CHAPTER 9: CHAPTER 9: YOUR BEHAVIOR IS INAPPROPRIATE

"Nathaniel, given our current circumstances, your behavior is inappropriate."

She remained as gentle as always, even in rejection.

"Had it not been for that incident, you were supposed to marry me. Grace, do you really love him? Uncle is a very cold person; he doesn’t smile or speak much to anyone in the Quinton Family. You’ve seen how cautious everyone is around him. Are you truly happy being with him?"

A hint of grievance flickered in Grace’s eyes. Over the years, Hugo indeed hadn’t spoken much to her. If it weren’t for Marcus, she might not even be able to step into his villa.

Her bowed and aggrieved demeanor pierced Nathaniel’s heart. He quickly pulled her into his embrace, "Grace, divorce him, will you? I’ve already divorced; I’ll marry you and give you a grand entrance."

"Nathaniel, this isn’t right..."

Though she spoke those words, Grace only struggled slightly, then couldn’t help but cry, "I’m sorry, Nathaniel. You should let go of this love. I heard you divorced Eleanor, and I felt sorry for her. Back then, it was because of me she lost that child."

Nathaniel’s eyes filled with disdain upon hearing Eleanor’s name, "If it wasn’t for that incident, she wouldn’t have married me, enjoying the life of a wealthy wife. Grace, you’re just too kind, always blaming yourself for everything."

Nathaniel felt the fragrance near his nose, holding her tighter until he pressed her against the pillar, leaning in to entangle with her red lips.

"Nathaniel, be sensible!"

Grace gasped, her voice filled with allure, further challenging Nathaniel’s self-control.

"Grace, Uncle doesn’t treat you well. Be with me; I’ve already severed ties with Eleanor, you’ll never suffer any grievances with me."

Grace nestled in his arms, crying non-stop, "Nathaniel, I know you’re good. Give me some time... I’ll think about it."

She had been placating Nathaniel with this sentence for five years, and every time he believed it.

"Alright."

Nathaniel lingered on her lips for a while, then agreed contentedly.

Eleanor had witnessed scenes like this countless times. Her feelings for Nathaniel were completely exhausted through repeated disappointments, possibly the reason she disliked Grace.

Clearly married, yet giving Nathaniel empty hope, causing her own husband to neglect her for five whole years.

When Eleanor received the money, her eyes flickered slightly, and she immediately paid off the overdue hospital fees.

Seeing her grandmother safely back in the hospital room provided some comfort as she muddled her way out of the hospital.

She had just divorced Nathaniel and spent all her savings on the hospital, leaving her with nowhere to go.

As she was contemplating, a call came from Quinton Manor, personally made by Old Master Quinn, asking her to return to the manor.

Eleanor froze; she’d only set foot in the manor a few times over the years and was entirely invisible within the Quinton Family. Suddenly receiving a call from Old Master Quinn made her feel surprisingly honored.

The car from the Quinton Family quickly arrived. Eleanor glanced at her wet clothes, feeling somewhat embarrassed.

"Miss Hollis, Old Master Quinn asked me to pick you up. Please get in the car."

Eleanor nodded and boarded the car, nervously clutching the edge of her clothes.
