Gu Bei merely snorted, not even bothering to respond.

The vice general looked at his back filled with worry, but could only helplessly follow.

At the back of the team, a man was tightly bound to a tree, his expression indifferent, devoid of any emotion.

Gu Bei expressionlessly took the letter, opened it, and upon seeing the content, was engulfed in a state of incredulous shock.

Soon after, immense joy followed, making his hand holding the letter tremble uncontrollably.

Seeing this, the vice general drew the large knife he carried and pointed it at Liu Jin.

"Young master, my heir is not currently at the mansion." Liu Jin, having been ordered only to deliver the letter, was unsure if he could divulge the heir’s whereabouts, so he was momentarily hesitant.

"Where is he?" Gu Bei asked.

"Qingshan Town." After some thought, Liu Jin decided to say it.

Since the heir sent the letter, it meant he knew Gu Bei, and after seeing the letter, Gu Bei became anxious to find the heir, indicating it was something of utmost importance.

However, he left some room by not mentioning Taohua Village.

"Then let’s go to Qingshan Town, you lead the way." Gu Bei said looking at Liu Jin.

He was young, but far from foolish, especially given the experiences he had encountered lately, which made him grow up almost overnight.

Not being willing to disclose the exact address wasn’t an issue; as long as the person was with him, it was fine.

The vice general, however, panicked, "Young master, you promised the prince you must rush to the northern lands immediately!"

Gu Bei calmed down, and said after a moment, "I won’t go back on my promise, but I must meet with the Heir of King Nan’an first."

Having stayed in Prince Zhenbei’s Mansion for some time, Gu Bei knew it was not peaceful there. His sister was still young, and he was about to go to the frontier. Everyone around him was sent by that man, and there was no one he could trust, so he could not mention his sister yet.

He must first see his sister before making any decisions.
