The Male Leads Are Trapped in My House
PAID Chapter 198
“They look like servants… Probably the mansion’s staff.”
At Ethan’s words, I glanced at the corpses again, but my view was quickly blocked.
Ethan had covered my eyes with his hand.
He gently turned my head away and whispered near my ear,
“It’s better if you don’t look at things like this.”
I had seen far worse. But I supposed he was right—staring at corpses wasn’t exactly good for my mental well-being.
“Spring… Spring water…”
Kellyan, still leaning on Ethan for support, continued mumbling the same words over and over.
I pushed Ethan’s hand away and scanned the hallway.
The vast corridor was lined with evenly spaced, cylindrical arches. But beyond that, I couldn’t see much.
It was too dark.
“I should’ve brought a lantern.”
I sighed, and Ethan immediately pointed at the wall.
“There are iron torches mounted on the walls. Miss Cherry, can you rip one out?”
“Probably?”
Perfect. If I pulled one out, we’d have a portable light source.
I grabbed one of the iron torches and gave it a tug. Hopefully, pulling this wouldn’t cause the whole damn wall to collapse.
Crack—
Thunk. Clatter—
The metal came loose with a shower of crumbling stone dust.@@novelbin@@
I had pulled too hard, bending the torch’s metal rod slightly. But at least it was out.
I paused, waiting to see if the wall would collapse. It held steady.
Ethan watched me with an expression that was far too amused.
“Got a lighter?”
“Oh, yeah. Here.”
