CHAPTER 90: BACK HOME

In the Ranatosh dukedom, Cahill stood in front of a wide circular platform with two long pillars at the opposite edges. This was the teleportation circle for travel between the cities and kingdoms.

"Father would be quite disappointed if he hears you’re leaving without visiting, master." Anna said with a disappointed look on her face.

"There is a lot of work pending for me, the King’s birthday event and the tournament, the workload is massive. I rushed to Frostbane only because I was worried for you two. Tell Duke Danver I’ll definitely visit him the next time." Cahill said with a smile.

"We’ll wait for your arrival then master." Anna and Layla both bowed.

"My offer still stands young man. I hope you change your mind." Cahill looked at Luke as he said.

"Thank you once again commander." Luke slightly bowed as he politely declined again.

"Hahaha! Well, well! Take care of yourselves my dear disciples." he then moved onto the platform.

"You too master!"

The two wizards channeled mana into the mana stone at the side of the platform. A blue runic circle appeared on the circular platform as the two pillars started rotating and slowly increased their speed.

Within just a few seconds, the pillars started rotating so fast that they became invisible to the eye. A bright pillar of light erupted from the circle and Cahill vanished from the spot and the pillars started slowing down until they stopped.

"Alright. Let us move too." Anna turned around and started walking towards the carriage just a few steps away from the teleportation circle as Layla and Luke followed behind her.

"How long till we reach your home Luke?" Shane asked excitedly when the three of them got inside the carriage.

"We’ll reach after passing the market." Luke said.

"Let’s move." Anna said in a loud voice. Hearing her command, Bren patted the coachman who pulled the reigns of the horses somehow as he was squeezed between the two huge men at the front.

After passing through the market, their carriage reached the road to the mansion gates. The huge mansion could be now seen from the distance.

"Whoa! You have quite the house Luke. this is even bigger than the military mansion in Gemburn." Shane exclaimed.

Luke and the others just laughed. Seeing Shane so excited.

The carriage moved through the gates and arrived at the courtyard passing the huge statue of their ancestor, the hero Levi Ranatosh at the center of the pavement road behind the fountain.

Drake along with a few butlers and maids, was already waiting at the porch. They all got out of the carriage when Drake moved towards them.

"Welcome back young master Luke."

"It’s great to see you again lord Drake." Luke greeted with a wide smile on his face.

"You’ve made some friends third young master." Drake said as he looked at Noah and the others with a warm smile.

"Let me introduce you. They are my mates. This is Noah, Shane and Ruby. And this is lord Drake, the commander of the Ranatosh army."

"H-Hello" Noah, Shane and Ruby slightly bowed in greeting, taken aback knowing the commander himself was out to receive them.

"Haha! You don’t need to be so stiff. You’re all young master Luke’s friends, and so guests of the Ranatosh household."

"Uncle Drake forgets us when he sees Luke. I’m quite disappointed." Anna complained as she looked disappointed.

"Not at all Lady Anna. It’s just that young master Luke is back after so long, I got a bit excited."

"It’s ok. You don’t need to give excuses now."

Drake just chuckled. He knew Anna was teasing him. She was far more excited at Luke being back, but wasn’t showing it out.

"I’ve arranged rooms for everyone. Your luggage will be moved to your rooms. Your room has been cleaned too third young master." Drake said.

"I’ll stay with Noah and Shane lord Drake. I am no longer the young master of the Ranatosh household. I want you not to treat me as one too." Luke said with a smile.

Drake was a bit surprised. He never expected Luke to say such words. "How can that be? You’ll be the third young master no matter where you are."

Luke just smiled and didn’t retort back. "Still, I’ll stay with my friends here. Please arrange one more bed in their room."

Drake wanted to say something, but seeing Luke’s firm gaze he just sighed and nodded.

The maids and butlers moved to the carriage to take out the luggage, but except the bags of the three girls, there was nothing else.

"Haha...we don’t have much, so everything fits in the dimensional ring you see." Shane said with an awkward laugh.

Everyone chuckled and started moving inside. just then their eyes fell on the oval, egg shaped metal airship parked over the grass. Seeing everyone’s curious gazes, Drake explained.

"That’s Duke Argon’s personal airship. He’s in talks with Lord Danver right now."

Though they were shocked first, knowing who owns that airship, they could digest the fact well as Duke Argon was one of the strongest men in the continent, a Domain master powerhouse.

They moved inside the mansion and moved along the hallway. After reaching a turn at the hallway, Drake stopped and turned towards them.

"I’ll have to excuse myself now. Lady Layla, can you show the guests to their room?" Drake asked.

"Sure uncle Drake."

Drake nodded with a smile. He then turned towards Anna. "The duke has asked for your presence, Lady Anna. Please come with me."

Anna nodded and moved along the hallway at the left with Drake while Luke and the others continued ahead.

After walking a few steps ahead, they saw a young man along with a female guard clad in silver armor moving towards them.

"Look at this. Isn’t this the banished bastard son Luke." Leo said mockingly.

"Hold that tongue of yours Leo." Layla said in a cold voice.

"How dare you talk to me like that? You, and your sister are the same. All three of you are child of a maid, born from a concubine, not a wife. know your boundaries."

"You..." Layla gritted her teeth in fury, but she couldn’t retort as what he said was the truth itself.

"Oho! Where did you find these peasants? Haha! Well trash finds trash, what can be said. You’ve found the best companions for yourself Luke. dirty peasants of low birth just like yours."

Before Leo could blink, a prana covered fist appeared right in front of him in an instant. His eyes opened wide in shock as he froze in place. But before the fist could hit, an armored palm appeared in between and stopped the fist.

A gust of wind followed from the force of the punch, as Leo’s hair fluttered in the air. A drop of sweat trickled down his forehead, fear gripped his mind when an intense pressure of Luke’s killing intent fell on him.

"What are you doing, young master Luke?" Florina asked, holding Luke’s punch with her palm.

"Move out of the way." a cold and hoarse voice came out of Luke as he looked at her with bloodshot eyes.
