CHAPTER 61: CHAPTER 61: ON THE PIRATE SHIP

It’s the weekend, so this person doesn’t have to go to work.

"Mr. Quinn."

She called hesitantly, her body a bit stiff, as she sat down beside him.

"Mm."

Hugo Quinn’s face showed no expression, just like before. It seems he doesn’t remember what happened last night.

Eleanor Hollis breathed a sigh of relief, but then felt a bit disappointed.

He doesn’t remember, but she does.

"Didn’t sleep well last night? Your dark circles are serious."

Hugo glanced at her and took a light sip of coffee.

Eleanor quickly rubbed her eyes, constantly reminding herself to forget about last night.

"My stomach was a bit uncomfortable, so I fell asleep very late."

She casually told a lie; after all, he knows about her stomach issues.

As expected, Hugo frowned. "Always keep some stomach medicine on hand, don’t forget to take it."

His sudden concern made Eleanor feel a bit overwhelmed, and she bit her lip, "Thank you."

"Mommy."

Marcus ran down the stairs and hugged her firmly.

Eleanor noticed that the child’s mood seemed especially good today, and she couldn’t help but feel happy as well. "Marcus is in a good mood today. Is there something joyful happening?"

Marcus looked up at her, his eyes fixed on her, "Amusement park, Mommy, Daddy is going..."

From his jumbled words, Eleanor knew why he was so happy. Turns out, Hugo was going to take the child to the amusement park.

At this moment, Hugo stood up, leaving a sentence behind, "Let’s eat first."

Marcus pulled Eleanor to sit at the dining table. Since Hugo and Grace divorced, Marcus’ mood seemed to have been good consistently.

Eleanor felt a bit sympathetic towards Grace; the child she gave birth to ended up treating her like an enemy.

Hugo’s peripheral vision was constantly observing Eleanor, and he noticed that after a few bites, she started to daze off, causing his brows to furrow.

"Miss Hollis, you should eat more. The doctor said you’re a bit malnourished."

Upon hearing his words, Eleanor blushed, suddenly feeling a bit at a loss, but still quickly lowered her head and ate quite a bit.

"Thank you for your concern, Mr. Quinn."

Hugo’s eyes were filled with mirth. This person looked like a startled bird, really cute.

After finishing breakfast, Eleanor went upstairs to change clothes and came down to find Hugo and Marcus both waiting for her, making her feel a bit awkward all of a sudden.

"Mommy, let’s go."

Marcus happily came up and grabbed her hand.

Once the three of them got into the car, Eleanor started to feel uneasy again.

Because Hugo was sitting right next to her, she could clearly smell his scent, different from the alcohol smell of last night.

While she was lost in her thoughts, she suddenly felt a weight on her shoulder.

She turned her head to see that Hugo had somehow fallen asleep.

From her angle, she had a perfect view of his high nose bridge and long eyelashes.

This man’s skin was truly flawless; even up close, there was not a single pore to be seen.

She was even more clueless about what to do. Should she wake him up? That seemed too tactless.

Not waking him up, the child was watching after all.

Eleanor hesitated for a while, feeling the man’s head getting closer.

Initially, he was just lightly touching her, but eventually, he nestled his head directly into her neck, his warm breath spraying onto her skin.

Eleanor’s face flushed red, and her skin followed suit, as if she had turned into a boiled shrimp.

Marcus was sitting opposite them, glancing at one, then the other.

"Your dad is probably just too tired, so he... fell asleep," Eleanor stammered, feeling like steam was emitting from her entire body.

She craned her neck, trying to distance herself from Hugo’s breath, but he only moved even closer, his thin lips pressing tightly against her skin.

Eleanor’s face grew even redder, feeling like those lips were tickling her neck, ambiguous and teasing.

Mr. Quinn couldn’t possibly be doing this on purpose, could he? He’s not that type of person.

Besides, he was with Grace for five years, and she heard that during those five years, he never touched Grace, so he shouldn’t be a lecherous person.

Maybe it was because he was drunk last night and was unwell, so he fell asleep as soon as he got into the car.

In her heart, she made numerous excuses for Hugo, and her face got redder and redder.

Lan Yancy saw this scene from the rearview mirror, his face startled, then sensibly slowed down, guessing the boss didn’t want to arrive too quickly.

He had been by the boss’s side for so many years and understood his thoughts well.

Eleanor noticed the car slowing down, almost at a turtle’s pace, and couldn’t help but speak up.

"Lan Yancy, isn’t this speed a bit too slow? You’ll be fined at this rate."

Lan Yancy’s face didn’t flush, nor did his heart skip as he began to lie, "Miss Hollis, the car has some issues, sorry, for now it can only go at this speed."

Eleanor felt a little frustrated, unsure why, but she had a nagging feeling he was lying to her. But then again, why would Lan Yancy, a person like him, lie to her?

Lan Yancy was Hugo Finn’s personal secretary and also a high-level executive at Grandeur, no reason to lie to a small character like her.

Hugo leaned against Eleanor’s neck, hearing Lan Yancy’s words, and a subtle smile appeared on his lips.

He trusted Lan Yancy’s work.

Eleanor became more and more agitated, noticing Hugo’s body almost sliding down to the floor, she hurriedly reached out to support him.

Hugo took the opportunity to press his whole body against hers, his lips moving with the car’s vibrations against her neck.

Marcus propped his chin with his hand, watching the scene with a slightly serious expression.

Is Daddy interested in Mommy? So he’s deliberately teasing her to take advantage?

The car wobbled its way for nearly two hours before finally stopping at the amusement park entrance.

Only then did Eleanor’s tense body slightly relax, supporting the man leaning against her.

"Mr. Quinn, we’re here, wake up."

It was as if Hugo only then opened his eyes, with a hint of confusion in his brows, and slowly rubbed his temples.

"Sorry, fell asleep."

He seemed genuine, as if really suffering from a hangover.

Eleanor was somewhat regretting her earlier wild thoughts, "It’s okay, you might have gotten drunk last night, so you’re having a headache today. If you’re not feeling well, you can rest a bit longer in the car, I’ll take Marcus in."

However, Hugo had already gotten out of the car, showing no signs of fatigue.

"Let’s go, it’s rare for Marcus to be this happy."

Marcus looked at his father strangely, sensing something was off, but couldn’t speak of it.

The warmth that had filled Eleanor finally dissipated a bit. She composed herself before following the father and son duo.

Lan Yancy remained at the original spot, looking at Eleanor’s naive back, shaking his head, unaware that Miss Hollis had boarded the father and son’s crazy ship?
