    Someone was about to speak, but Sierra didn’t give them the chance.

    “All you ever do is run your own little calctions,” she said sharply. “Ask yourselves honestly–since Jonathan became head of the family, haven’t you been getting more money than before?     Her words hit hard, leaving the room momentarily stunned.

    Everyone knew Sierra was now thedy of the house, but they had never taken her seriously. Her presence had always been quiet, almost invisible.
