“Alright.” Kurt nodded slightly.
Vanessa walked toward her office.
But, as soon as she entered the office, she saw Jenny sitting there in a daze, looking anxious and distracted.
Vanessa looked at her coldly.
“Dr. Murray, I was just about to talk to you about something.”
The moment Jenny saw Vanessa, a sh of panic crossed her eyes, but it was quickly reced by a look of arrogance. “Sorry, I don’t think there’s anything we need to talk about.”
“Dr. Murray, the fact that I’m willing to talk to you now is giving you a chance. If you don’t cherish it, when you end up in jail sewing buttons, no one will be able to save you. After all, being a doctor at Eldencrest Medical Center is a pretty good job. It would be a shame to lose it.”
“What do you mean?” Jenny suddenly became agitated and asked nervously.
Vanessa calmly sat down across from her. “Dr. Murray, do you want to know why I became the department head instead of you?“–
Back then, the two of thempeted for the position. Their medical skills were evenly matched, but in the end, Vanessa won.
Upon hearing this, Jenny’s eyes were full of disdain and arrogance. “Vanessa, you became the department head only because you’re Mrs. Powell, not because of your medical skills. My skills are no worse than

yours, and I have more experience. What right do you have to get the position? Isn’t it just because of the Powell family? Let me tell you, I will never admit defeat. Now, karma has finally caught up with you, and you’ve be a cast–off of a wealthy family. You schemed your way into marrying Nathan, but Nathan will never love a pathetic woman like you. So what if you took what belonged to me? Your man was stolen by another woman. Ha, that’s your retribution.”
She burst outughing, wild and unrestrained.
Vanessa remainedposed. “Dr. Murray, I can tell you with certainty that I became the department head without ever relying on the Powell family. This hospital has nothing to do with the Powell family. I earned it with my medical skills, which are at least as good as yours, if not better. Second, medical ethics. My ethics are far superior to yours. I am kinder, more honest, and more responsible than you. As for you, you’re selfish and devious, willing to do anything to achieve your goals, with utterly corrupt ethics. The eyes of our leaders and colleagues are sharp. If someone like you were to be department head, it would be irresponsible to the patients and a disgrace to the medical profession.”
Jenny stoppedughing and asked with disdain, “What medical ethics do you have? cing hemostatic forceps in the abdomen of a homewrecker?”
“Dr. Murray, that’s exactly what I want to talk to you about today. You put the hemostatic forceps in Susanna’s abdomen and tried to frame me for it!” Vanessa said sternly.
“Nonsense! How dare you nder me like this? I’m going to sue you!” Jenny mmed the table and shouted angrily, her emotions extremely tense and agitated.
Vanessa smiled calmly. “Jenny, why are you so agitated and nervous? This is a society ruled byw. Any illegal or criminal act will be

thoroughly investigated, and the truth wille to light. No one will be wronged.”
After speaking, she took out her phone, pulled up a surveince video, and ced it in front of Jenny. “Dr. Murray, take a good look at this video. You’ll understand after you see it.”
Jenny took the phone and, upon seeing the video, her face changed color.
“Can’t a doctor go into a patient’s room? What does this prove?” But after a moment, she started making excuses again.
Vanessa replied calmly: “I found this scalpel in your drawerst night. It’s a gynecological instrument. Why would a surgeon like you have this?”
“That’s my business. What does it have to do with you?” she sneered.
“It’s true that it’s not my business, but I’ve already handed the evidence over to the police. It doesn’t matter if you don’t admit it; the police have their ways of making you confess.” Vanessa remained unhurried, her expression calm. “The reason I’m talking to you now is to give you a chance. I just want to know, why did you put the hemostatic forceps in Susanna’s abdomen? Who was behind this and ordered you to do it?”
Vanessa knew very well that she had been the head of surgery for several years. If Jenny had wanted to take revenge, she would have done so long ago. Yet she chose to act only after Susanna was hospitalized. There had to be a reason.
Only by finding the mastermind behind the scenes could the hidden evil bepletely eradicated.
