a very responsible person."
The two chatted enthusiastically outside, while inside the room, it was cold as ice.
Xavier woke up rubbing his head, only to see himself stark naked. His face turned pale as he stiffly turned his head to see his fiancée sleeping with her head resting on his arm.
A "buzz" sounded in his head, and he panicked trying to get out of bed. But upon discovering a splash of red on the bed, he froze completely.
Was this Grace’s first time? How could he have taken her first time...
Grace woke up groggily, rubbing her eyes, seemingly just realizing what had happened.
"We..."
Her face flushed red, red like a boiled crab.
Xavier tightly gripped his coat, ultimately putting it down.
"It must be my brother and the old lady’s idea. Do you regret it? If you regret it..."
Before he could finish, Grace lifted her head, her face full of determination.
"I don’t regret it. From the first moment I saw you, I liked you. I’m happy to be engaged to you. This is something that was bound to happen sooner or later. I am yours, and in the future, we’ll even get married."
Xavier listened in a daze. This was the first time a girl had ever told him she wanted to marry him.
His feelings for Eleanor Hollis were first love, an innocent crush. Other than Eleanor, he had never been involved with any other woman, so he was unaware of women’s tricks and disguises. A few sentences later, his heart fell for Grace, not exactly love, but a sense of responsibility, indeed.
"Xavier, will you take responsibility for me?"
Grace’s voice was timid as she shyly glanced at him.
Xavier rubbed his head; this was his first time doing such things with a girl, and he couldn’t help feeling a little shy too.
"Yes, if you need me to be responsible, I will definitely take full responsibility."
A hint of a smile flashed in Grace’s eyes. This man was simply too easy to deceive. Indeed, men who liked to fight were just brainless.
This person was nothing like Cole Crawford, so cunning.
The two came out of the room and went to where Cole Crawford and the old lady were.
The old lady was very pleased with Xavier and praised him, then took Grace back.
After they left, Xavier hesitated, but after stammering for a long time, he still said nothing.
"What do you want to say?"
Cole Crawford poured some tea into his cup and slowly blew on it.
"She... she seems to be a first-timer. Brother, shouldn’t we take responsibility for a girl’s first time?"
Cole was stunned for a moment; Grace a first-timer? At first sight of Grace, he could tell she was probably an old hand in matters of love, skilled in playing with men. How could it be her first time? A fool like his brother would easily be deceived. Likely, Grace had gone through an operation.
Only deceiving such inexperienced, innocent boys.
"Hmm, it’s indeed necessary to be responsible. So haven’t you already gotten engaged? When you return to Serenford, nurture your relationship well and strive to get married soon."
Xavier found this made sense and nodded in agreement.
The time he and Grace would head back together was three days later, and the old lady and Cole Crawford both saw them off at the airport.
Grace looked at the row of imposing bodyguards outside, the corners of her mouth curling up.
The times are different now, Eleanor Hollis. Are you ready to face my revenge?
