CHAPTER 53: THEY ARE MY SISTERS

Luke and Noah reached home when they saw two guards wearing full body silver armor standing at the two sides of the door.

Both of the guards looked similar in appearance, indicating that they were brothers. Luke felt that he had seen them somewhere before, but couldn’t remember well, but just when he reached near them and got a clear look, his doubts vanished.

"Third young master!" both the guards bowed as they greeted upon seeing Luke.

"Sir Bren! And also, Sir Fred! What are you two doing here?" Luke asked, surprised seeing them here.

"Young master, we’re First young master, Lady Anna’s guards now! since she’s here, we are bound to follow." Bren said.

In the Ranatosh household, the daughters are not called young lady, but young master to signify that they are no less then the sons and are treated in equal footing.

"Big sister is here?" Luke asked in shock.

"Second young master, lady Layla is here too!" Fred said.

Luke was speechless, he never imagined his sisters would come finding him here, and so soon too.

"But why are you two outside? Come inside!"

"Lady Anna asked us to wait here. We can’t defy her orders young master!"

Luke sighed, he knew how the mage knights of his household were, for them orders were absolute and they won’t defy them even in death.

"Alright! I’ll ask sister to let you guys in!"

"Don’t young master! We would like to keep watch here!" Bren said with determination.

"As you wish then." Luke shook his head and then moved inside as he opened the door.

Noah followed him inside while giving a nod and an awkward smile at the two of them. They nodded in return, but their expression serious.

Just when Luke entered inside, he was greeted with a tight hug out of nowhere.

"My baby brother! I missed you so much!"

"Look at yourself, you’ve grown so thin! Is uncle not taking care of you well?" Anna held his cheeks and looked at his face as she said with concern.

"How the hell he looks thin to you? Don’t you see his muscles? He’s even bulkier than me!" Roger yelled from the back, seated on the sofa.

"I’ll deal with you later uncle! You have some answers to give!" she glared at Roger, making him gulp down saliva down his throat in fear, her demeanor completely different then how she was with Luke. Layla chuckled seeing him, seated at the center sofa.

After their mother had passed away, Anna looked after Luke like a mother. She was acting polar opposite to what she is like usually.

"I’m not a baby anymore big sis!" Luke tried move her hand away but couldn’t. How could he in front of a fifth circle mage fighter.

Just then Anna’s eyes fell on Noah standing behind Luke. He gave an awkward smile when Anna looked at him.

"Who’s this?" She asked.

"Oh! This is my friend Noah! Noah Starlink!"

Surprise passed through Anna and Layla’s face when they hear Noah’s family name.

"And this is my big sister Anna Ranatosh and my second sister Layla Ranatosh!" Luke introduced them to Noah.

He nodded at Anna and tilted to greet Layla as he wasn’t able to get a look at her.

Just when his eyes fell on Layla, he froze, his mouth opened wide, he could see sparkles and fireworks behind her, her movements started to slow as he heard music in his ears. He was stumped, mesmerized and blown away by her beauty.

Her short black hair and black pupils were sucking him in like a black hole, his heart started beating fast, the sound banging in his ears, he realized at that moment, he had found the future mother to his children.

’Amazing!’

"Noah! Noah! OI NOAH!!" Luke screamed.

"Huh! Ya! What happened?" he was brought back to reality, as all the music and fireworks vanished.

"Are you from the Starlink dukedom?" Anna asked.

"Y-yes lady Anna!" Noah replied respectfully.

"How come you’re here then?"

"Let me tell you about that big sis!" Luke told her everything from meeting Noah to saving his life and about his family problems and finally about the adventurer team they formed.

"So that bitch tried to harm you for real!" Anna gnashed her teeth in anger. "Thank you so much Noah! I’m in your debt for saving my baby brother!"

"I just did what I could! Luke saved my life many a times after that, now I’m in his debt in return!"

"Thank you!" Anna smiled at Noah warmly.

