The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad
Chapter 51: You Make Me Sick
CHAPTER 51: CHAPTER 51: YOU MAKE ME SICK
Eleanor Hollis was initially very nervous, but hearing Old Master Quinn speak so gently, she suddenly calmed down.
"Grandpa Quinn, say whatever you want to say."
This person called her up alone; it must be something important.
Old Master Quinn sighed, recalling Marcus’s attitude towards this person, which further cemented his thoughts.
"Marcus’s condition truly requires your help, but Eleanor, I know how outstanding my son is. Even before Hugo was an adult, many noble ladies came around saying they wanted to marry him. Can you really remain indifferent when you’re with him alone?"
After all, Hugo is a married man now, even if it’s truly for the child, but the two are indeed living under the same roof now.
No woman can remain indifferent after living alone with Hugo for so long.
Eleanor’s fingers tightened, suddenly recalling the intimacy she shared with Hugo that night.
He pressed her beneath him, kissing her wildly and passionately...
She thought she had forgotten, but under the old man’s intense gaze, she recalled it so vividly.
"Grandpa Quinn, I don’t know."
She truly didn’t know, so she didn’t dare lie.
Old Master Quinn looked slightly surprised, then chuckled, "You’re quite honest."
He had always felt that the Quinton Family owed this child; if it were someone else.
He would have issued a threat as soon as she came in.
"Eleanor, Grace Lynch is Marcus’s mother, I won’t let anyone ruin her relationship with Hugo, so you must control yourself, understand? Otherwise, it will be you who’s heartbroken in the end."
The old man made it very clear; if Grace Lynch ended up with any harm because of her, he would certainly side with Grace.
Because Grace is Marcus’s mother, and Marcus is his most adored grandson.
Eleanor nodded, she knew this very well, even though she wasn’t sure what her feelings were towards Hugo.
But one thing she was very sure of, she couldn’t bring herself to ruin someone else’s relationship.
"Grandpa Quinn, don’t worry, I’ll remember everything you said."
Old Master Quinn gave her a deep look, suddenly feeling that Nathaniel really missed out on a good girl, and sighed.
"Go down and have some fun, I’ll continue playing chess with that group of old fellows."
Eleanor nodded, clutching her bag, and left the room.
But at the corner of the stairs, she saw Nathaniel Quinn leaning against the wall.
He also saw her and strode over, placing his hands on her shoulders.
"Did Grandpa call you up because of you living with my uncle, Eleanor? I told you a long time ago, you should move out of that place. I’ve already found you a house, listen to me."
Eleanor felt some pain in her shoulders from his grip, and casually removed his hands.
"Nathaniel Quinn, my matters are none of your business."
As she said that, she was about to head downstairs.
But Nathaniel immediately grabbed her wrist, his eyes complex.
"Eleanor, I... I was really bad to you before. I’ve thought a lot these days, I didn’t cherish you well before, can we start over, please?"
Knowing that it was Eleanor who saved him back then, his mindset completely changed.
Eleanor suddenly found it amusing, how cruel this person had been to her, while she kept account of every bit, how could she return to that cage.
"No need."
She threw his hand away and was about to go downstairs, but tonight Nathaniel seemed possessed; he suddenly pushed her against the wall, intending to kiss her by holding her nape.
Eleanor’s body hit the wall with a slight pain, before she could react, a magnified face appeared in front of her.
She struggled, her eyes instantly flared red, and clenched her teeth, not wanting him to succeed.
But the difference in strength between men and women is too great, Nathaniel caught her chin, leaving her unable to move.
"Let... go....."
Eleanor was already somewhat malnourished, and the man’s strength felt like a giant iron cage, tightly binding her.
Her nauseous feeling kept surging in her stomach, and she detested this face in front of her.
"Bang!"
She kicked him in the most vulnerable spot, almost kneeling from the impact, luckily leaning heavily against the wall.
Nathaniel felt the pain, sweat instantly poured on his face, he raised his head in shock to look at her.
"You really make me sick."
Eleanor harshly wiped her lips, thinking of this person and Grace’s matters, she truly ran to the bathroom to throw up.
Strangely enough, when she used to like Nathaniel, she found him pleasing everywhere.
Once she disliked him, even kissing him became something disgusting.
She stood pale-faced in front of the giant mirror, suddenly recalling the kisses she shared with Hugo that night, why didn’t she feel disgusted?
She tidied herself up, then left the bathroom clutching her upset stomach.
There were still a lot of people in the lobby on the first floor, Joelle Quinn had already gone home, and Nathaniel was nowhere to be found.
She casually found a place to sit down, picked up a glass of water to drink, hoping it would ease her stomach a bit.
"Sister."
A soft voice called, carrying a hint of uncertainty.
Eleanor froze all over, turning to look.
She hadn’t noticed just now; only now did she realize several people were sitting on the other side of the sofa.
Among them was her sister, Anna Hollis.
Anna looked delicate, wearing a pure white off-shoulder dress, her cheeks slightly flushed, probably from drinking.
"Sister, I almost didn’t recognize you just now, the change in you is enormous."
Anna quietly stared at Eleanor and said, casually swirling the wine in her goblet, "Seems you’re living quite comfortably after divorce."
She heard this person got divorced, and at the time pitied her for a few minutes internally.
Eleanor and this sister had always been at odds; more accurately, the sister was always looking for opportunities to trouble her.
"It’s alright."
She took another sip of water, speaking lightly, thankfully the feeling of nausea in her stomach was easing a bit.
"Anna, is this your sister who grew up in the countryside?"
"The difference in your temperament is really vast, I heard she’s been married into the Quinton Family for five years without having a child."
The girl next to Anna started scrutinizing Eleanor, and her tone was far from polite.
Anna’s lips curled, her eyes gleaming, "Sister, when are you going to visit the Hollis Family, Mom and Dad still miss you very much."
Eleanor’s face turned pale, Mom and Dad miss her?
If they really missed her, why haven’t they cared about her life or death all these years?
She truly wondered, how is it that siblings from the same parents can have such vastly different destinies?
One was high and mighty, the jewel held dearly by the Hollis Family.
One was as humble as mud, a weak little nobody that everyone could bully.
