CHAPTER 42: WILL EGGS TURN INTO CHICKS?
Lin Sanshui and his group immediately looked over here.
Gu Nian stiffened her body, not daring to move her head.
"No, I’m not doing anything, I’m just looking for the broom," Gu Nian rolled her eyes and came up with an idea, reaching out to scratch the back of her head in confusion, "I remember the broom was right behind the door, where did it go?"
Lin Sanshui breathed a sigh of relief; fortunately, the child didn’t hear what they were discussing.
Lin Shui and Lin Ershui saw this and quickly said they were leaving, and Lin Sanshui went to see them off.
Gu Nian also let out a sigh of relief. Luckily, she wasn’t caught eavesdropping; that would have been awkward.
Gu Nian returned to her room once, and when she came out, she was holding a peach, pink and large, like the legendary Immortal Peach.
Little Hu ran up to her again, "Sister, where did you get the peach?"
Gu Nian had already thought of her excuse, "The one given to me yesterday, I didn’t eat it, just left it in the room."
Saying this, Gu Nian washed the peach and headed to the main room.
"Second Brother, this peach is for you, eat it, and your wound will heal faster." Gu Nian offered the peach to Erhu like it was a treasure.
Erhu, feeling tasteless in his mouth, took it and started eating, "Little sister, you’re the best. After Second Brother heals, I’ll take you up the mountain to find delicious things; we won’t bring Sanhu and Little Hu."
"Thank you, Second Brother, you’re so good," Gu Nian said with a sweet smile.
Of course, she didn’t know this peach could really help Erhu heal faster, as she had never been injured, and when she ate it, it just tasted delicious without any other discoveries.
Erhu crunched it down in a few bites and soon felt warmth and itchiness on his back, wanting to scratch but mindful of his wound, he could only endure it with a stiff face.
Dahu returned, so Gu Nian could no longer enjoy the luxury of having a room to herself.
Watching Sanhu and Little Hu quickly fall asleep, Gu Nian, accustomed to staying up late, couldn’t fall asleep at all.
Lying on the bed, she allowed her mind to enter the space, heading straight for the small pond where she kept her fish.
The wheat she had scattered by the pond had matured, swaying with heavy wheat ears.
As for the pond, at a glance, it was full of fish below the water.
Gu Nian realized the truth.
Time in the space really couldn’t be measured like the outside.
Fortunately, her physical body couldn’t enter; otherwise, she feared she might grow up or grow old in a night.
Marvelling at the space’s powerful functions, the matured grains and fruits wouldn’t spoil even if not harvested, just hanging heavily on the branches, though they wouldn’t bear more fruits either.
The peach tree, which she clearly had picked from before, was once again bearing new fruits, and Gu Nian smiled with satisfaction.
There were already enough plants, it would be great if she could get some animals in here, ideally forming a food chain. She wondered if this place would become a real little world in the future.
In the dark, Gu Nian stealthily got off the bed and sneaked towards the kitchen.
In the kitchen, there were two eggs just collected today, which Gu Nian put into the space, wondering if they could hatch into chicks.
As for explaining the missing eggs tomorrow, she already had a plan in mind.
Given the number and size of fish in the pond, who knows how many years have passed in the space compared to one night outside, and by tomorrow morning, perhaps the eggs in the space will have hatched and grown enough to lay eggs themselves.
She busied herself until midnight, and only then did Gu Nian fall asleep with a smile on her face.
At dawn, as soon as the rooster crowed, Gu Nian suddenly opened her eyes.