"Bren! Fred!" she yelled in fury.

Both of them rushed inside in a second.

"What happened Lady Anna?"

"Take this young man with you and find some thugs in the city! I want them on my feet by evening!"

"YES! First young master!" both of them saluted.

"Will you please help them Noah!" she looked at Noah with a smile as she requested.

"Ah...sure lady Anna!"

"Call me big sis!"

"I can’t lady Anna! I’m sorry! Let’s hurry sir Knights!" Noah immediately rushed out as they followed him. Calling her sister would be the end for his romantic life, and he didn’t dare to even think about it.

Anna was quite taken aback seeing his intense refusal to call her big sis. But she didn’t mind, she dragged Luke and made him sit between her and Layla.

"How have you been Luke?" Layla asked with a warm and loving smile.

Layla was just two years older than Luke and Anna was the eldest being in her early twenties, eight years older than Luke and so was like a mother to both of them.

"I’m fine second sis!"

"I’m curious! Why are both of you here?" he asked.

"Of course, to take you back!" Anna said.

Luke wasn’t surprised, he expected his sisters to come for him soon. But even if it was them calling him back, he vowed to not return.

"I won’t be going sis!"

"What! Why?"

"Because father has banished me! And I won’t step in the dukedom until I’m strong enough to loose to no one!"

"Stop this childishness Luke! I’ve talked with father about it! I’m taking you back without a question!"

"Has father agreed about me coming back?"

"He..." Anna couldn’t say yes, as he never agreed about it.

"But he didn’t deny too Luke!" Layla said.

"I am an adventurer now! I have friends here; I have a team! I won’t abandon them. And I feel free here sis! I feel like I’m finally living for the first time! I don’t want to go back to that suffocating mansion where everyone looks scornfully at me, undermining and insulting me!"

Anna and Layla couldn’t retort! Roger nodded his head in agreement.

"What about us? Are we not important to you?"

"You are family! How can you not be important! I’m not a baby anymore. You have to let me free sis!"

"How will you survive here then? Without magic, how long will your teammates will be able to save you?"

Luke and Roger were confused. They thought both the girls knew about Luke before coming.

"What’s with that look?" Anna asked, confused.

"You don’t know?" Roger asked.

"About what?"

"I can wield mana now!"

"What?"

Luke channeled prana into his fists as a amber fire formed, covering his fists.

"Then...the thing about the ancestor..."

"It’s true sis!"

Silence stretched between them as Anna and Layla kept looking at Luke stupefied.

A smile spread on both of their faces as they jumped upon Luke and hugged him tight.

"I’m so happy for you my baby brother!" Anna smiled ear to ear as she tightly hugged him excitedly.

"Congrats Luke!" Layla hugged him too as she couldn’t stop smiling.

"Alright, alright! I can’t breathe here!" Luke said, irritated at their hugging and treating him like a baby. But a smile formed on his face as he felt the love and warmth his sisters had for him.

"Great! now father can’t say anything! He has to abolish your banishment!"

"I still wont go sis!" Luke denied immediately and got up trying to get away from this discussion.

"Stop this tantrum Luke! Pack your things and you’re coming with us!"

"Never! I won’t change my mind!" Luke moved up the stairs as he fled to his room, not staying to argue anymore.

A long sigh escaped Anna. "We’re staying here until he agrees then!"

"What! If you stay here, what about those two brutes you brought!" Roger asked, surprised at her words.

"They can adjust in your room!"

"There’s also Noah and there are only two rooms!"

"He and Luke can stay in one room. Layla and I in one and you three in your room!" Anna got up and moved towards the stairs. "Let’s fix the room Layla. Come!"

"You have a fucking mansion! Money to stay in those luxury hotels. But no!! This is the house you have to stay!" Roger yelled in complain but Anna kept walking without sparing him a glance.

"Thank you for letting us stay uncle!" Layla said with a smile as she followed Anna.

"I’m going to take rent from you lot now!!" Roger screamed.
