The Master of Beasts
Chapter 349 - 20 Divine Son’s Authority_2
CHAPTER 349: CHAPTER 20 DIVINE SON’S AUTHORITY_2
Luo Wencheng greeted Chen Jiuge with a grin. "From now on, I’ll be your Protector. Whatever you want to do, just ask me for help."
An Immortal Daluo Golden Immortal as a Protector?
Chen Jiuge stared at Luo Chengwu in shock, seeking confirmation if this was indeed true.
Without going into detail, Luo Chengwu simply pulled out an old map with many red circles drawn on it.
"The places with circles are already claimed; they’re either the territory of the Divine Sons or Divine Generals. The remaining areas are clan territories, and you can freely choose any of these locations. As for the size, I will set a consistent standard."
"As for the place you pick, the quality of resources, the number of hands, and its overall strength all depend on luck."
Chen Jiuge looked at Luo Chengwu, somewhat baffled. Catching the fleeting look in Luo Chengwu’s eyes, Chen Jiuge understood.
This probably isn’t about luck. It seems the Great Leader in front of me doesn’t know the situation of these resource lands either. This clan really is laid back, even about cultivation resources.
Glancing at the rough distribution on the map, Chen Jiuge was dumbfounded.
Irregular shapes covered the entire map, each with strange, unintelligible characters scribbled below them.
"This... Great Leader, could you introduce me to the names of these territories?" Chen Jiuge asked with some difficulty.
Luo Chengwu glanced at the jumble on the map, a jolt of surprise running through him. Damn, I don’t think I can understand it either.
"Cough cough. This is a minor test, incidentally assessing a person’s luck," Luo Chengwu finally said, having managed to come up with a rather high-brow excuse.
Upon hearing this, Luo Wencheng laughed exaggeratedly. "Great Leader, that’s not what you said when Dragon Elephant was choosing."
"You said it was a test of his vision, that our Asura Clan, no matter what rubbish place we chose, could still conquer it and turn it into the most flourishing place."
Luo Chengwu’s face darkened. With a slap, he sent the incessantly chattering Luo Wencheng flying, grumbling discontentedly, "Showing off your good memory, huh? So much talk."
After shooing away the busybody, Luo Chengwu regained his composure and said calmly, "Go ahead and choose."
The corner of Chen Jiuge’s mouth twitched as he chose a remote corner, planning to find an opportunity to seek out people from the Heavenly Realm Sect and see if he could find a way back to the Myriad Beasts Sect.
"Very well. Let’s go with that. I’ll spread the news in the next few days. You should have some clan members willing to join you by then to set off together."
Standing outside the grand hall, Chen Jiuge was speechless. At least arrange a guide for me! And where are my Spiritual Beasts now?!
"Oh, you’re out already, huh? The Great Leader must be too embarrassed to say more. Otherwise, he definitely would’ve regaled you with a saga of bygone glorious years," Luo Wencheng appeared, chuckling.
Which Elder is he? Chen Jiuge wasn’t sure how to address this worldly-wise old man.
"What Elder? Just call me Cheng-bro; I’m not old yet," Luo Wencheng said, flexing his bulging biceps proudly.
"Alright, Cheng-bro. I want to know, where are my Spiritual Beast and the things I left behind when I entered the Secret Realm?" Chen Jiuge asked, somewhat awkwardly.
"Ah, that... I think I roughly know where they are." A place popped into Luo Wencheng’s mind.
This grand hall, like the previous Secret Realm, was completely surrounded by dense mountains without any other buildings nearby. Naturally, Chen Jiuge also didn’t know the way out.
Fortunately, Luo Wencheng was present. As everyone knows, Immortals generally dislike walking, so with a WHOOSH, the two of them arrived at the doorstep of Xiu Xiu’s courtyard.
Next door, a Female Shura was beating up her man at the doorstep. Seeing Chen Jiuge, her eyes lit up. "Isn’t that the Divine Son? My man has been so bored at home recently. Divine Son, once you’ve chosen your territory, could you take him with you?"
Looking at the man, his face bruised and his eyes filled with hope, Chen Jiuge’s mouth twitched as he said, "That’s fine. When I set off, just have him come along."
"That’s wonderful! Now, thank the Divine Son! You have no manners."
Seeing the man kicked sprawling at his feet, Chen Jiuge forced a smile. "You’re welcome."
"Alright, that’s settled then. We have other matters to attend to," Luo Wencheng said with a nonchalant expression.
Upon pushing open the courtyard door, the first thing Chen Jiuge saw was the Light Gate of the Green Bamboo Realm. Sensing Chen Jiuge’s presence, Chen Ziteng emerged with a look of delight and wrapped itself tightly around Chen Jiuge’s wrist.
"Master, I missed you so much!"
"Alright, alright, I’m not leaving this time," Chen Jiuge said gently.
"I told you not to put so much salt! Now look, it’s too salty. I’m not eating this dish; you eat it yourself!"
"I’ll eat it then! Tian Que, you’ll help me, right?"
"Ah, that... I like sweets, Brother Dabai."
"If it really won’t do, just pour it out."
"No way! We can’t waste food!"
The five of them, each carrying a dish, arrived at the courtyard amidst the clamor.
As the Spiritual Beasts rushed straight towards him, Chen Jiuge had just opened his arms when Xiu Xiu, like a little calf, barreled past the other four, knocking them aside, and dove straight into Chen Jiuge’s embrace.
He stood awkwardly still, not knowing whether to embrace her.
At the stone table, Chen Jiuge looked at Xiu Xiu, who now addressed him in a new way, and he finally let out a sigh of relief.
"I’ll likely have to leave here in a while, Xiu Xiu. You should stay in the clan territory and focus on your cultivation," Chen Jiuge took the opportunity to say.
"No way! I want to come with you!" Xiu Xiu immediately shook her head.
